Xiao Yan tore free from the Ansha's consciousness, staggering back as time snapped into place.
"What will you do to us?" he demanded.
The Ansha turned away.
"Nothing. Leave quietly."
A rush of wind swept over them.
In the next instant—they were back on earth.
Cheers erupted.
"We're free!" "He let us go!"
LuQi stared in disbelief.
"I can't believe it."
Xiao Yan whispered softly, barely audible.
"Mi-An… I can do it."
Nem took Di'or's hand and led her away.
Inside their room, silence lingered.
"When all this ends," Nem asked quietly, "will you stay with me?"
"Yes," Di'or answered.
He embraced her, and she leaned into him. His lips met hers—slow, desperate—two souls clinging to comfort as darkness gathered beyond the walls.
