As Em stepped outside and saw a young girl of about sixteen peeking behind the door when she saw Em, she looked startled.
Em's breath caught in her throat. The girl was beautiful, not in the picture perfect way but in a pure way like an angel. She had soft platinum blonde hair that cascaded down her back like a fountain of moonlight. Her features were soft and her skin was as pale as new fallen snow. Her blue eyes shone like sapphires.
Em got over her shock quickly. "Who are you," she demanded.
The girl was surprised too, at being caught but she smiled sweetly at Em. "I'm Selene. And I want to go on the quest."
Em looked at her. "Are you fricking nuts? Why would I invite you on my quest? I don't even know you!" "But the headmaster told you to gather a team of five. You already have two members, including yourself. I think I will be quite useful on this quest since I have healing powers. After all, this is quite the dangerous quest, isn't it?"
Em looked at the young girl skeptically. "I guess you could be useful on the quest. But I need to see the candidates first. I don't want to be traveling with you."
"Oh please, there's no one else who has my powers. It's better to just invite me on the quest now before I change my mind."
Em was starting to really hate this girl. "It's like you forgot your manners on the floor. You should pick it up" Em walked away. As she walked past, she bumped into Selene's shoulder. "You should remember that you are the one who wants to go on this quest. I'm not indebted to you, so watch what you say."
Em went into the cafeteria. She was seriously pissed but some good food always cheered her up. She spotted Ri in the corner and sat down next to her with a tray full of grilled salmon sandwiches, a small slice of strawberry cake and some mashed potatoes.
Em sat down and she explained to Ri about the quest and Selene. When she finished, she asked Ri "Would you like to come? I still need two more quest members if I'm going to invite Selene."
"I mean she seems like a jerk, but she could be useful if anyone gets hurt right? And sure, I'd love to come."
"Great. But maybe I have a talent for magic. I mean, our powers don't get revealed until we study in the academy right?
"Sure, that sounds great. I'd love to come with you to the library but I have to finish an assignment. See you later."
Em was walking down the hall lost in thought about finding their next quest member when she bumped into someone.
