Chapter 44 - Eriri Comes to Offer Thanks

Based on currently known information, there were still angels who were relatively easy to fool.

He just needed to ask, and he could find out how to use the angel halo.

"Eh? Kawashima, where did you buy that decoration?"

Kasumigaoka Utaha asked curiously, "This angel halo's light is so gentle, warm like the sun."

"Where did you get it? I'll go buy one when I have time."

"Just got lucky and found it," Kawashima Toya said calmly. "There's only one. You can't buy another."

"By the way, Utaha, why are you here?"

An angel halo wasn't some roadside trinket. Even his purchase of this one was a stroke of luck.

Gabriel had abandoned even her last shred of dignity, selling her most important halo.

Buying another one was virtually impossible.

After all, Gabriel only had one halo.

Toya turned to face the entrance and asked in surprise, "Utaha, why did you bring them here?"

Standing beside Utaha were two beautiful girls.

One was the "golden retriever loser" Sawamura Spencer Eriri, and the other was the unflappable "Grand Assassin" Kato Megumi, who remained calm no matter what happened.

"After such a major incident at Private Toyogasaki Academy, how could we continue classes?"

"We have a week off."

Utaha crossed her arms, examining the agency with interest. "Impressive, Kawashima."

"At first, I thought you were really struggling financially. I didn't expect you to have an agency so soon."

Seeing that the agency's name matched Toya's gaming handle, she was certain it belonged to him.

Utaha's intoxicating wine-red eyes filled with teasing. "Letting you stay in my humble abode must have been such an injustice to you."

"Not at all." Toya ignored Utaha's teasing and smiled. "That kind of experience is rare."

His tone carried a subtle weight, adding a layer of meaning that made Utaha flush with annoyance.

After a bit of banter, Toya stopped just before Utaha could explode and asked, "So, who are these two?"

Although he was incredibly familiar with the golden-haired loser Eriri and the Grand Assassin Kato Megumi, he didn't know them in reality.

His contact with Kato Megumi had been nothing more than a coincidental rescue.

Utaha sat down in the guest chair and huffed. "Kato-san wanted to express her gratitude to you."

"So I planned to bring her over, but that golden-haired tsundere followed us on her own."

"No matter how much I tried to chase her away, she wouldn't leave."

Eriri bristled instantly, baring her cute little canine teeth. "Fat woman, who are you calling a golden tsundere?!"

"Of course I came to express my gratitude as well!"

Utaha looked Eriri's petite figure up and down and sneered. "Even if you wanted to be a 'fat woman,' you couldn't, could you?"

"Sawamura-san, don't forget why you're here," Kato Megumi's airy voice drifted over just as Eriri was about to explode.

Eriri glared viciously at Utaha, then walked up to Toya and bowed ninety degrees.

"Hello, I am Sawamura Spencer Eriri, the one you saved."

"Thank you very much for saving my life. If not for you, I would have died."

Although the words felt a bit awkward, Eriri forced herself to say them despite her shyness.

"If there is anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask."

"I will do my best to fulfill it."

Toya smiled faintly. "Don't be so serious. Since I could save you, I naturally wouldn't watch you die."

"As for thanks, there's no need."

He didn't need anything from Eriri.

Currently, he lacked nothing.

Since the slice-of-life system upgraded to a supernatural system, it was more than enough to meet all his needs.

Any help Eriri could offer would be useless to him.

To the side, Utaha teased like the mistress of the house, "Golden retriever loser, don't be disappointed so quickly."

"Kawashima is a red-blooded young man. There are many ways you can help him."

The suggestive atmosphere instantly made Eriri, a doujin artist, imagine countless pink-hued scenarios.

"No way!"

"Absolutely not that kind of thing!" Eriri hugged her almost non-existent chest, her face turning crimson.

"Utaha, don't make jokes like that," Toya said, laughing and crying at the same time. "It wouldn't be good if she misunderstood."

Utaha's wine-red eyes flashed with a strange light. "Then, Kawashima, what about earlier?"

"You didn't even look away."

What happened in the morning had already happened; she wasn't that petty.

Although she was embarrassed and annoyed, it was in the past. She just felt a little bit of shame in her heart.

Toya's expression remained calm. "Why should I look away? Wasn't that a little bonus benefit you prepared for me?"
