Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 This Is What a Seed Candidate Looks Like

"Is the workplace relationship here really that tense?" Aha frowned.

Herta Space Station.

At this moment, the scene here was extremely chaotic.

It was no longer just a simple voting activity.

"What do you few mean? Is it really that sour for you if Young Master Zeig becomes an Emanator? I've really lived long enough to see this."

"Heh, Wen Shiling, don't think I won't curse you just because you're younger than me. How much better can you be? Aren't you just waiting to cling to Master Zeig's thigh if he really becomes an Emanator? Don't tell me you're clean—look at how many people with the surname Wen are in the Materials Department!"

"Exactly, bringing that family monopoly stuff into the workplace, tsk tsk tsk."

"Don't you start yelling at me either. In the entire space station, you're the best at slacking off. People like you are simply the scum of society!"

The scene was extremely chaotic.

Even the people on the Astral Express were troubled at this moment.

"The resentment here is way too heavy." March 7th retreated to a corner, whispering to Dan Heng.

"The system here does indeed have some shortcomings." Dan Heng said indifferently.

Unexpectedly, just a vote that the Aeon of Elation started on a whim could cause the space station researchers to erupt with such contradictions.

"I'm not saying I don't support Brother Zeig, but that older guy just now said that if I vote B, he'll treat me to milk tea. Whether Brother Zeig becomes an Emanator or not doesn't really benefit us much, but this cup of milk tea is real!"

"Damn, who is it bribing votes with milk tea? Is it worth it?"

"Just jealous, that's all. Enough said—where do I claim the milk tea?"

"..."

Aha on the screen had his eye corners twitching constantly.

Good grief, people are even campaigning for votes.

He looked at Zeig, who was sitting nearby picking at his feet, and asked puzzled: "Are these your corporate slaves? They're really interesting."

Zeig also glanced outside and said helplessly:

"Sigh, whatever. Didn't you say the masses' eyes are sharp and bright? What, are you regretting it now?"

Aha covered his forehead, almost laughing from anger:

"Heh hahahaha... Kid! I believe justice is in the hearts of the people—black will never be white! I want to see just how much they can go against their conscience!"

"Now, I'm extending the program time!" Aha's gaze grew deeper.

Two days later.

Herta Space Station.

This was a huge stage.

Dazzling lights shone on Zeig's face, making him feel a bit uncomfortable.

The stage was divided into three areas.

At the very top, Herta was propping up her small face, sitting there very helplessly.

"You guys are really bored." Herta pouted, helplessly looking toward the guest seats on the left and complaining.

In the center of the stage, Asta held the microphone, introducing enthusiastically:

"Ladies and gentlemen, hello everyone. Welcome to the annual selection segment at Herta Space Station. I am the station master, Asta."

"This program is sponsored by our special guest, the Aeon of Elation Aha. Everyone, give a warm applause to welcome—!!"

The entire venue erupted in enthusiastic applause.

"Clap clap clap clap clap—!!"

All the researchers sitting in the audience seats were incredibly excited—this was a genuine Aeon.

The lights shone on the guest seats to the left, and Aha stood up, confidently waving in all directions.

"Thank you~ Thank you for your love!"

Asta walked over to Aha's side, handed over the microphone, and blinked her big watery eyes:

"Hello, Mr. Aha. Do you have anything you'd like to say to the audience friends?"

"Humph." Aha glanced at the researchers in the audience seats, hands propped on the table, cursing angrily:

"I believe justice is in the hearts of the people. I didn't expect things to develop to this point. This kid Zeig is obviously a lunatic—what is there to argue about this? Sometimes I really don't understand you humans. Today, I want to see just how low your bottom line can be!"

The researchers in the audience looked at each other—some shouted support loudly, some were indifferent, and others dug in their ears as if they hadn't heard.

At this moment, Zeig looked over.

Asta quickly handed the microphone over:

"Hello, Mr. Zeig. As the person involved in this incident, do you have anything you'd like to say to the audience friends?"

Faced with such a grand scene, Zeig appeared a bit reserved at this time. He stood up blankly, gave the crowd the middle finger, and said shyly:

"Everyone, my character as Zeig is something I'm sure you all already understand. If I were to say it myself, I absolutely could not have any mental issues! All related statements are slander, all rumors—everyone, please do not believe them!"

"Ehhh~~~~" Aha sitting next to him couldn't help but raise his middle finger in mockery.

The audience seats below also erupted with even more enthusiastic boos.

"It seems everyone agrees with my words, so I won't say more. The masses' eyes are sharp and bright—let's wait and see!" After saying that, Zeig sat back down.

Asta said excitedly:

"Okay, we've heard the views from both guests. Next, let's hear the opinions from the judges' panel."

She happily ran to the right side.

Sitting on the right were none other than the Astral Express crew.

"Hello, Himeko. May I ask your opinion on this incident?" Asta smiled politely.

"Eh, my opinion?" Himeko slowly stood up, smiling very gently:

"I think this matter is hard to say. As for Zeig's mental state, everyone has their own view. A thousand people have a thousand Hamlets, right? Discussing it now doesn't have much meaning—let's let the final vote results present it to us intuitively."

Asta nodded, saying very happily:

"Himeko's view is very fair. Let's thank big sister Himeko for her speech!"

Saying that, she took the lead in clapping.

The applause from the audience seats below followed one after another.

"Clap clap clap clap clap—!!"

The entire venue erupted in enthusiastic applause.

It had to be said that the previous speeches from Zeig and the Aeon of Elation were heavily colored with personal bias.

While Himeko's words were indeed more objective and fair.

"Good, next is the following judge."

Asta handed the microphone to March 7th, saying excitedly:

"Hello, little March. Can you share your opinion on this incident?"

It was March 7th's first time participating in such a large event. The lights suddenly shining on her face made her seem a bit nervous.

"Ah, ah, opinion—oh right, opinion." She slapped her forehead and immediately said loudly:

"Zeig's mental state is obviously abnormal! Anyway, I voted A earlier. I really don't know what psychology the people choosing B and C have!"

"Swish!" Hearing March 7th's speech, Aha immediately stood up excitedly, clapping continuously:

"Well said, little girl! Nowadays, normal people like you are really rare... Some certain people here besides you should all consider the Path of Elation. Stop pretending— I really can't stand you acting like gentlemen."

The audience seats fell silent for a moment.

Did this count as being acknowledged by the Aeon of Elation? Should they be happy or sad about it?

"I... can I join?" Unexpectedly, a researcher in the audience really raised his hand. He stood up with a shy face.

The entire venue was silent for a few seconds.

Aha cursed: "You're even politely asking? You definitely won't do! If you're still that normal, how can you achieve a grand undertaking?"

Then, he looked at Zeig again.

"Little Bright, give him a show!"

"Got it!"

Upon hearing that, Zeig leaped up, directly jumping onto Herta's presiding platform at the very top.

Herta: "..."

He did a high backflip, then landed steadily on the presiding platform with a "thump."

Herta's hair strands swayed accordingly.

Herta: "..."

Aha raised an eyebrow, pointing at Zeig and excitedly saying to the audience seats:

"Did you see that? This is what a seed candidate looks like! Everyone choose A—did you hear that clearly?!"
