Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 Today is a beautiful day

Looking at the numerous, mostly rare Pokémon Eggs before him, Lucas's heart bloomed with Joy.

However, he still asked, "Is this really okay, Sister Reese?"

"Stop dawdling, what are you worried about?"

Jenny slapped Lucas on the back of his head and then said, "These Pokémon Eggs were confiscated from the people you defeated. Your contributions are obvious to all. Besides, the League has already collected all the pseudo-legendary Pokémon Eggs in advance. You can pick freely from the remaining ones."

"Actually, I wanted to bring you some pseudo-legendary Pokémon Eggs, but the League didn't allow it. They said they'd only feel at ease if they were given to a larger Breeding House. But Sister Linnea and I have vouched for you. Next time, if we have any spare pseudo-legendary Pokémon Eggs, you'll be our priority."

Jenny first sighed, then continued to speak.

Hearing that she and Joy had vouched for him, Lucas felt a warmth in his heart.

Since it meant he would be prioritized next time, it was highly likely he would be. After all, the Jenny and Joy surnames were not ordinary.

"Thank you and Sister Linnea."

"No need for thanks. Just make more delicious food next time. Hurry and pick. I'll send the rest to Professor Rowan later."

Jenny said with a smile.

Lucas nodded, then bent down and began to carefully select.

Watching Lucas diligently pick, and recalling the events of this period, Jenny nodded with satisfaction.

"As an older sister, I have to fight for better treatment for my younger brother, don't I?"

Lucas smiled at her words.

Genuine emotion never needs many words.

From one-tenth off on Pokémon Eggs to now being able to pick them for free.

All the while, no words were needed.

Like Meloetta's song, it slowly flowed into his heart, nourishing and beautiful.

Lucas carefully picked out twenty, with Eevee being the first choice, followed by Magby, Scyther, Rhyhorn, Gligar, and other more common Pokémon Eggs.

"Finished picking?"

"Mhm."

"Alright then."

"Oh, Sister Reese, did you see something in the backyard just now?"

"What?"

"The forest has returned to its original state."

"?!"

Jenny was stunned by Lucas's words. She quickly went to the backyard but saw nothing. Lucas led her to the second-floor balcony, and looking out, the distant forest was lush and green.

"What... what happened?"

Following Lucas back to the backyard, Jenny asked in disbelief.

She followed Lucas's gaze and saw a Celebi flying in the air, directing Shauna and Dash as they arranged stones.

"Is that Celebi? When I came over to chat with Shauna just now, I was a bit confused, thinking I had mistaken it."

Lucas chuckled softly, then began to explain, "Last night, Vespiquen took us to the forest to watch a 'butterfly metamorphosis' feast, and Celebi was attracted to it. It used its power to help me restore the forest to its original state."

"Celebi."

Lucas called out softly.

Celebi flew over.

"Shasha~"

Shauna and the others looked back, saw it didn't concern them, and turned back to continue their work.

Lucas introduced Jenny to Celebi. Jenny, holding Petilil, looked at the adorable Pokémon before her.

"Thank you, Celebi."

Jenny smiled, expressing her sincere gratitude.

Feeling the genuine emotion from Jenny, Celebi happily flew around her a few times.

This was why it loved this place so much—a place full of love and sincerity, which was most attractive to people and Pokémon.

Shauna called out to Celebi. Celebi covered its mouth, bid them farewell, then returned to Shauna to continue helping.

Jenny fiddled with Petilil's leaves, staring intently at Lucas.

"What's wrong, Sister Reese?"

Lucas felt a little scared under her gaze and asked weakly.

"Did you... catch Celebi?"

Hearing Jenny's question, Lucas shook his head.

"No."

Lucas shook his head and continued, "Celebi is revered as the God of the Forest. It appears when the forest needs it, and its life is destined to be a continuous journey through the river of time."

"It is free; this place will only be a temporary stop on its long journey."

Jenny nodded, "Yes, such a cute Pokémon. To meet is fate, isn't it?"

"Mhm."

Lucas and Jenny looked at Celebi, who was helping Shauna and enjoying itself, and both smiled simultaneously.

Returning to the front, Jenny had her police colleagues load the remaining Pokémon Eggs into the car. After returning Petilil to Lucas, she mounted Arcanine.

"Keep up the good work, Lucas. We'll come over for dinner in a couple of days."

"Don't worry, Sister Reese, you're always welcome."

Jenny gave him a punch, then rode Arcanine away, with the car carrying the Pokémon Eggs following behind.

Watching her disappear, Lucas returned to the Breeding House. Looking at the Pokémon Eggs before him, the smile on his face couldn't be suppressed.

"This is wonderful, Petilil."

Lucas gently stroked the leaves on Petilil's head and said softly.

"La Ji~"

Seeing Lucas happy, Petilil was also happy.

"Gengar, a little help!"

Gengar found a place to put down the cat ears it was holding, then helped Lucas move all the Pokémon Eggs into the incubation room and arrange them one by one. It even took out a clean towel and carefully wiped each Pokémon Egg.

"Once we sell these Pokémon Eggs, we'll have money, Gengar, Petilil."

"Gen gar—"

I want to buy more delicious food (๑´ڡ`๑).

"La Ji~"

Placing Petilil on the counter, "Petilil, I'll continue to rely on you to look after things."

"La Ji~"

Lucas then walked into the kitchen, preparing to try making some new snacks.

He watched Gengar, who had picked up the cat ears again and was eating them, follow him closely.

"What are you doing?"

Lucas stared at it intently.

"Gen gar—"

Throwing two cat ears into its mouth, Gengar pointed to the bamboo shoots lying on the ground in the backyard.

"I'll take care of them later."

"Gen gar..."

Looking at Gengar drawing circles in the corner, Lucas rolled his eyes.

"If you're going to pretend, at least make it convincing, okay? Who draws circles while still eating cat ears?"

"Gen gar—"

Crunch.

"Get up."

"Gen gar..."

I don't want to.

"Get up first."

"Gen gar."

I'm not listening.

"In that case, I was just about to try some new snacks before dealing with the bamboo shoots, so we could eat both. But since a certain Pokémon doesn't need them, I'll go ask Dash if he wants them."

Lucas sighed regretfully, then opened the window.

"Da... Ugh..."

Gengar covered Lucas's mouth, then waved its hand at Dash and the others who were looking over.

"Not pretending anymore?"

Prying Gengar's hand away, Lucas licked his lips—they were full of the salty flavor of cat ears. He gritted his teeth and pulled Gengar's mouth corners to the sides.

"Kou... Jie..."

"Come help me work, all day long."

"Gen gar!"

"Put the cat ears down first."

"Gen gar—"

No way!
