Chapter 17 - The Girl in Glasses ( 17 )

Haruki narrowed his eyes. "Mom..."

"What? I'm telling the truth! Just trust me!" Kyouko crossed her arms, glancing up at Haruki who shook his head.

"I don't think this is going to work, Mom..." Haruki exhaled.

"We never know if we don't try yet!" Kyouko looked at him, her eyes pleading.

"Fine... let me have a look at your 'plan' first."

"No... just sign it first and then read it."

Haruki looked into her eyes. "Mom... you're going to regret this later."

"No way I'm going to regret it. I'm sure this will work." Kyouko put both hands on her hips with confident smile.

"Fine... don't blame me later." Haruki signed the notebook. "You sure you won't take back your own word?"

"I won't. Don't worry." Kyouko happily took the notebook after Haruki signed. "We're going to start after this~" Kyouko said while walking toward the door, her hips swaying as she practically skipped out of the room, the towel shifting dangerously with each step.

Haruki just looked at her while shaking his head and slumped back in his chair, running a hand through his hair.

She has no idea what she just agreed to...

Kyouko stopped at the door.

"Haruki~ Wear something nice and casual, okay?" she smiled while looking at Haruki.

"Yeah, yeah... I will."

"Meet me downstairs, I'll tell you the plan~" Kyouko headed out the door and closed it.

Haruki shook his head.

I know how to talk to girls, Mom. If I wanted, I could have had a lot of girlfriends long ago.

It's just I don't want to yet. More like I still haven't met the girl I really want.

Because...

Meanwhile, Kyouko walked back toward her room across from Haruki's and headed inside, walking toward her wardrobe.

He already agreed and can't take back his word since he already signed it.

Now what should I wear?

Since Haruki said he likes modest girls... should I go with a long-sleeve blouse and long dark skirt?

Hmm... I think I'll wear the same thing as yesterday... Kyouko looked and raised the blouse, glancing at it.

She opened her notebook again and read. I think I'm going to be a girl he met at the library. A quiet, studious type who wears glasses and reads a lot. That fits what he said he likes.

Kyouko smiled to herself, feeling excited about the roleplay. She put on her bra and panties, then slipped into the white long-sleeve blouse and long black skirt. She looked at herself in the mirror, adjusting the collar and smoothing the fabric over her curves.

She tied her hair into a high ponytail, exposing her elegant neck.

Mm... I don't think I need any makeup.

Alright...

She reached into her drawer and found an old pair of reading glasses she used for detailed work. Putting them on, she looked at her reflection.

No... not this one...

Hmm... how about this one?

Hmm... no... not really good.

She looked at one type of glasses, thin black frames that gave her a sophisticated, intellectual look and put them on.

This looks good. Kyouko puckered her full, naturally pink lips.

She reached for her phone and took a selfie of herself, tilting her head slightly to capture her best angle. The glasses made her look like a college student, young and studious.

Perfect. Now I need to create that LINE account.

Ah... but I already have an account and Haruki already added me.

This won't make it real...

Kyouko exhaled. I wonder if I still have my old phone. Kyouko checked drawer after drawer, rummaging through old receipts, forgotten accessories, and outdated electronics.

Where did I put it?

Kyouko kept searching but couldn't find it.

I guess I'll ask Haruki about it. She headed out of her room and knocked on Haruki's door.

"Haruki?" Kyouko called softly.

Kyouko heard footsteps from inside. The door opened, and Haruki glanced down at her.

His eyes widened.

She really wants to take this seriously. And she looks so beautiful and cute like this. The glasses make her look like a college student, the high ponytail showing off her elegant neck, the modest outfit somehow making her curves even more tempting.

"Do you have an old phone I can use?"

"What for?" Haruki swallowed hard, looking at how beautiful Kyouko was in those glasses and that high ponytail.

"I want to create a new LINE account for this." Kyouko asked, trying to push his door open.

Haruki exhaled. "We already have LINE and already added each other, right?"

"Yeah... but it won't be real if we use our regular accounts. I need to be a new girl you just met on a separate account, with a different profile picture and everything. That way, you can practice texting a girl you just met."

Haruki shook his head. "You're really going all out with this..."

"Yes. I read about it, and the only way to make you confident around women is if we take this lesson seriously." Kyouko stood there, looking up at him with those beautiful eyes, her full lips slightly parted, completely unaware of how stunning she looked.

Haruki couldn't help but notice how perfect she looked.

"Alright, Mom..." Haruki opened the door and headed to his drawer while Kyouko followed him.

Haruki took out a new phone, still in its unopened box.

"Haruki? You bought a new phone? Isn't this expensive?" Kyouko looked at the box, the latest premium model released month ago.

"Yeah, I ordered it a month ago." Haruki handed it over to her.

"But if you give me this, what about you?" Kyouko took the box and looked at it.

"Don't worry, Mom. My current phone is still good."

"No... I don't need a new phone. This is for your use." Kyouko tried to hand it back, but Haruki just exhaled again and took out another identical phone, still in its unopened box.

"I accidentally ordered two, so don't worry about it, Mom. I was planning to sell it back, but I haven't had time. But since you insist on this 'lesson,' just take it or I won't participate in your plan."

Kyouko smiled. "Okay~" She tilted her head and glanced up at him, one finger on her full lips. "But how are you able to afford this? Not to mention two."

"Mom..." Haruki narrowed his eyes. "Didn't I say before that I've been saving money since I was in high school?"

"Oh... right... anyway, since we both have new phones, install new LINE and register new accounts~ alright?" Kyouko smiled and took the phone. "After you're done, go downstairs, okay~" Kyouko said while waving the box toward Haruki and headed out gracefully, her hips swaying as she walked away.
