Chapter 122 - Chapter 122

All eyes including Julian's turned towards Lyren. Who would you want to lead you if not for the best there was? They all had expectant eyes and Lyren was caught in the middle of all the stares. He took steps back as he retreated.

Him? The class representative?

That ought to have been the greatest joke he had ever had. To draw the line, he did not want to represent anyone and second, he only cared about himself. There was no way he was going to be head over heels trying to pass information and become errand boy for the tutors.

One could ask if he really wanted to become the sect master at one point, why was he so adamant on rejecting the class representative? A leader started early and as they grew, they would acquire more skills and one day, they could rule over nations!

It was not like he had not about this. He really did not think that he could lead or represent anyone. He had too much to his plate at the moment to the extent he did not have enough time to work on it all. He had a sword to master, arrays to learn anytime soon and also, he did not forget about the auction that he was supposed to sell his hunt. He did not have time to boss over others in the first place.

He raised his hand and shook his head.

"I think you misunderstand. You have not been told to select the strongest but someone who can lead. Personally, I vouch for myself that I cannot lead. I will drag you down because you are too weak to be under me. It will appear as though I am bullying you all," Lyren said and he did not care if it sounded rude. There was no way he was becoming a representative.

"It is because you are stronger than us all that we want you to lead us," Julian said and Lyren felt his mouth twitch. Why was Julian in support with them and not him? Did he not know that he was in trouble with several seniors?

"You don't understand…" Lyren was cut off by the crowd before he could finish.

"We understand very well. We know you have the best potential and looking up to you is going to be our motivation. Please do not reject us," a female voice said from between the crowd and many nodded.

Lyren wanted to run. They were not even listening to him. Did they think that they were going to get through to him this easily? He was deep in thoughts and he sighed because if there was no convincing them, they were going to have him elected. He was the only one who everyone had unanimously agreed to be the leader and their group was once again the first to agree to their leader.

He had not agreed! He felt like shedding tears when he saw the female elder look at them and she walked to them reaching them almost immediately.

"So, you have been elected, take this as it is the badge of the class representative," she said and then walked to the next group and it appeared that Alvin had been elected too.

Lyren was speechless. The badge in his palm was the last thing he wanted in his hand. It felt too heavy and all the eyes staring at him only made it heavier. He wanted to throw it away but he clenched his hand and looked at it.

It was made of brown wood and a flame was curved in both sides. He sighed as he accepted defeat. He glared at Julian because he was the one responsible for it all. He had opened the path for them all to torment him. He could feel his mouth twitching again as an evil thought formed in his mind.

"Then allow me to elect my deputy," Lyren said and everyone clenched their fists in joy because they had succeeded in choosing the SSS class as their leader. Who would not be overjoyed to begin with?

Well, someone was not happy. He who had his mouth wide open just a few seconds ago was now in a dark world. He could feel the jaws of hell biting at him and there was no way he could escape it. it was like a guillotine on his neck such that he could not escape the beheading that was to come.

This person was none other than Julian. He had looked at Lyren as a senior and made a decision to make him the class representative but now, he felt like he had dug his own grave. When he heard Lyren's words and he felt Lyren's eyes fall on him, he could not help but have a bad premonition.

Lyren was someone who kept a grudge he had just happened to 'offend' Lyren. He was the only A grade in the group and what would be better than being led by SSS and A grade talents? He was having these thoughts when he heard Lyren speak.

"I appreciate you all for all choosing me and also giving me the chance to actually choose a deputy. I think that you will agree with me on this. You all have said that I am one that you look up to. I feel happy for that and I can't help but want to choose the only person who is also a spokesman and also, the best fit for this.

"We have an A grade talent with us in this group and you would all agree that there is no better option than him," Lyren said and everyone seemed elated at this. They all looked at Julian who was now under the spotlight. They all agreed.

And now Julian felt his mouth twitch because he did not want to have any role. There was no way he was going to reject the role after what he had said about looking up to an SSS grade talent. All these people look up to A grade talents in the first place. He was the only option to be the deputy.

He bowed to everyone and then stood next to Lyren.

"I highly appreciate our class representative for actually giving me this chance to serve under him. I feel highly favored because I get a chance to learn from our mentor directly. Thankyou all for allowing me this chance," Julian said and there was a wave of jealousy in some of the students because he mentioned serving under the SSS grade talent. Who would not want to?

They clapped till their palms turned red and the two bowed at the crowd.

"I think that it is time for us to go back to our seats. I think that we should all stay at one column now so that we will have an easier time finding each other," Lyren said and they all nodded. And they all had the same thoughts. Who if not for the SSS grade that could actually have such foresight? They had made the right choice!

They all followed and for the first time, Lyren and Julian sat at the front row. The other groups seemed to see the intention behind their actions and they did the same. Alvin wore ugly look when he realized that he had not chosen a deputy but he was going to do it later. But to think that he, the mayor's so had not though of having a deputy… He had lost to a commoner… he clenched his fist and reluctantly gave the same instructions as Lyren.

In no time, they were all settled and the elders stood before them all smiling. This batch was actually interesting and the SSS grade was not just for show…
