Chapter 303 - Chapter 303: The Void Wormhole

The Freljord was covered in purple rain, falling from the sky and blanketing the ice and snow. Each raindrop was the size of a pine needle and carried a strange, indescribable stickiness.

It had none of the cool, clean feeling that normal rain should have. The Freljord was covered in snow and ice year-round, and the air was fresh. When it rained, although the cold bit deep into the bone and the raindrops froze into snowflakes in moments, it instead made the air even cleaner.

But at this moment, this rain brought with it a nauseating, slimy sensation, along with a foul smell, like fluid seeping from an unhealed wound, tinged with a faint stench of blood and rot.

Everyone who saw this rain heard a voice appear in their minds at the same time. It was like the murmur of a monster, a voice filled with rage and shrieking.

It made the hearts of everyone who heard it tremble.

Logan quickly looked to the side and saw that the incomparably massive Void giant deer had already fallen. Its mountain-sized ice-sculpture body gradually split apart and shattered, and dense purple ripples appeared from beneath the cracks in the ice, squeezing out of the frozen layers like writhing tentacles.

Along with the purple light surfacing across the Void giant deer's body, its enormous frozen body cracked apart and crumbled, gradually turning into pieces of purple dust, leaving behind only a brown object that looked like a skeleton marked with twisted purple patterns.

Looking at that skeleton, Logan's vision suddenly blurred. A layer of purple mist instantly covered his eyes, then spread densely across his eyeballs like spiderwebs. Tiny wriggling things crawled over them, like tentacles.

"Freeze!"

In the distance, Ahri saw this and clasped her hands together, forming a spell seal. A white light tinged with pink gathered around Logan.

Ahri's voice also entered Logan's mind.

"Don't look! Logan, that thing carries the power to corrupt the source of your spirit. If you keep staring at it, you'll be corrupted by them and turn into a madman!"

Lissandra also acted in an instant. An incomparably massive iceberg spread out, covering the enormous purple skeleton in the blink of an eye.

Logan frowned slightly. Ahri's power had not made that twisted purple hue vanish from his eyes. Those tiny tentacles were still crawling across his eyeballs, and quite a few had already crossed past his eyes and were advancing toward his brain.

Fuck, no wonder people corrupted by the Void went insane. This was a sanity meter nosedive.

With a slight frown, Logan extended his left hand forward while gripping the wind sword in his right. At the same time as he closed his eyes, he released the power of the Spirit Blossom law.

A pink-white lotus bloomed between his brows, and the pure, ethereal aura of Spirit Blossom appeared around Logan.

The power of Spirit Blossom was the power of law. Once obtained, it was the power of godhood. Although Logan did not think the power of Spirit Blossom would be greater than the Void's origin, resisting the Void's corruption, especially the corruption of a false Watcher, should not be difficult.

Icathia had been corrupted into that hellhole, and great numbers of Ascended had been infected and turned into Darkin, hadn't they still endured it?

Besides, Logan's spiritual power was stronger than that of the Ascended!

Ascended... in the end, they were just warriors who had obtained powerful strength. There was no need to mythologize them too much. They were no different from humans. They could rage, cry, argue, and make a scene.

Hadn't everyone seen Aatrox's personality after he got out?

The man even cried!

Because of that, the strange purple hue soon faded from Logan's body.

But in the next instant, a massive opening appeared in the sky above the Freljord.

Logan instantly raised his head. Then Ahri and Lissandra appeared.

The remaining two Frost Watchers, the giant eyeball and the many-armed faceless Watcher, also raised their heads.

Above the Freljord, within the huge tear that had been opened, an incomparably enormous pair of hands was breaking through Runeterra's barrier.

"Damn it. The Watcher's death has caused the Void's power to spread." Lissandra held her hands properly before her stomach, raised her head to look into the sky, and murmured.

Then she turned to Logan, her empty pale eyes staring at him as she said seriously, "We cannot rush to kill the remaining Watchers. We have to control them first. Then I will gather the Void power scattered across the Freljord, purify it, and only then can we kill the next one!"

"What happens if we kill them?" Logan asked Lissandra.

Lissandra drew in a cold breath and said softly, "Then this area... will become a new Icathia."

"These things are children of the Void to begin with. They share one mind, and all of them are part of the Void. When they die, the scattered Void power will spread across the Freljord and contaminate it.

"Then these areas corrupted by the Void will transform into places like Icathia. Hundreds, even thousands of years would not be enough to reverse it, and those places transformed into parts of the Void would give birth to countless weak Void creatures."

Logan instantly understood.

In other words... once a Watcher was killed and its power scattered, if it was not dealt with in time, it would be like building a nest?

Wasn't Icathia exactly like that?

Even now, Icathia was still a forbidden zone for humans. In the war between Shurima and the Void, Shurima had clearly been the winning side, but looking at it now, Icathia's Void still had not been cleansed.

Why had Jax wandered for a thousand years? Wasn't it to restore his homeland to what it had once been?

Icathia... twisted and mysterious, winding and horrifying. The earth was split open, up and down were inverted, the sky was filled with purple clouds, and the ground was covered in spiderweb-like fibers...

Fuck, Logan was almost laughing from sheer anger.

Why did the Void look more and more like a bug swarm the longer he looked at it?

Back when Riot Games designed the Void, had they really not borrowed from the StarCraft Zerg?

Logan did not believe it!

Those damn Riot Games people definitely stole something!

"You dare... kill... witch, you, you all!"

A garbled voice rang out in the hearts of everyone present. Above them, those two enormous hands had already broken through Runeterra's barrier, and the purple aura Lissandra had not yet finished cleansing surged toward the massive opening.

A cluster of tentacles stretched in, along with countless shining eyeballs.

Logan was not nervous, because Runeterra's spiritual boundary was blocking the Void.

Sure enough, the "strange creature" above them grew furious.

"Roar, roar... roar!"

Under the shrill roars that sounded like a wild beast, Logan narrowed his eyes.

Good. Runeterra really was magical after all. Otherwise, it would never have attracted Aurelion Sol's attention. But... could it really keep blocking this forever?

The Dragon King could crush Runeterra with a casual raise of his hand, and the Void's power definitely would not be weaker than Aurelion Sol's. Then... what if it truly flew into a rage?

But then again, the Void did not possess any extraordinary intelligence. If Lissandra had not sought power all those years ago and stirred the Void into unrest, the Void would still be chaotic, unopened, and deathly silent even now.

Logan looked at Lissandra beside him and was just about to ask a question when he saw Lissandra's small mouth suddenly open.

"Damn it!"

Lissandra, rarely showing tension, raised her fair hand toward the two Void creatures still fighting the Spirit Blossom gods in the distance.

"They're going to self-destruct!"

Lissandra shouted.

Logan instantly turned his head, and Ahri also flew out from beside him.

"We can't let them self-destruct, we can't!" Lissandra crossed through a spatial opening and instantly appeared above the eyeball Void creature.

She raised her hand and struck with her palm. Extreme ice gathered behind her and began suppressing the eyeball Void creature.

But... the condensed purple Void aura compressed into a sphere. The faceless Void creature's body continuously dissolved and broke down, then finally vanished under Cassiopeia's confused gaze.

"Dead?" The snake woman opened her mouth, her forked tongue slipping past her red lips to flick outside, as though searching for the Void's aura.

But in the next instant,

"Rumble!"

The compressed, condensed sphere of purple aura shot rapidly toward the eyeball Void creature.

Two tentacles broke out from beneath the frozen ground. Lissandra turned her head, not knowing when the eyeball Void creature had extended its tentacles into the earth.

Those two massive tentacles grabbed the purple sphere, and the eyeball Void creature's enormous body also began to dissolve.

Up above, the Void that had been cut off outside Runeterra let out a garbled voice.

"Come, all come... all come over here... If I cannot enter, then I will... bring you... out!"

"Logan!" Ahri, standing beside Lissandra, suddenly shouted.

Logan turned his head and saw a purple vortex only the size of an ordinary person's fist.

Then, just as Logan was about to react, that purple vortex instantly expanded. In a single instant, it spread outward, using Logan as its center as it unfolded in every direction into a semicircular curtain of sky, seemingly intent on swallowing nearly half of the Freljord.

The origin power of three Watchers. Three of them!

The Void was actually willing to discard the origin of the three Watchers that had reached Runeterra ten thousand years ago just to... take revenge on Lissandra?

If it did this, then everything it had planned before, its attempt to devour Runeterra, would no longer be possible, right?

Because the three Watchers were truly dead!

Although the Void could still split itself and give birth to new Watchers, origin power... As a demigod himself, Logan understood very clearly that even an existence like the Void could not simply cut that away on a whim, right?

"Witch, you... you..." the Void stammered.

Logan's body retreated, flying backward, but the purple curtain of sky had already swallowed several dozen miles of land.

And if it expanded any further...

Then it would already reach the places where the Freljordians lived.

Seeing that, Logan became helpless.

Sure enough, he had been a leader for way too fucking long.

He had told Silco and Jayce from the very beginning that they should not make him a leader, because he could not do it.

His personality was that of an ordinary person. After being pushed into that position for so long, he had slowly developed a sense of responsibility.

Responsibility...

What was responsibility?

It meant being ready at all times to clean up your own mess.

The lotus between Logan's brows bloomed fully, and Logan looked toward the Spirit Blossom gods.

Then he looked toward Lissandra.

The latter was frantically dissolving the power of the Void origin.

"Then... I'll take a trip into the Void." Logan smiled at Lissandra.

He pressed two fingers together against the lotus between his brows.

In the next instant, the power of the Spirit Blossom law blazed outward, and Logan forcibly severed the connection between the place he occupied and Runeterra.

"No!"

Ahri was the first to react. Before any of the other Spirit Blossom gods moved, she transformed into a flash of white spirit light. A moment later, at the final instant, she slipped into the severed space.

"Damn... damn it!"

In the sky above the Freljord, the curtain of heaven began to recover. The purple hue retreated, and the "Void" let out an unwilling voice.

This emotion... truly belonged to the Void. And its unwillingness was genuine too.

The Void had spent countless years slowly developing intelligence under humanity's influence. Of course it did not know how to scheme, nor was it cunning. Otherwise, it would not have been tricked by Lissandra like an idiot.

Therefore, this unwillingness truly was real.

And the reason for its unwillingness was because... after expending the Watchers it had in the Freljord and losing its future control over this place, in the end, the Void had only swallowed a few dozen miles of Freljordian land that contained no human lives, along with one weak demigod...

How could that not make the Void furious?!

Everything faded away.

The Spirit Blossom gods vanished as well. The moment Logan disappeared because of the Void vortex, Thresh and the others lost their connection to the material realm because Logan's spiritual power was no longer there.

"Liss..." Nilah appeared and looked toward Lissandra, only to see that Lissandra's beautiful face was calm.

"Are you okay?" Nilah hesitated before saying those words.

She could tell Lissandra's state was wrong. This... was not how Lissandra should have looked.

But Lissandra paid no attention to Nilah.

She merely stared quietly ahead.

Had they won?

They had...

The Void that had threatened Lissandra for tens of thousands of years had truly been uprooted from the Freljord this time. And it had not been killed and cleansed by her. The Void had... self-destructed!

Compared to the Void's flesh and blood contaminating the Freljord after being killed, forcing her to spend another ten thousand years cleaning it up, the Void's self-destruction had only taken away a few dozen miles of the Freljord, leaving behind a huge abyssal crater. This seemed like a good thing, right?

But... was it really a good thing?

Lissandra looked toward Nilah and said, "Go... tell the Twin Cities about this."

"Why me..." Nilah's face fell.

If he had been swallowed by a monster like that, how was Logan any different from dead?

Were they still supposed to expect Logan to survive?

How could that be possible?

So the task Lissandra gave her was basically telling her to go report Logan's death, wasn't it?

"If I tell you to go, then go."

"Or do you want me to go inform the Twin Cities, while you go to the celestial realm?" Lissandra said coldly.

"What? The celestial realm? You're going to the celestial realm?" Nilah froze.

But Lissandra had already flown out, heading toward Mount Targon.

"I will find you..."

"Logan."
