This story is shown from Aaron's point of view. The beginning of this story and the first few chapters of The Vampire Diaries series will be the same. Later on, the story will start to change from the original plot.

I woke up in the middle of the night due to thirst. I touched my neck. My throat felt as dry as a desert. I reached out in the dark, feeling along the nightstand until my fingers found the water bottle. When I grabbed it, I realized it was empty by its weight.
"Damn.."
I then turned on the light switch, but the lights didn't turn on.
"Wait are we having power shortage?"
I didn't pay much attention to it. I slowly got up and started walking out of my room to go to the kitchen to drink water. My eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, and I could see slightly. When I stepped out of my room, I started hearing sobbing. It was coming from Caroline's room.
"Caroline?"
I called her name, but she didn't reply. I slowly made my way into her room. When I went inside, I saw Caroline sitting on her bed, but only her back was visible.
"Care?"
I called her name again, but she didn't answer. I started having a really bad feeling about this. Every fiber of my body was screaming at me to run. My dry throat had never felt this dry before. I tapped her shoulder, and suddenly she looked at me. I jumped back when I saw her face. It was sinister looking. Caroline's skin had drained of color, her eyes had turned pitch black, and dark veins snaked across her face. Suddenly, she was behind me, and she bit into my neck.
"Ahh"
I woke up, breathing heavily. My whole body was covered in sweat, and my throat felt dry. I looked at my nightstand. There was a water bottle, and it was full. I grabbed it and started drinking. It took me a while to calm myself down.
I slowly got up to freshen up.
I saw Mom at the TV news.
"Liz forbes: I can confirm that a puma attacked a hunter and was subsequently killed. The hunter is in stable condition."
The animal was put down? That was good news. That meant no more animal attacks in Mystic Falls. We could finally return to our peaceful lives again. But why do I still feel uneasy?
The nightmare from today made me paranoid.
Bonnie:" You are taking Damon to the Founder's Party? What about me?
Caroline:"Go with elena"
Bonnie :"she's asking stefan."
Caroline:"Then go with Aaron."
Bonnie :"Oh, how thoughtful of you. By the way I'm noticing you and aaron are not hanging out as much as before."
Caroline:"Forget about aaron. Let's talk about other things."
Bonnie :"OK. Then what about your mom? Is she okay with you bringing Damon?"
Caroline:"And I'm supposed to care why?"
Bonnie:"He's older, sexy, danger guy."
Caroline:"Older, sexy, danger guy? Is that an official witch twitter tweet?"
Bonnie. :"No more witch jokes, okay? That Mr. Tanner prediction thing has me freaked."
Caroline:"OK. And Damon is not dangerous. You know he just has a lot of issues with his brother. You know, like major, deep-rooted drama."
Bonnie:"Like?"
Caroline:"I'm not supposed to say anything."
Bonnie :"Caroline forbes when did u ever keep a secret?"
Caroline:"OK but you can't tell elena."
I was putting the suit on the bed that Caroline had chosen, which I would wear after showering. Suddenly, my phone rang. I saw it was Bonnie calling, so I picked up.
[Aaron : hello Bonnie.
Bonnie : Hi. So when will u pick me up?
Aaron : Pick you up?
Bonnie :Didn't Caroline tell you?
Aaron : Tell me what?
Bonnie : That you are supposed to pick me for Founder'sParty.
Aaron : Wait i thought you were going with Caroline.
Bonnie: Well she said she will go with damon.
Aaron: But mom will be there. She wouldn't take Damon to a party where mom is.
Bonnie : I don't know. So are you going to take me or not?
Aaron: OK I'll pick you up after an hour.
Bonnie : That's great. I am at elena's . Bye.
Aaron: See you in one hour.]
[Call ended]
What was wrong with Caroline? She wouldn't take Damon Salvatore to a party where Mom would be. Recently, Caroline had been acting super weird. I took my shirt off and went to shower.
After the shower, I put on the suit Caroline had chosen. I tried to do my hair, but then I realized Mom and Caroline had always done it for me. I never actually learned how. I never realized growing up with a sister could be this much of a blessing. I left my hair as it was. It looked a little messy.
Then I left to pick Bonnie up from Elena's house.
I was standing in front of Elena's door when I saw Stefan arriving as well.
Stefan:"Hi aaron."
Aaron: "Hi."
Stefan :"Are you also going to the party?"
Aaron:"yes. I'm here to pick Bonnie."
Stefan :"I also came to pick elena up."
While we were talking, Elena opened the door.
Elena: "so both of you came at the same time."
Stefan:"yeah."
Elena:"can u both come inside and wait for a little bit. I and bonnie just need 2 more minutes."
Aaron: "sure. why not?"
We both went inside. I knew I shouldn't go into Jeremy's room since we weren't that close anymore, but peeking wouldn't hurt, right?
I knocked on Jeremy's door.
Jeremy:"come in."
I went inside.
Jeremy looked at me. "oh. So that's you."
Aaron:"Are you not going in the Founder's Party?"
Jeremy:"No these stuffs are boring."
Aaron:"OK."
We stayed silent for a while. Minutes passed without either of us speaking. Suddenly, Jeremy broke the silence.
"Nice suit"
Aaron:"Well thanks. Caroline picked it u--"
Jeremy:"This colour suits you."
Before I could reply, I heard Bonnie's voice from downstairs.
"AARON"
Aaron:"I gotta leave . Bye."
I left his room and went downstairs. Bonnie was waiting for me. I held my hand out and said,
"let's go then."
I met Mom after arriving and did the rounds—hosts greeted, polite questions answered, perfunctory smiles offered—before retreating to a quiet corner. Gosh, parties are a nightmare for introverts.
I was standing in a quiet corner when Damon Salvatore came and stood beside me. I didn't notice him at first, but then he said my name.
"Aaron"
I flinched and looked at him. I furrowed my brows. I didn't know why, but I didn't like this man.
Aaron:"what?"
Damon :"nothing I just saw you standing here alone. So I came to talk to you."
Aaron :"Thanks but I'm fine."
Damon :"Well if you say so."
I gave him a forced smile out of politeness. I watched him walk away.
"Asshole"
"Who are you cursing?"
I jumped and turned around. It was Bonnie. What was everyone's obsession today with sneaking up on people?
Aaron: "No one. It's just damon Salvator."
Bonnie :"yeah?"
Aaron:"Hmm"
The party was going smoothly—peacefully, even. At least at school parties you could play mobile games, but at formal parties like this, you could do nothing but stand still.
Ugh, this was so boring. I decided to go outside for some fresh air.
Outside, I saw Elena storming out with an angry expression and heading straight toward Damon Salvatore. Then I saw her slap him.
Elena:"There is something seriously wrong with you. You stay away from Caroline or else I'll go to her mom, the sheriff. Got it?"
Curious, I followed Elena.
Aaron :"Hey elena wait. What was that about?"
Elena stopped.
Elena:"Aaron. I---- when I pulled Caroline's scarf I saw bruises on her neck and all over her body body."
Aaron :"Wait . That son of a bitch hurt my sister? He is so dead."
I ran back to Damon.
"How dare you ,son of a bitch hurt my sister?"
I said this as I punched him in the face.
The impact made him stumble back, catching himself before falling. Damon must have been strong—most people didn't stay standing after one of my punches. I noticed people starting to stare, but I didn't care. I shoved him to the ground and started punching him.
I grabbed Damon by his collar.
"Mr. Damon Salvator you have some nerve to hurt my sister. Next time I see you near my sister again. And it won't stop by a few punches."
I left Damon and went to look for Caroline. Stefan stopped me.
Stefan:"Aaron.. Aaron wait."
Aaron:"what? Stefan did u knew what your brother was doing to my sister?"
Stefan:"it's hard to explain but I promise-"
Aaron : "so you knew . Huh . Both of you brothers are trash. One who hurts others and other one who doesn't stop the one."
Stefan : "Aaron just listen to me"
Aaron : "I don't care. I'm telling my mom. Damon will be behind the bars."
Stefan stepped in front of me. Stefan then looked at me in my eyes and said,"Aaron forbes I want you to believe in me. I will not let Damon hurt Caroline. I just want you to give me some time and don't tell your mom. I will handle these.So trust me."
Aaron : "ok. I trust you"
Stefan: "good."
Stefan then left.
"Ughh"I touched my head.
"Wait what happened"
My mind feels foggy. Whatever. I needed to find Caroline first.
Later, I saw Caroline hugging Elena and crying.
"What happened?"
I asked Elena, but she couldn't answer.
Later, Caroline and I went home together. We did meet Mom, but we just said we were fine.
Gosh, I really needed sleep. My head felt heavy.
As I lay down in bed, I replayed today's events in my head. Something felt confusing and wrong.
