Chapter 35
Lina's POV
My lungs were totally burning by the time I hit the stairs.
I hadn't made it far when I recalled the diary I left in my room. The second my dad was distracted, I just blurted out the first excuse I could think of, telling him I forgot something important in Louis's quarters and had to run back. I didn't wait for him to answer. I just bolted.
That diary was the one thing I couldn't risk anyone reading. I had started writing in it right after my rebirth for a reason. I needed to make sure I never forgot my grudge or my purpose, just in case something happened and my mind went blank. My brain clearly couldn't be trusted anyway, considering I still couldn't even recall my very first encounter with Louis after coming back.
I threw the door open so hard it slammed against the wall, my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath.
"Ohh shit," I muttered. My heart literally dropped into my stomach.
