Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Love

Fraud

"Alright, so the story began when—I was carrying out a mission to assassinate Vanguard Mask."

"Vanguard Mask? Who's that?"

Lyxander was quite shocked. He didn't recognize the name at all, even though his mind was filled with countless names of insignificant figures.

Villain

"Kekeke, I didn't expect you to be crazy enough to fight one of the Heads. No wonder Vanguard lost one of his arms."

No scope

"By the way, who is Vanguard?"

Villain

"Kekeke, people as strong as you are always annoying. You never care about what's going on around you. You're a hitman, yet you don't even know about the Heads."

Villain

"Just like me, Vanguard is one of the Five Heads. He is the leader of a mafia organization called Mask."

"Wait, a Head!"

Lyxander recognized the term. A Head was the title given to the supreme leaders of the mafia—on Earth, they would probably be called godfathers.

This wasn't rare knowledge. In fact, most people knew about it. Such information was widely spread through mafia-themed movies and novels. Lyxander himself learned it from a novel titled *The Head*.

"To think that one of the members in this group chat is a Head…"

Lyxander was stunned. "If he's that strong, then just how strong is No scope, who's being called powerful by him?"

Back to the screen.

Fraud

"Alright, let me continue. After fighting Vanguard, I was defeated and decided to escape. While fleeing, I met a Dullahan who was incredibly beautiful and elegant."

Alice

"How do you know she was beautiful? Sorry, but according to common knowledge, Dullahans don't have heads."

Fraud

"No, no. A Dullahan still has a head—it's just separated from the neck. When I met her, she was carrying her head above her horse."

Alice

"I see. My apologies, please continue."

Fraud

"Then she said to me, 'Your wounds are severe. If you wish to die without pain, I can kill you.' Damn it, isn't that cool?"

No scope

"Wait, if your injuries were that bad, how are you still alive now?"

Fraud

"Shut up, bastard. Haven't you ever learned to listen to a story until the end?"

No scope

"What the hell? You weren't like this when Alice asked."

Fraud

"After that, I said to her, 'Instead of killing me, wouldn't it be better to give me a ride to a doctor?'"

No scope

"You asshole, stop ignoring me."

Fraud

"Who would've thought she actually took me to a doctor? That was the moment I fell in love with her."

Fraud

"Later on, I confessed my feelings to her, but unfortunately, I was rejected. Still, at least I managed to get her number."

King

"Wait? You were rejected, but you still got her phone number?"

Fraud

"Yes."

King

"How is that even possible?"

"Does a Dullahan even have a phone?"

Lyxander muttered. "Looks like I underestimated how advanced this era is."

Fraud

"Well… I knelt before her and cried while begging for her number."

"Pathetic," Lyxander muttered.

King

"Pathetic."

No scope

"Pathetic."

Fraud

"Shut up, @No scope."

No scope

"Wait, why am I the only one getting attacked?"

King

"Then what's your plan to get closer to her?"

Fraud

"I plan to give her a ring and propose."

No scope

"You bastards…"

"Pathetic," Lyxander muttered once again.

King

"Come on, man. She already rejected you, and you think she'll accept your proposal?"

Fraud

"Then what should I do?"

Villain

"My advice is to give up and return to living peacefully as a killer."

Fraud

"No. I won't give up on my love."

"I think I understand why his nickname is Fraud,"

Lyxander felt irritated by the scene and finally decided to join the conversation.

Pup dog

"Do you truly love her?"

Fraud

"I truly love her."

"You've only met her once, yet you can say that so confidently. Amazing,"

Lyxander sneered.

Pup dog

"Then tell me—would you still love her if she were a table?"

Fraud

"What kind of comparison is that?"

Pup dog

"Then how about a dog? Or what if she were a man—would you still love her?"

The group chat fell silent. No one commented.

Pup dog

"Love is nothing more than an illusion. Would a mother still love her child if that child were not her own? Would a man still love a woman if that woman were a man?"

Pup dog

"Love is merely a lie. People love only based on form. And can love based on form truly be called love? Isn't it nothing more than lust?"

Pup dog

"Love is based solely on form. So don't be deceived by the lie called love."

No one refuted Lyxander. His argument sounded extremely logical.

King

"Haha, you know, @Pup dog, I once asked my brother the same question. Care to guess his answer?"

Pup dog

"You agreed with me?"

Heh.

Lyxander smiled, confident in his reasoning.

King

"Haha, how arrogant. Unfortunately, that wasn't his answer."

Pup dog

"Then what was it?"

Not only Lyxander, but the other members were also waiting. They all felt his argument made sense.

King

"He laughed when he heard my question. 'Haha, you think love is based on form? You think a mother loves her child simply because it is her child? Then tell me—why do so many parents abandon or abuse their own children?' Kekeke, answer me."

Pup dog

"Because they don't love them?"

King

"Correct. And why don't they love them?"

Lyxander pondered for a moment.

Pup dog

"I don't know."

King

"The answer is simple—because they chose not to love them."

King

"Love is not based on form. A mother loves her child because she chooses to love them."

King

"Love is a choice. It is not a lie, but a form of honesty we call ego."

King

"Love is subjectivity."

Lyxander and the other members were left speechless.

They had all believed Lyxander was right. But now they realized—love was not a lie, but the highest form of honesty, called ego.

While everyone was stunned by the answer, there was only one person who wasn't surprised.

Admin began typing.
