Chapter 11 - Shopping (2)

"What can a pauper like you buy?"

Everyone turned to look at a young man dressed lavishly, with gold accessories covering his body.

Long Tian glanced at everything he wore; he knew it was all fake—mere flashy items.

He didn't bother replying, for silence is the best answer to a fool.

"I'm sure this can solve everything." He took out the black bank card and showed it to the female sales associate.

When she saw it, her eyes widened in shock.

Most of the crowd was confused by her reaction.

Those who recognized the card opened their mouths in astonishment, which only deepened the confusion of the others.

Even the young man adorned with accessories found it unbelievable.

The heavy silence frustrated those who did not understand—until someone finally spoke, satisfying their curiosity.

"Isn't that the black supreme card given to certain wealthy people?"

The words sent a ripple through the once-confused crowd. Their mouths fell open as they looked at Long Tian in a new light—it turned out he had been lying low all along.

The female sales associate's expression changed, becoming respectful… and fearful.

They trembled inwardly; such people were not meant to be offended.

The black bank card was a symbol of wealth and status.

When Long Tian saw her expression, he knew his aim had been achieved.

"Humph, who doesn't know this can be forged? You can fool others, but you can't fool me. If you have such money, why are you dressed like that? Or did you steal the card?" The young man snorted in disdain.

His words made the female sales associate hesitate; the crowd fell into thought, finding his reasoning plausible.

It was true. If Long Tian were truly wealthy, there would be no way he would dress like this—even his shoes were old-fashioned.

They were more inclined to believe he had stolen it or perhaps found it somewhere.

Long Tian looked at the young man and asked, "Are you stupid?"

The young man froze, anger flashing in his eyes.

He forced himself to calm down. "Are you afraid that I'm telling the truth? Hmph, such low-level tricks."

Long Tian was amazed by how foolish this young man could be.

When had he shown even a trace of fear? He had merely asked a simple question.

Ignoring him, Long Tian turned to the female sales associate. "It's easy to confirm whether I'm lying. If I'm not the owner, there's no way I could enter the password and gain access to it."

The crowd found his words reasonable, though the young man continued to gloat.

"But… sorry, we don't have access to check the balance on this bank card," the female sales associate said apologetically.

"Then let me buy what I want, and you can verify it afterward," Long Tian replied calmly.

The sales associate hesitated. The crowd thought this was the best solution—but one person disagreed.

"I wonder how humiliated you'll be when the truth comes out," the young man sneered.

Long Tian remained indifferent. He only needed to wait for everything to unfold.

The sales associate initially intended to take him back to the clothes he had been viewing earlier, but he asked to be shown their most expensive section instead.

Originally, he had planned to wear something simple for the interview—but Meng Lingxue's words echoed in his mind.

After a moment of hesitation, the sales associate decided to lead him there.

If he bought something, it would benefit her. If not, he would simply face humiliation.

In her heart, she doubted he could afford much.

But only a few minutes later—

"Take this too."

Silence fell.

The crowd and the sales associate stared at him in bewilderment.

Their minds reeled as they watched Long Tian select piece after piece of expensive clothing, each costing no less than 100,000 yuan.

"Sir…"

"Don't worry. This will cover it." Long Tian raised the black bank card once more.

The crowd had followed them. Seeing the items he chose, they shook their heads in disbelief.

They refused to believe he carried such wealth.

If he did, why was he dressed like that? Surely, he was just putting on an act.

The young man with the gold accessories grinned coldly. In his eyes, Long Tian was merely pretending—an act that could not fool him.

"I think it's better to call security before he runs," he smirked, signaling for them.

Two burly men entered, positioning themselves at the entrance and blocking the exit.

Their imposing presence filled the air, forcing some in the crowd to instinctively step back.

They looked at Long Tian and shook their heads at his apparent misfortune.

With such a thin frame, how could he possibly stand against security?

Long Tian picked out clothes and accessories worth close to 10 million yuan.

By now, most of the crowd had lost hope in him, waiting for him to make a fool of himself.

The young female sales associate operated the withdrawal machine, carefully placing the black bank card into its slot.

Long Tian entered the password and was surprised to see that it required a fingerprint as well.

A trace of worry flickered through him, but he still pressed his finger against the scanner.

The crowd waited for the word "declined."

Instead, they were slapped in the face when the machine announced, "successful."

The female sales associate was stunned.

She quickly composed herself and said, "Thank you for patronizing us."

Long Tian nodded and flashed her a faint smile as he retrieved his card.

The young man covered in accessories trembled in disbelief. He had never imagined such an outcome.

"Impossible, this is fake. Do you loan—"

PAH!

A resounding slap echoed through the store as Long Tian could no longer tolerate it.

The young man stood stunned, clutching his cheek, struggling to endure the burning pain.

Long Tian's eyes turned icy. He released a small fraction of his killing intent toward the young man, causing him to freeze in absolute terror.

The air itself seemed to grow colder. Even the crowd—though not directly targeted—felt the sudden shift in the atmosphere.

The security guards rushed forward when they saw this, but with a single move, they were subdued, their arms twisted and broken.

Fear spread instantly through the crowd.

"What's your name?" Long Tian asked coldly.

The young man trembled violently and wet himself. Only he was fully subjected to the pressure of Long Tian's killing intent.

Though it was merely a fraction, it was enough to crush his will completely.

"Fan… Fan Yun…" he stammered in terror.

Long Tian glanced at the liquid pooling on the floor and the soaked trousers.

Any remaining intention he had vanished at the sight.

"Such a weakling," he muttered.

With that, he swaggered away, carrying his packaged clothes and accessories.

He was certain his message had been delivered.
