Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Hotel lobby

Lyxander immediately stared sharply at Simon.

"Don't look at me like that. I don't know what's going on either."

Simon quickly continued, "This barrier consists of more than 100 combinations of barrier-type Entities. It should be enough to withstand a five-star attack, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, I believe you." Lyxander left with Vivi, leaving Simon behind.

"Damn brat." In the end, Simon could only follow them while pushing the question in his mind aside.

The wind blew fiercely.

On top of a skyscraper, two men stood facing each other.

One looked messy, with dark blue hair fluttering in the wind.

The other was bare-chested, his black hair also swaying with the wind.

'Dan Yuan, one of the members of The Path.' Ghost evaluated in his mind. 'A member of the most wanted criminal group… truly extraordinary. No wonder Fraud recommended him.'

In the group chat, it was already common knowledge that Fraud was a member of The Path. With his help, Ghost managed to hire the services of one of The Path members—Dan Yuan.

Dan Yuan looked at Ghost for a moment before turning away.

"At least let me treat you to a meal," Ghost offered.

But without even turning his head, Dan Yuan simply replied, "I only need my payment."

THUD!

Lyxander's face crashed into the glass wall of the hotel lobby.

"Haha, you should learn how to see, Lie."

Quartz mocked him before stepping forward confidently.

THUD!

His face also slammed into the glass.

"You should learn how to see, Quartz," Lyxander shouted.

"Tch, I have to admit this glass is hard to notice."

While the two of them were busy doing something stupid, Claudius and the others had already entered the hotel lobby.

The lobby was located directly in front of the parking area, allowing drivers to clearly see the inside of the hotel through the transparent glass walls.

With architecture typical of the Empire, golden-yellow floors, and luxurious lamps that enhanced the aesthetic atmosphere.

Not only the building design, but also the high-class furniture such as fur sofas and glass tables—especially the massive pillars supporting the building—gave a distinct sense of comfort.

And this was only one of the four buildings of the Graham Hotel.

Of course, this building had been emptied to welcome the second prince, so only receptionists and waiters were present.

On top of a red carpet with golden patterns, a chubby man with a curved mustache and curly golden hair walked toward them.

He was the head of the Graham Family who ruled the city of Faulust—Graham Stang.

"Prince Claudius, welcome to the city of Faulust. I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart for not being able to welcome you at the station," Graham Stang greeted while extending his hand.

"Haha. Long time no see, Mr. Graham. There's no need to be so formal, truly no need. It's not a problem at all that you couldn't welcome me at the station."

Claudius immediately shook Graham Stang's hand before continuing.

"On the contrary, I should be the one apologizing for troubling you."

"Oh, no, no." Graham Stang shook his head.

"How could a prince possibly trouble me? I feel greatly honored to be able to serve you."

"Hehe, the speaking ability of nobles really is extraordinary," Lyxander sneered from behind.

"Well then, please allow me to escort you to your room."

Not long after, Claudius and his attendants left the hotel lobby.

Of course several Ravens followed to guard him, but Lyxander's escort duty had ended for the day.

"Finally… hah…"

Seeing Claudius leave, Lyxander breathed in relief and leaned back on the chair.

"So, Senior, what are we going to do now?"

Vivi took a seat beside him. "You should go find your room."

"My room?"

"Mm." Vivi nodded.

"You're sharing a room with Zirkon."

"Wait! I'm still with Zirkon?" Lyxander asked.

Vivi tilted her head slightly.

"You can sleep with me if Natanael is willing to switch rooms."

Lyxander frowned. "Honestly, that sounds weird, and that's not what I meant."

Vivi simply looked at him innocently.

"Forget it. I'll go find Zirkon. Take care, Senior." Lyxander waved and left.

9:00 PM

Graham Hotel.

Inside the elevator, Garnet looked at his reflection in the elevator mirror.

Wearing a black military uniform with red edges, he had dark skin and carried a black suitcase.

Above him, the floor indicator kept changing—

5...

4...

3...

Then it stopped at floor 2.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened.

A beautiful woman with long dark-purple hair stepped in, wearing a dark purple fur coat.

She gave Garnet a small smile before standing right beside him.

Click!

The elevator doors closed again and began descending.

The two of them remained silent for a moment.

Then the woman slipped her hand into her fur coat.

THUD!

A small axe shot straight toward Garnet's face.

But he easily blocked it with his suitcase.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened again, and the woman was thrown out.

With her high heels, she landed on the glass wall before quickly charging toward Garnet.

Garnet stepped out of the elevator, opened his suitcase, and deflected the attack.

Tap, tap.

The woman landed on the floor, then jumped onto a table.

Without hesitation, she threw a sofa toward Garnet with one hand.

But it was easily brushed aside.

'WHAT?!'

Garnet was shocked inwardly.

Not just one!

The woman threw five sofas!

With agility, Garnet dodged them one by one until finally a table flew toward him.

Snikt!

SLASH—

The table split in half.

Revealing Garnet with three metal claws extending from his right hand.

Tap...

The woman leaped high before landing lightly like a feather.

Quickly, she pulled out two pistols from inside her coat!

But before she could pull the trigger—

A series of blue arrow markings appeared beneath Garnet's feet.

He shot forward like lightning!

SLASH—

The woman's head was cut into three pieces.

Her body still held the pistols before slowly falling like a feather and collapsing onto the floor.

Not long after, a group of people wearing white cleaner uniforms arrived.

They quickly repaired the broken table and cleaned up the corpse lying on the floor.

They were Cleaners.

A special cleaning group from Double A whose members mostly worked as Cleaners and Fixers.

Before joining Entity Corporation, Oscar also came from this organization.

Usually, this group is hired by hitmen to clean up the traces of their killings.

However, in large-scale assassination missions, the organization provides Cleaners free of charge.

That is why they were here.

20th Floor.

Inside one of the hotel rooms.

A room with two beds and one sofa.

Lyxander was trying to wake Zirkon up.

"Wake up. It's time for your patrol."

But instead of waking up, Zirkon bargained, "Five more minutes."

A wrinkle appeared on Lyxander's face. Without hesitation, he pulled Zirkon's blanket and made him fall to the floor.

Thud!

"Leave the key below. I want to sleep." Lyxander wrapped himself in the blanket and immediately fell asleep.

"Hah…" Zirkon sighed.

Reluctantly, he went out to patrol.

But instead of patrolling, he headed to the corridor connecting the buildings to smoke.

There, he saw a man with dark blue hair wearing a black suit, lighting a cigarette.

It was Winter Ghost.
