The woman didn't answer immediately. Her eyes lingered on Rafe for a few seconds as if weighing his words against her own judgment. Then she turned her attention back toward the battlefield.
Her expression sharpened as she forced herself to focus past the chaos.
At first, it looked like nothing more than scattered movement. Bodies clashing, weapons colliding, fire and blood spreading in every direction. But once she narrowed her gaze and filtered out the noise the pattern revealed itself clearly.
She saw him.
Myles moved through the battlefield with terrifying clarity. His presence cut cleanly through Red's forces with his two blades rising and falling in a continuous motion that never slowed. Every step he took left dead bodies behind and his attack ended in death before resistance could even form.
Her eyes narrowed further. Then she shifted her gaze to the other side of the battlefield.
