March 7th straightened her back and knelt dazedly on the floor.
Under the glaring light, she first rubbed her eyes with her delicate little hands, then looked around.
The first thing that met her eyes was a girl in a baseball cap and tracksuit, gripping a pistol tightly, staring at her in total shock.
This scene made March 7th—still kneeling—widen her eyes:
"Th-That, who are you… Wait, why are you pointing a gun at me?!"
Pela opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but the words stuck in her throat.
It was a very strange feeling.
But speaking of which—why was March 7th the one sleeping on the floor?
"Achoo—!!"
March 7th sneezed, rubbed her nose, and looked around with red-rimmed eyes.
Aside from this strangely dressed woman, the place didn't seem to be her original room at all.
"?"
She first looked down at her pajamas, tugged at them with her snow-white little hand, and muttered:
"No problem here… Wasn't I sleeping in the space station? How did I end up here?"
March 7th dazedly lifted her head to look at Pela. She placed her hand on her chest and felt around, as if something was missing from her arms.
"Huh? Where's my Peppy?!"
She hurriedly stood up and started searching everywhere for that small white furry figure.
It had taken so much effort for Asta to finally let her take care of Peppy for a day—if she lost Peppy now, she'd be dead meat!
"Peppy, where are you?!"
Barefoot in her pajamas, March 7th paced back and forth in the room, rummaging through the wardrobe, drawers, and under the bed—but found no trace of Peppy.
Then she shifted her gaze to the bed.
"…"
There sat that certain someone in pajamas, cucumber slices on his face, looking very relaxed as he took a bottle of drink from the nightstand and leisurely sipped it.
March 7th stared blankly for three seconds. Her mind went completely blank.
Then… she completely ignored that certain someone.
She shouted everywhere:
"Peppy? Peppy! Peppy, where are you!"
Hearing March 7th's call.
From under the blanket beside that certain someone suddenly rose half of Peppy's figure. She lay together with him against the pillow, cucumber slices over her eyes, comfortably reclining there.
She stretched out a paw and reached toward the nightstand.
That certain someone immediately understood and handed her a bottle of drink, even placing the straw in her mouth.
"Baby, you got scared." That certain someone said guiltily.
"Aung aung~"
Pela's eyes widened in disbelief. She aimed the pistol at that certain someone again and shouted:
"What the hell is this?!"
"Huh?" That certain someone looked confused.
"Why in the world is this pet dog sleeping on the bed while Miss March 7th is lying on the freezing cold floor?!"
Hearing this, March 7th jolted awake.
She suddenly became much clearer-headed.
"Wait—this voice is Pela?"
March 7th looked around, her pink-blue eyes widening: "How the heck did I end up in Belobog?"
She tried hard to recall her previous memories.
…
Late at night.
She remembered.
March 7th had been hugging Peppy, soundly asleep in her room.
Suddenly, a white light screen appeared beside the bed.
Peppy in her arms suddenly opened her eyes wide, excitedly crawling toward it—but March 7th held her tightly.
Seeing Peppy not arriving, a hand reached out from the light screen, groping around until it found the fluffy Peppy, grabbed her paw, and pulled her in.
The owner of the hand was, of course, that certain someone.
In his room in Belobog, that certain someone was beyond excited to see General Peppy.
He immediately kicked the pink-haired accessory off Peppy with one foot and cheerfully introduced the luxury meal set he'd bought to Peppy.
Until the human and dog were both stuffed full, no one noticed the girl lying dazedly asleep on the ice-cold floor.
Once the light went out, the room fell silent again.
…
At this moment, March 7th—barefoot in pajamas, pink-blue eyes wide—stood in front of the bed and cursed loudly:
"Damn it! You bastard… If you wanted to find General Peppy, fine! But why the hell am I the one on the floor?"
"Huh?"
That certain someone was completely baffled now. He scratched his head in confusion:
"How are you even here? I didn't see you earlier at all."
"You didn't see someone as big as me? Are you blind or what—what exactly can those dog eyes of yours even see!"
"I could see that General Peppy's been looking pale lately, so I wanted to treat her to something good to nourish her."
March 7th and Pela looked at the pile of packaging bags on the nightstand—clearly, the human and dog had already eaten quite a lot.
"No wonder… No wonder I dreamed I was eating fried chicken, but I was actually just smelling your food!"
"Well, isn't that kind of nice too, actually…"
"Get lost! One of us is dying tonight!"
Then the two started fighting.
"…"
Pela stood there dumbfounded, holding the little white dog, and couldn't help swallowing.
Zeig and March 7th grabbed pillows. Both of them with ferocious expressions engaged in berserker-style mutual beating in the room!
Down feathers from the pillows flew everywhere, scattering like falling snow throughout the room.
Pela sniffled, looking utterly dazed:
"I… what exactly did I come here for?"
Her gaze involuntarily fell on Zeig, who was currently beating March 7th. His face was twisted ferociously, seizing every chance to land a heavy blow on her.
March 7th wasn't one to be intimidated either. She dodged his swing with a sidestep, then leaped high, delivering a soaring dragon strike.
Pela: "…"
Outside the door.
Three figures were lurking there.
Cocolia clutched the doorframe, poked her head in, and sighed:
"What are young people thinking these days? Letting a beautiful girl sleep on the floor while giving a pet dog meticulous care—what kind of psychology is that?"
Below Cocolia's chin, Bronya's head also poked out:
"I-I really thought the Executor had fallen. Bribery, finding ladies… Good thing it was just a false alarm."
Serval also poked her head out from the side, frowning:
"Actually, there's nothing wrong with it, right? There's a woman in the room, isn't there?"
Cocolia pursed her lips:
"What's the difference from there not being one? Even the dog has a bed to sleep in."
"Hm?" At this point, Bronya—in pajamas—began glancing at Serval beside her.
She too was in pajamas.
"Serval… why are you in Qlipoth Fort at this hour?"
"Oh, I was sleeping in Cocolia's room today. Heard the noise and came to watch the drama. Hey, you guys have to admit—that little white dog is pretty cute, huh."
…
Originally, Zeig and March 7th had already finished fighting.
March 7th demanded he send her back, and that certain someone agreed—but then March 7th still demanded Peppy back.
That certain someone absolutely wouldn't agree.
So.
The two started beating each other again.
"…"
"…Tonight one of us isn't leaving alive!"
"Fine, come on! I finally got a little money— what's wrong with wanting to treat General Peppy to some fun? You vicious woman, how cruel!"
"You motherf—! Tonight not even Jesus can save you…!!"
The crowd watching outside the door grew larger and larger.
…
