Chapter 2 - 2

'I didn't expect to get a prey this quickly.' Ron thought with an absolutely delighted heart, 'The only problem I face now is how to capture her,' The thought of killing definitely came to heart but was quickly washed away.

Extremely stupid to do so. Capturing her would be more advantageous, focus now turning towards the personal soldiers while Ron's strength was strong but not enough, knowing the inadequacy quite well in heart. In strength and magic, definitely stronger than your average adult man but to a well trained soldier?

That would only be a pipe dream.

The leader of the hundred guards moved towards him and whispered, "young master, there is something amiss here, it might be trouble brewing…"

Ron turned and spoke coldly, "I know that there is an enemy attack, Rowen."

"What!?"

"Just inform everyone and get ready already."

The status of the young master of the Crown Duchy was enough to compel them to follow orders, on paper might only be a soldier, that was merely in it though. Soon, every soldier in the barracks was already prepared, wearing their armour and sword while some carried bows.

Their gaze intently looking up ahead, nervousness clouding their hearts.

"Is there really an enemy attack?"

"The veteran soldier said so, there might really be an enemy attack…"

There were around a thousand soldiers here though they were all trained for barely a year, except for the hundred guards who firmly protected Ron, having trained for over ten years and war-hardened.

The lingering silence stretched for a long time.

Those who have experienced the battlefield know how terrifying it is. Life and death could be decided in a mere fleeting moment. Suddenly, an arrow shot through the skies, tearing through the air and about to land on him.

Just as it was a few meters away from him, Rowen casually swiped his sword, easily deflecting the arrow in the blink of an eye, "Young master, the intel might have been leaked, they are here to target you…"

"I can see," Ron nodded, blocking that arrow was definitely possible on his own or even merely avoiding but it showed that the guard was at least competent enough. With the first, countless others followed, attacking the soldiers mercilessly.

"Take shield."

The soldiers firmly kept a shield in front of them, blocking all the arrows easily, barely a few died in the process. Then the enemy army charged at them and the two sides clashed fiercely against each other, their swords meeting each other head-on. Firmly protected by the hundred guards, Ron was pretty much safe from all the enemy attacks.

While definitely wanting to fight but finding the side-character was more important at the moment, the mere reward alone was extremely tempting. Ten body-strengthening potions. Even in their own Crown Duchy, this would be extremely expensive and could only get it one time in his eighteen birthday and that too only because of being the first-in line.

'At least I know that it is a 'she' and barely a few women enlist in the army so it would be easy to know who…'

Suddenly his ears started to buzz with loud shouts and cries of pain. A woman with silver hair was charging straight at him, drenched in the crimson blood of the enemies, moving sword ferociously to kill everything in path. Those pupils only reflected Ron's visage.

"Found the side-character."

Even without a prompt from the system, her demeanour, her body language, everything screamed the side-character, taking out the sword from the scabbard, Ron shouted loudly drawing the guards attention, "Everyone I want that woman captured," pointing towards her.

All the guards' attention focused on the silver haired woman and their expression turned strange, Ron though maintained his cold expression, not a single flinch on his face.

"Okay, young master."

Nevertheless, everyone followed orders and quickly moved forward. Faced with veteran soldiers, it wasn't as easy anymore, especially with the overwhelming number and Rowen who was even stronger. Though because of this an opening came around Ron's defense and a soldier managed to skip through the defense, the sword directly coming for his neck.

All the guards panicked. The silver-haired girl smirked.

"Hmph."

Ron merely sneered and swung his own sword, meeting it head-on, the two swords collided with a fierce clang equally matched in strength and both pushed back. Then pointing palm forward, an ice shard shot through the air, directly piercing through the soldier's temples, killing him almost instantly, the lifeless body fell to the ground with a cold thud.

"Weakling."

One of the guards reached and spoke with trembling disbelief, "Young master, are you really fine?" If he really died then it would be as good as them dying as well.

"Yes," Ron nodded, "Go take care of her first, let the enemy soldiers come and face me if they dare to," watching the bloody battlefield with coldness.

"Y-yes."

The guard kept a closer distance, forming a tighter formation to not let a single one enter.

While Ron maintained a cool expression. Maybe it was because he has adapted to this world or maybe because of the villain system, seeing countless dying and even having the blood of a person in hand, didn't make him feel shit. Neither should. That wouldn't be befitting a villain, would it?

'I still have five spells left to cast so that should be enough.'

Magic was a little special in this world, spells were extremely complex, in a battle, one would barely have the time to cast it so needed to be stored for it to be effective. Of course that storing capability also depended on the person's level of magic.

For example, he could store six spells. With four being ice-shard, one a fire ball and the last a wind slash. These were rather simple forms of spells but were already effective against these soldiers. The one likely to be unaffected would be Rowen and that silver-haired girl with the exception of his guard who might be able to defend against it.

"How!?"

The silver-haired girl screamed, gritting her teeth, trying to madly charge at Ron.

"You shouldn't get distracted like that," Rowen slashed with his sword, forced to defend herself. Another guard moved quickly, slicing the sword from the side. She could barely dodge in the nick of time, only for her to be overwhelmed with a dozen others.

This silver-haired girl now realized that she was completely surrounded from all sides and had no escape.

Just like that the fight continued.

Although the enemy soldiers were more in number and only increasing but with the help of Ron's guard, quality won over the quantity, they were able to hold on firmly and soon reinforcements arrived. The already vulnerable balance tilted completely in the blink of an eye.

"Damn it, everyone retreat!"

With the announcement, the enemy started to escape, there was no hope in this fight, while the silver-haired was still completely surrounded, unable to escape and exhausted to the brim. Slumping to the ground on knees, panting rapidly:

"Why have you not killed me yet?"

"It's because of the young master," Rowen sneered, "You are quite lucky, it seems that the younger master has taken a liking to you."

"You… I would rather die than be taken by an enemy…"

She felt a heavy blunt on the back of her neck and the world turned blank.

[Congratulation, you have completed the mission of capturing the side-character, you have gained ten body-strengthening potion]

'Not bad.'

Ron felt the excitement almost bubbling through his heart, "Bind her and follow me to my camp," he ordered and quickly turned away. The guards bound her tightly with ropes, before dragging back as instructed.

All the soldiers looked at Ron's fleeting back and felt their heart almost despair:

"The monster of the Crown Duchy, a fitting name."

Soon back inside the camp, Ron sat on the comfy sofa and extended his hand forward, a small bottle filled with orange liquid materialised out of thin air, opening the knob before drinking it in big gulps.

The heat rose from the core of his body, strengthening him.

[Your strength has been increased by 0.1]

"Not bad."

Drinking the other nine bottles along with it.

[Your strength has been increased by 0.1]

[Your strength has been increased by 0.1]

[Your strength has been increased by 0.1]

With ten notifications appearing in a row, Ron's veins coursed with unbridled power. The strength didn't merely increase by twice, at least that was for sure. Then observing the status before him more thoughtfully.
