Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

Don't go too far kid. Don't you think that the damage he has suffered is enough?"

One of the guys in the group that belonged to The Bear spoke out the logic everyone in the room carried. It was very unethical to steal from an already defeated opponent.

"Hehe…" Lyren's laugh filled the hotel. This silenced the guy who was staring daggers.

"So, I did not suffer any damage, right? All I did was collect my treatment fee. You know its difficult to get treated…"

Lyren's tone just made the guys clench their fist as some of the people in the hotel laughed. If it was in terms of logic, the kid did not lose out.

Seeing that Lyren did not plan on returning the money, they could only give The Bear a pill before they carried him away.

They gave Lyren a final look before they left with ugly expressions because they knew their entire fortune was in that pouch.

Things calmed down and talks continued but there were glances thrown at Lyren every now and then.

Lyren was getting irritated because the waiter was yet to bring his food after he had already paid for it.

He wanted to call him out but it was just in time as the waiter came stumbling and almost spilling the soup. He wore a foolish smile with all his teeth bared out.

"Hehe, young master is truly commendable in strength. We all have underestimated you. Enjoy your meal. It's on the hotel today," the waiter said while rubbing his hands together.

Then he looked at Lyren wide eyed who was still looking at him with an almost invisible smile.

"AH! Right. Here is your money. I am greatly touched by your magnanimity. I will be taking my leave now. If you need anything just hit the table three times."

The waiter said quickly and placed the coins on the table before he strode away into the door that slammed after him sweat dripping from his forehead.

Lyren was amused because of power. It appeared that he could get away with almost anything as long as he had power. The fact he had been fed for free was evidence for that.

He was not the kind to reject goodwill and thus he was going to eat to his fill. He could not help but wonder how beast meat actually tasted like.

Lyren's first tasted the soup and even by bringing the bowl close to his mouth, he was assaulted by the sweet aroma which activated his tastebuds which were very anticipatory.

Saliva filled his mouth as he took a sip of the soup from the bowl and the sensation made him feel like he was eating even his mouth and as he swallowed, he felt like he was also swallowing his throat.

His face had a tinge of red as he let a out a heave which made him grin like a fool. His face so relaxed he could not remember the last time he felt like that.

He then picked a piece of meat and he had expected it to be hard but it was soft almost like it was butter. His teeth sliced into the meat biting a chunk and as he chewed, the effect of the soup was rejuvenated.

He wanted to keep chewing and it was somehow funny to him. The meat really was sweet and the taste did not dissipate quickly.

He bit another piece and repeated the same process forgetting that he had rice to eat. By the time he finished eating, his belly had rounded and the rice had only few bites because he had asked for meat seconds which were obviously on the hotel

Well, he might have not calculated because in his enjoyment, he had not discovered there was an effect that was going on in his body.

He had just leaned on the chair and he felt that his pain was already reducing. The wounds felt like they would heal in a day or two. This was the effect of eating beast meat.

But that was not the huge catch. His core seemed to be absorbing Elyria from the meat he had just eaten.

His cultivation increased just slightly but it stalled and did not increase again. It appeared that the effect could not be replicated easily.

Maybe he would need to eat a stronger beast than that if he wanted to have the same effect.

Maybe if he had eaten the whole beast alone, the increase would have been better, but could he?

He had not managed to ask for another round after the second one and here he was thinking of eating the beast alone.

He felt like taking a nap and he closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of having his stomach full. This was his best meal yet.

He now had thoughts as to why a non-cultivator could not eat beast meat, beasts with cultivation specifically.

The Elyria from the meat would kill them.

This explained why the waiter had refused to bring him the food and thinking of the waiter, he recalled that he had extra earnings from The Bear.

He removed the pouch from his chest and poured the coins on the table. He was actually surprised because there were over fifty silver coins and over a hundred copper coins!

This pouch was interesting because there was no way the coins would fit in this pouch. This meant that it had more to it than he gave it credit for.

This must have been his greatest gain from The Bear. The coins were not worth the pouch and he was going to cherish it.

He put the coins back as he thought of his next move before he saw the pouch on the table from the waiter. Now this was interesting.

He did the same and counted around twenty silver coins. Someone paid even compensation. The pouch was a normal one so he poured the coins into The Bear's pouch.

He tapped the table three times and the waiter came rushing and he had a smile on his face when he saw that the pouch was no longer on the table. At least he was forgiven. He looked at Lyren with an inquiring gaze.

"I am looking for a room. What are your rates?" Lyren asked and the waiter's eyes seemed to shine because this was even better.

"We have rooms ranging from a hundred copper coins a day to rooms worth a silver coin a day. These are our VIP rooms and they have room service and a backyard."

The waiter replied and Lyren was deep in thought and just as he was about to choose, the waiter said with a whisper.

"We also have a VVIP room which has a small pond at its backyard. It is the best room for hotels of our level and it compares slightly to the second-class hotels of those rich fellows. Anyways, it is not a big deal for young master here. It just costs five silver coins a day."

Lyren smiled when he heard this and he did not have second thoughts because he was definitely choosing this room. It might have the privacy he needed.

The waiter looked at Lyren with expectant eyes with his hands clasped together on his chest.

"Take me to that room. I will be staying here for a week."

These words were like music to the waiter's ears as his face lit up and he bowed with one hand on his chest and the other one ushering Lyren.

"This way young master."

Lyren stood up and followed the waiter. The waiter was in a cheerful mood and he did not stop yapping. He led Lyren to the room that was behind the hotel.

It was like a house on its own and the waiter had not lied when he said there was a pond and by the pond was a peach blossom tree.

The waiter opened the door and let Lyren enter first before he followed.

"There is a set of change clothes in the closet and you can have meals delivered to you here every day. A female will be attending to you from now onwards. They will be completely under your command.

"Young master… The house is here… if you like it then you can… you know…" the waiter stuttered at the end Lyren was again flabbergasted by this waiter.

"I know." Lyrem replied as he put thirty 35 silver coins into the waiter's pouch from before.

The waiter took the pouch hesitantly and looked inside it. His eyes shone and he left leaping in joy leaving the flabbergasted Lyren holding on to his sword.
