Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Her poise and personality then shifted, "I'm glad to know that my Hokage isn't such a heartless man." She then took a knee. "I, Tsunade Senju, pledge my undying loyalty to you, my Hokage, Anthony Grey."

I blinked twice, before getting off my seat like my ass was on fire before taking a step forward to accept her pledge. "I, Anthony Grey, accept your pledge of fealty.

She stood with a beaming smile, and I returned the same before leading her back into my home. As I made us some tea, Tsunade worked around my home, familiarizing herself with the place. When I brought her some mint tea, I found her standing in my living room, looking through the huge double-pane windows that showed the massive tanker blocking the bay.

Tsunade took the cup of tea as she took in the world around her. She took it all in with the cars driving by and the gunshots from gangs in the distance. Tsunade then waved her tea cup at the massive ship in the distance. "This city is never going to be the same, is it?"

Standing at her side, I sighed, "No, this world will never be the same. I was given a reason for being sent here which is fine, but I'm an American, and my country is under siege." I stated before turning to look her in the eyes, "That is completely unacceptable, I made an oath, and even if this is no longer my America nor am I in the service any longer, I swore to defend my nation against threats both foreign and domestic."

Tsunade gave me a nod as she went back to finishing her tea. After my little speech, I honestly felt a lot better. Sending my tea cup floating away, I got to cleaning up the mess that was in my living room. I didn't have to do much because Telekinesis was just that good, also a little fun as I crushed the burnt couch into a compressed ball the size of a microwave.

With everything cleared up, I put on some actual pants instead of the jumper I was wearing and had Tsunade get into the passenger side of my truck. It was time to go grab a few things.

The music played low in the background as my pickup truck rumbled down the messed-up road of the city. Each bump, each shift in the body made me think up more and more elaborate upgrades for the thing. With a snort, I forced down my excitement as we pulled to a stop at a light.

With a grimace, I blinked away the loose memories as they finished settling in, a friendly reminder that I had a bastard of a super being looking over my shoulder and could squash me at any moment. What he had given me was a proper background to fit in but it was clearly still missing a background for Tsunade. Slowly pressing the gas, the truck lurched forward as my new life settled into my brain. I was now a union-man, and not just any union man. I was part of the dockworkers association, yeah, I could work with that. Already plans were filtering through my mind on how to take advantage of such a connection.

Now I had a cleaner way to solve the tanker issue instead of just making a power move. Yet, no matter what anyone said, moving that tanker would still look like a tanker moving to an outsider. For me, though, I just wanted to see my city live again.

Pushing aside those melancholy thoughts, I frowned at the sight of some gangers. With a nudge and head motion at them, Tsunade also watched as they tagged the side of a building. This was honestly too close to home if I was being truthful. Not even a mile from my house. Granted, there were turns and street lights, but it was still far too close for comfort.

That would need to change, urgh, did I really need to wear a mask? As I thought about it, I also realized that I didn't really have anything to lose. I would need to build defenses around my house, but anyone I summoned would be able to defend themselves. Then there was also the little fact that I had no family in this reality other than those I chose to call such.

The tap on my shoulder pulled my attention towards her as Tsunade pointed out the flying cape overhead. Dauntless flew and right below him and a couple feet back was Miss Militia on her bike. Seeing them ride and fly by, I gave Tsunade a nod in return as we went on our own way.

It didn't take us much longer to get to my local supermarket. Tsunade was rather happy with the available feminine products while I was happy I finally went shopping to get more food into the house, coupons for the freaking win. Yet, as we shopped for the things necessary for life in the modern world. I just couldn't get what the ROB had done.

I was well over my upset mood of being transported and being given a forced obligation. No, that wasn't what was on my mind. It was how easy it was for the ROB to just return to reality and insert me into this setting was on my mind. That with the Rick and Morty show. Something about what the ROB did tickled at my hindbrain. Retcon, something about that just wouldn't get out of my head; things clicked as the memories and ideas slotted into place, but I was interrupted as I almost ran into another person's shopping cart in the parking lot.

"Oops, that's yours," I said with a sigh, just three vehicles over from my own.

Tsunade quickly grabbed the cart that rolled back from the lady with brown hair. Inside the car, I saw a guy dealing with a kid in a stroller.
