Chapter 29 - 28. Demon King?

In the quiet academy corridor, Matthius walked with Louis. The other students had already returned to the dormitory a few minutes ago, leaving a friendship like oil and water between Louis and Matthius. Actually, Louis wanted to return to his dormitory, before Matthius called him by force.

As a result, Louis was annoyed. Sam had promised to take him around the city square, but it was canceled because a Sam was helpless in the face of the crown prince. Before darting away as fast as a flash of light, Sam told him to hold back all of Louis's anger at Matthius. Louis obeyed and followed Matthius's wish.

"What is it that you are calling me?" Louis asked, curtly.

Matthius stopped his steps. "Louis, for today allow me to be absent from training."

Louis also stopped his steps, turned back to look at Matthius. "Why? Are you already bored and too pathetic?"

"My younger sibling fell sick, and I want to be there for him." Matthius explained with a tone of voice that was no longer flat.

"Alright."

Matthius raised his gaze, looking at Louis in surprise. "Just like that?"

"Then, what must I do?"

Matthius walked a little ahead of Louis again while saying, "At least you scold me or prevent me so that training ends soon."

"Are you demanding that I pay attention to you?" Louis stopped in front of Matthius and looked at him suspiciously.

Matthius averted his gaze in another direction, "N-no. Why are you so confident that I hope for something like that? Huh."

Louis showed a teasing face, "Your shy kitten face is quite cute too, Your Highness."

Matthius's steps became slower upon hearing it. "W-who is shy kitten?" He evaded, flustered.

Louis walked ahead while laughing a little loudly. "Alright, alright big brother Mathew."

"Hey, my name is Matthius, you know!" Matthius started to get annoyed.

"Ah, ma—"

"—Louis!"

Gruduk!

Bruk!

Louis looked up, seeing Matthius with a shocked reaction that had not disappeared from his face. His body had been hugged tightly by Matthius. He could feel the beat of Matthius's heart that was beating fast. Then around him, it was filled with people who were scattering out.

"Are you alright?" Matthius asked while releasing Louis's body from his embrace.

"Calm down, I am fine. But, what is this?"

Matthius pointed forward, showing cracked earth spreading in various directions. Then, his gaze was drawn to the sky, looking at a mysterious floating figure who was laughing very happily. Apparently... not unfamiliar. White hair with horns and deep red eyes. His skin was as white as snow and his face was handsome. Also, that beautiful black wing flap... Leviathan! He is Leviathan!

"What is this?" Niel asked who had just arrived and approached Matthius after seeing him among the crowd of academy staff and teachers. Then, his eyes widened seeing what they were looking at. "The Demon King!"

Louis's face frowned displeased. "What is this? A light mage attack then the King of Darkness? And again, this..."

"Demon king? Is he the Demon King?" Matthius asked.

"No! Where is there a Demon King as ugly as that? Huh, damn!" Louis muttered with a very, very annoyed tone.

"You all... Look at how my power is! Bow down, you lowly creatures." The figure who manifested himself as Leviathan shouted.

"For what desire do you show yourself after a hundred years of staying in your world?" Niel asked with his voice as loud as possible.

Leviathan looked at Niel from up there. "Long time no see, great Elf Sir." He greeted with an arrogant tone.

"Where is there a Demon King's style as tacky as that!" Louis protested in his heart, with a low intonation that sounded cold.

Niel steadied his gaze so it wouldn't tremble. "L-long time no see too, Demon King Leviathan."

"Oh, it seems there is something interesting." Leviathan now approached Matthius, standing between him and Louis. "What is this? Is it true that the magical energy surrounding him is light mana? Amazing!"

"Go away." Louis dismissed with his cold expression.

Leviathan stared intently at Louis. "Who are you? It's a shame if your sweet face has a cold expression."

Louis pushed away Leviathan's hand that was about to touch him. "Go away."

Leviathan moved away from Louis, flying back up in the sky with his arrogant style. "I came just to see the upper world so my boredom would disappear. Regarding the intention to destroy the world, that has not crossed my mind yet. So, you all calm down. I really came just to look around." He explained.

"Nonsense!" Niel shot several arrows of light at Leviathan, but they were erased first before they could approach him.

"Didn't I already say I came just to see? Don't do violence to a good person."

"Bastard!" Niel's first curse that was heard.

"Ah, my time is up. See you again another time." He glanced at Louis, then...

Wush...

The Demon King who came as if he just wanted to seek attention disappeared. People whispered discussing about him until Niel's sharp aura silenced their mouths. Niel's footsteps approaching continued to feel pressing on them. The smile that was usually seen on the Elf man's face had faded.

"He is Demon King Leviathan who defeated seven light heroes and me a hundred years ago. Pay attention carefully, because behind it he is a monster whose limits are unknown."

"Do I need to make preparations?" Gernad asked, the vice head of the academy who was quite old but whose observation skills were extraordinary. He used to be just a small beggar before being found by Niel and swore loyalty. His appearance was like that of a scholar.

"No need." Niel answered. "Don't start a useless war again."

"Then, what, Sir?"

"Tomorrow, I will meet him."

"Are you crazy, huh?"

"No—"

Louis kept listening to their conversation until Matthius's call diverted him. "What is it?"

"Was that really the demon king?"

"I don't know. I don't know him."

"Your way of speaking seems like you are annoyed at something."

"Just your feeling."

"Is that so."

"But, is it true that Sir Niel will go to the lower world looking for the Demon King?"

"That..." Matthius hung his words to be able to think for a moment.

"If you can't, then you don't need to answer it." Louis's voice sounded flatter.

"Can I go home now?"

"Please."

"Thank you."

Louis watched Matthius's departure with a cheerful face no longer visible. That face was now cold. His eyes gazed sharply straight ahead. Someone had disturbed what they shouldn't have disturbed, making what was behind that mask about to show its true form. But, luckily sanity was still the winner.

"Where is the bastard who dared to mess with him...?" Louis grinned annoyed.
