Chapter 31 - Chapter 22: The Live Begins Pt. 3

Main Stage

Hatate stepped forward once more, her tone sharp and commanding. "Peaky P-key really made a strong first impression! But our next group promises to leave an even bigger one!"

The crowd hushed, drawn in by her voice.

"Formed by four childhood friends who were separated for years-now reunited by fate and music-they're here to show the bond that transcends time. Ladies and gentlemen, Leo/need!"

The spotlights flared again, illuminating Ichika and her friends. The four took their places as the crowd cheered.

Ichika stepped forward, gripping her microphone. "We are... Leo/need! Let me introduce the members! On keyboard, Tenma Saki!"

"YAY!" Saki smiled brightly, her fingers dancing over the keys in a cheerful riff.

"On bass, Hinomori Shiho!"

Shiho strummed a deep, powerful note that echoed through the room, her face cool and composed.

"On drums, Mochizuki Honami!"

Honami gave a twirl of her sticks and hit a short, upbeat pattern that made the audience clap in rhythm.

Saki then turned toward Ichika. "Guitar and vocals, Hoshino Ichika!"

Ichika strummed her guitar confidently, the notes pure and clean. She took a breath, then smiled softly. "And finally... guitar and vocal-Hatsune Miku."

The crowd blinked in confusion. There were only four girls on stage. A quiet murmur rippled through the audience-until a ripple of blue light appeared beside Ichika.

And there she was.

Hatsune Miku-her long teal hair flowing like digital silk, her uniform blending seamlessly between physical and holographic textures. A guitar shimmered into form in her hands as her eyes glowed faintly, alive with personality.

The audience gasped. Even in the VIP area, jaws dropped.

Ran leaned forward, eyes wide. "What the hell..."

Maya grinned in awe. "That's... so cool..."

Chisato looked stunned. "Maya-chan..."

Misaki exhaled slowly. "Is that what I think it is?"

Rui folded his arms, his sharp eyes narrowing with fascination. "You're absolutely right. Miku's an A.I."

Kanon nearly squeaked. "An A.I.?! But how do you know that?"

Tsukasa nodded solemnly. "Because Miku's also a member of our troupe-Wonderlands x Showtime. But this... this is new. They've gone public with her existence."

Rui's voice lowered, thoughtful. "I wonder what led to that choice..."

Nene tilted her head. "Maybe the owner of this place knows."

Emu beamed. "That's a great idea, Nene!"

Before more could be said, Tomoe gestured toward the stage. "Shh. It's starting."

Onstage, Ichika stepped up to the mic, her expression calm and steady despite the anticipation weighing on the air. She looked out into the lights, toward Riku, toward the world that was watching.

Then, in a quiet but confident voice, she said a single word-one that carried the weight of her resolve.

"needLe."

And with that, the lights burst into motion, and Leo/need's story began-humans and A.I. united through sound, proving that music could transcend the limits of what either could do alone.

The moment the final note faded, the stage was consumed by applause and cheers. For the first time, the audience had witnessed something extraordinary-humans and an A.I. performing together in perfect harmony. The mixture of awe and excitement rippled across the hall as phones were raised, cameras flashing like a constellation of admiration.

Up in the VIP area, Dendi leaned forward, visibly amazed.

"The vocalist's voice... it's so gentle," he murmured, his gaze locked on the stage.

"Not just that," said LighTOfHeaveN, nodding in agreement. "The A.I.'s tone blends with the band so naturally. It's like they were made for each other."

XBOCT gave a low whistle. "So what-you're saying they're a perfect fit?"

Artstyle crossed his arms, smirking faintly. "Exactly. This kind of chemistry? It's rare. Bands like that don't break apart easily."

Their words hung in the air as the light dimmed slightly on stage. Ichika stood at the front, her hands trembling just a little as she tried to catch her breath. Sweat trickled down her forehead, and for a brief second, the weight of performing in front of such a massive crowd almost overpowered her.

Shiho stepped closer. "Can you go on, Ichika?"

Ichika nodded slowly, her breathing steadying. "Yeah... I just need a moment."

Honami smiled gently. "Remember, we're here for you, Ichika. Always."

Ichika looked at her bandmates-Shiho, Saki, Honami-all standing firm beside her. That small, unspoken bond between them gave her the courage she needed. She turned toward Saki, who met her eyes with a reassuring grin and a nod.

Ichika exhaled softly and raised her microphone. "Stella."

The crowd erupted again as the opening chords filled the air. The second performance flowed smoother, more confident-Ichika's voice now carried a warmth that resonated beyond the stage, while Miku's crystalline tone danced perfectly alongside it. Together, their harmony formed a sound that transcended the boundary between human and artificial, emotion and algorithm.

By the time the last note echoed into silence, the audience was on its feet. The cheers came louder than before, and for a fleeting instant, the members of Leo/need stood stunned under the bright lights, realizing what they had accomplished.

Behind the stage, Riku watched everything from the wings with a faint, proud smile tugging at his lips. His eyes softened as he took in the sight of humans and an A.I. performing together-a dream his late mother had long spoken of.

"I wish you could see this, Mother..." he whispered, his voice barely audible beneath the echo of applause. "Your dream is finally becoming reality."

When he turned back, Ichika and the others-minus Miku-were already heading toward him. Their faces glowed with exhaustion, excitement, and disbelief all at once.

"Very nice work out there," Riku greeted, his tone both warm and measured.

"Thanks for the praise, owner-san!" Saki grinned, raising a hand. "Put it there!"

Riku chuckled, meeting her high-five with a firm slap.

Ichika hesitated before asking, "How was our performance?"

"It was perfect," Riku replied without hesitation. "Your voice and Miku's blended beautifully. Honestly, I didn't expect you to have such a powerful and emotional tone, Ichika."

Ichika's cheeks flushed scarlet. "T-thank you..."

Saki leaned close, elbowing her teasingly. "Oh-ho, is someone developing a crush?"

"Saki!" Ichika protested, mortified. "It's not like that!"

Before Riku could intervene, Miku's voice suddenly echoed through the large backstage monitor. Her image flickered onto the screen, apparently having hijacked the feed just to appear before them.

"Bad Riku!" she pouted playfully. "Don't tease Ichika!"

Riku raised a brow. "I wasn't teasing, Miku. I was being honest." Then, his tone softened again. "But still, you all did wonderfully. Now, head back to the waiting room and call Poppin'Party over, okay?"

Leo/need nodded, still buzzing from adrenaline as they made their way out. But before Riku could step away, Miku lingered on the screen, her expression turning uncharacteristically serious.

"Riku," she said softly, "may I ask something?"

He turned back to her. "Go ahead."

"Did I... make my creator proud?"

For a moment, Riku's expression faltered. He exhaled quietly, then met Miku's gaze through the glowing monitor.

"She is proud," he said finally, his tone heavy with quiet conviction. "Even if she's not here anymore, I know-she'd be damn proud of you. This performance is the first step toward the dream she always wanted to see."

Miku's eyes shimmered with an almost human emotion. "Thank you, Riku. I'll keep working hard to make her dream come true! I'll return to the SEKAI now. See you again soon!"

Before he could respond, her image flickered out, leaving the screen to its normal state. Riku sighed with a faint smirk. "Good grief... she really does take after her creator."

He turned-and found a familiar group standing by the door, instruments in hand, ready and waiting.

"Good timing," he said. "You came early, Poppin'Party."

Kasumi stepped forward with an exaggerated salute. "Poppin'Party, reporting for duty!"

Arisa immediately smacked her lightly on the back of the head. "Don't be such a dork."

Riku chuckled. "At ease, private. No need to be tense. Just do your best out there, and I'm sure you'll shine."

"Hai!" Kasumi grinned brightly. "We'll make you proud, senpai!"

Riku turned to Arisa, still smiling. "Is she always this energetic?"

"Only today," Arisa replied with a sigh. "She's been hyped all morning. Honestly, I'll take it."

Riku's gaze shifted to the others. "Rimi, are you okay?"

The bassist nodded nervously. "Y-yeah... I just need to calm down a bit."

"Don't worry," Riku said reassuringly. "You've got your friends with you. You'll be fine."

He turned to the other two members. "Tae, Saaya-how are you feeling?"

Saaya offered a weak smile. "Honestly? Pretty nervous. This is our first time performing in front of a crowd this big."

Tae placed a hand gently on Saaya's shoulder. "Like senpai said, we've got each other. Right, senpai?"

Riku gave a nod of approval. "Exactly. Now, take your positions and wait for Hatate's signal. Good luck out there."

"Hai!" the girls chorused in unison.

As they disappeared toward the stage, Riku lingered for a moment, watching them go. There was something pure about their energy-unpolished, but genuine. It reminded him of why he started this in the first place.

A moment later, Hatate's voice echoed across the venue once again.

"Now we're at the halfway point of the event!" she announced enthusiastically. "Our next performers are a fresh band just entering the scene-but don't let that fool you! Their potential is boundless. Everyone, please welcome... Poppin'Party!"

The lights flashed, and the curtains rose to reveal the five girls in formation.

Kasumi took the microphone, her energy contagious even from afar. "Lead Guitar, Hanazono Tae!"

Tae strummed her guitar effortlessly, waving at the crowd with a serene smile.

"Bass, Ushigome Rimi!"

Despite her nerves, Rimi managed a shy grin and played a few bright notes, earning a cheer from the audience.

"Drums, Yamabuki Saaya!"

Saaya twirled her sticks and gave a warm smile before hitting a quick rhythm.

"Keyboard, Ichigaya Arisa!"

Arisa struck a series of crisp notes, her composure hiding the spark of pride beneath.

Kasumi turned last toward the crowd, her grin wide and genuine. "And finally-Guitar and Vocal, Toyama Kasumi! And together, we are... Poppin'Party!"

The cheers erupted once again, shaking the venue with excitement. The girls exchanged a collective nod-nervous but ready. Kasumi's eyes shone under the bright lights as she stepped forward.

"Let's do this! Teardrops!"

And with that declaration, the sound of Poppin'Party's opening chords filled the hall, signaling the next surge of energy in CiRCLE's first live event.

The final notes of Poppin'Party's first song reverberated across the arena, sparking a thunderous roar from the crowd. Cheers, applause, and even some tears from the fans echoed throughout the dome. Up in the VIP area, professional musicians and producers exchanged approving looks. They could feel it - the sheer emotion and drive emanating from the girls' performance. Even the scouts, usually cold and calculating, were visibly impressed.

Meanwhile, in the waiting room, Roselia, Raise A Suilen, and the others observed in quiet concentration.

Sayo leaned forward slightly, her eyes following the screen. "Toyama-san and the rest have improved. Don't you think so, Minato-san?"

Yukina nodded, her arms crossed in a reserved manner. "They've exceeded my expectations... but-"

Rinko blinked curiously. "But what, Yukina-san?"

Before Yukina could reply, Chiyu spoke up, her tone sharp. "They're still immature."

The remark drew the others' attention toward her.

"Immature?" Rokka repeated, puzzled.

"They haven't seen the true side of the world they've stepped into," Chiyu explained, her expression serious. "They're still kids in the eyes of those who've chosen this path for real."

Shinobu smirked faintly. "I have to agree with the gremlin on this one."

"Hey!" Chiyu shot back instantly, but Kyoko waved her off with a chuckle.

"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet," Kyoko said, leaning back casually. "They still have another song to go."

The scene cut back to the stage.

Kasumi raised her mic, grinning with that signature infectious energy. "I'm glad you liked the first song! Let's keep it up-Time Lapse!!!"

The crowd erupted once more as the lights flared, and the performance surged to its climax.

Back in the waiting room, Roselia, Raise A Suilen, Peakey P-key, and Leo/need watched Poppin'Party's final song conclude. Yukina and Chiyu, both discerning in their critiques, couldn't help but smile faintly in approval.

"Che," Chiyu muttered with a small smirk. "Looks like I'll have to take back what I said earlier."

"My thoughts exactly," Yukina agreed quietly. "Toyama-san showed us what she truly intended."

"Same as always... Kasumi," Kyoko said, smiling softly.

Yuka tilted her head. "You say that like you know her."

"Of course I do," Kyoko replied, chuckling. "We go way back. She used to drag me all over the place. It was a pain, but... kind of fun. When she sets her heart on something, she'll always see it through."

Ako's eyes widened. "Wait, you two are childhood friends?"

"Yup," Kyoko said with a grin. "Aside from Shinobu, Kasumi's one of them too."

Shinobu let out a dramatic sigh. "So you have another one..."

Esora smirked mischievously. "Are you, by chance, jealous, Shinobu~? Your dear Kyoko getting taken away by-"

Shinobu's glare was sharp enough to cut steel. "Talk, and I'll kill you."

Esora shut her mouth instantly, while Chiyu stretched and stood up. "Anyway, enough talk. RaS, we're next. Let's move."

Raise A Suilen stood and exited the waiting room, heading backstage with confidence and quiet determination.

Meanwhile, at the rear of the stage, Poppin'Party gathered around Riku, glowing with excitement.

Kasumi beamed. "We did well, didn't we, senpai?"

Riku smiled proudly. "That was a fantastic performance from all five of you. The transition you pulled off at Time Lapse caught me off guard - in a good way. I'm proud of you all."

Kasumi's face turned a shade of pink, her grin turning bashful. "Hehehehe~"

Seeing her expression, Riku acted on instinct - reaching out to gently pat her head.

Kasumi froze, wide-eyed.

Arisa and the others gawked. "R-Riku-san?!" Arisa stammered.

Riku quickly pulled his hand back, embarrassed. "Ah-sorry, instinct. You okay, Kasumi?"

"I-I don't mind... just, maybe warn me next time..." she murmured shyly.

Before anyone could respond, a familiar voice came from behind them.

"Be grateful," Chiyu teased. "Not everyone gets a headpat from Riku."

They turned to see Raise A Suilen standing at the backstage entrance, ready to perform.

Riku smirked. "Looks like you're ready for war, Chu²."

Chiyu flipped her hair confidently. "More than ready. Can't wait to show that pink gremlin who the better group is."

"Easy there," Riku warned. "Kasumi, you and the others should head back and rest."

Kasumi nodded cheerfully. "Okay! Good luck, ROCK!!"

Once Poppin'Party left, Riku's attention shifted to Rei, who seemed quieter than usual.

"Something wrong, Rei?" he asked gently.

Rei blinked, caught off guard. "N-No, it's nothing... don't mind me."

Riku gave her a reassuring look. "Don't bottle things up. If you ever need to talk, I'm here - when I've got the time, at least."

Rei chuckled softly. "I'll take you up on that offer... thanks."

"Anytime. For now, focus on your set," Riku said, folding his arms. "Show me why Chu² chose you."

Rei smiled faintly, eyes gleaming. "Hai. I'll show you... and I'll make sure your eyes are always on me."

The words caught everyone off guard. The backstage area fell silent, eyes flicking between Rei and Riku. The tension in the air felt suspiciously like a confession.

Realizing what she had just said, Rei's face turned crimson as she buried her face in her hands. "F-FORGET WHAT I SAID JUST NOW!!"

Chiyu immediately burst into laughter. "HAHAHAHA! You really went for it, LAYER!!"

"OW!!" she yelped as Riku delivered a quick chop to the head.

"You're too loud," he warned flatly. "The crowd might hear you. And Rei-" He paused, softening his tone. "Don't worry. I'll be watching."

That only made Rei blush harder, and Chiyu's laughter resumed - until Riku gave her one last sharp glare.

"Alright," he said, stepping back. "Formation time. Give it everything you've got."

The group nodded firmly. A few moments later, Hatate's voice echoed across the stadium.

"Now we're down to two! This band brings together some of the best young talents Japan has to offer. Together, they're here to shake the world-please welcome Raise A Suilen!!"

The lights dimmed, then exploded into a cascade of color as Raise A Suilen stepped onto the stage. Chiyu gripped the mic, her grin fierce.

"We are... Raise A Suilen!! Guitar, LOCK!!"

Rokka unleashed a riff that sent a thrill through the crowd.

"Drums, MASKING!!"

Masuki followed up with a blazing drum solo, ending it with her trademark grin.

"Keyboard, PAREO!!"

Reona twirled her hair before striking the keys in rapid, radiant bursts that matched her dazzling smile.

"Bass and Vocal, LAYER!!"

Rei closed her eyes and strummed her bass, her calm focus pulling the crowd's attention. She lifted her mic with quiet confidence.

"And DJ... Chu²."

Chiyu spread her arms as she faced the audience. "Like Hatate said, this is our debut! I scoured Japan for the best young talents - and I found them. Together, we're going to take the top! So listen up!" Her grin widened, eyes blazing. "GET READY, WORLD-RAISE A SUILEN IS COMING FOR YOU!!"

The arena erupted into chaos - cheers, chants, and screams filling every corner.

Up in the VIP box, the pros exchanged intrigued glances.

"Confident, aren't they?" Dendi remarked.

Kuro smirked. "This might be more interesting than I thought."

XBOCT leaned back with a grin. "She basically challenged us. So... how do we answer that?"

Dendi chuckled. "Let's see what they've got first."

Back on stage, Chiyu grinned as the roar of the audience washed over her. She knew this was only the beginning.

She turned toward Rei and raised her hand. "LAYER. Do the honors."

Rei stepped forward, her expression fierce yet calm. "It would be my pleasure."

The crowd held its breath.

The final note of R·I·O·T exploded across the hall, and the roar of the audience was nothing short of electric. Raise A Suilen's debut had struck the venue like lightning - a bold statement of raw talent and precision that few expected from a band so new. The crowd's cheers rumbled like a storm, waves of applause rolling through every seat, every balcony.

Above the stage, the other bands watched in awe, their expressions telling the story better than words could.

Maya adjusted her glasses, chuckling softly. "As expected of KING... uhehehehe~"

Tomoe crossed her arms, eyes glinting with excitement. "Didn't think Masuki was that good. I wanna challenge her to a Taiko match someday."

Hina clapped her hands together, her enthusiasm bubbling over. "Did you see that, Eve-chan? PAREO-chan played three keyboards - just like Riku-kun!"

Eve nodded firmly, her tone proud and spirited. "I know! Like master, like student! So Bushido!"

Misaki sighed, leaning against the railing. "Hanazono-san was right. Wakana-san's voice... it's the real deal."

Tsugumi smiled, tilting her head toward Ran. "And it's a lot more mature than yours, Ran-chan."

Ran didn't seem offended - in fact, she smiled faintly, her amethyst eyes fixed on the stage. "I can see why nii-san chose them."

Meanwhile, the professionals seated in the VIP gallery exchanged knowing glances.

Kuro let out a low whistle. "Is that girl really fourteen? She's working that turntable like a veteran."

Amer leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. "And that PAREO girl - her keyboard style reminds me of Iku."

Dendi smirked, his eyes lighting up. "This is getting exciting... maybe Japan should be added to the circuit next year."

As the crowd began to settle, the stage lights dimmed again. Rei stepped forward, her posture strong and deliberate, and waited until the arena quieted. Her soft voice echoed into the microphone.

"EXPOSE... Burn out!!!"

And just like that, the flames rose again.

The performance burned bright and fast - three minutes of pure energy, each note sharper than the last. When the final chord struck, the hall erupted once more, louder than before.

Backstage, Riku had been watching with his arms folded, his expression calm but his eyes shining with pride. He closed them briefly, listening to the crowd's roar.

"They really didn't disappoint," he murmured to himself. "They made one hell of a first impression."

When he opened his eyes again, he noticed Roselia already waiting by the curtains.

"Oh? You're here early," Riku said with a smirk. "There's still time, you know."

Sayo gave him a knowing glance. "Udagawa-san was... a little impatient."

Ako was practically bouncing on her feet. "It's finally our turn! I can't wait to let loose!"

Lisa chuckled. "Just don't go overboard, okay?"

Masuki appeared from the other side of the hall, wiping sweat from her forehead. "Ah, you're already here? I thought Riku was gonna call for ya girls. Guess we don't gotta do that."

Chiyu stepped forward with her usual confidence, folding her arms. "Well then, Minato Yukina - how did our band perform?"

Yukina regarded her quietly for a few seconds. The younger girl's tone was challenging, but there was something earnest behind it.

"Your band truly is the real deal," Yukina replied calmly. "Just as Riku-san said back then."

Chiyu grinned. "Told you we're legit. Anyway, we've warmed up the stage for you - end this with a bang."

Yukina smiled faintly at the little one's words. "Say less."

With that, Raise A Suilen departed for the waiting room, their debut still buzzing through the air like static, leaving Riku and Roselia alone backstage.

Riku looked over the five girls, their expressions resolute. "I guess this is it."

Yukina nodded. "Indeed. But this is only the first step of Roselia's journey."

Riku's voice softened. "Then there's no need for more words. You already know what needs to be done. Get in position - and good luck."

Rinko stepped forward slightly. "Thank you... Riku."

He smiled gently and placed a hand on her head, giving her a reassuring pat before turning away. With one last glance, he left for the VIP area as Roselia began their preparations.

The moment he entered the viewing section, murmurs followed him. Fans and musicians alike recognized him instantly - not as a performer this time, but as the man responsible for the event's success.

Ran leaned forward over the railing. "This is it... Roselia's up next."

Tomoe nodded. "Pretty sure everyone's eyes will be on them now."

Tsugumi was busy helping Himari with her camera setup. "How are the photos looking?"

"Perfect!" Himari replied. "The lighting's beautiful!"

Then, before Riku could even take another step, someone called out his name.

"Look who we have here~ Riku-san is here to join us~" Moca teased, pointing in his direction.

Before he could respond, a blur of blonde and energy crashed into him.

"Onii-chan!!"

Riku caught Kokoro just in time, steadying her before she could tumble over. "Whoa there! Careful..."

"Hehehe~" Kokoro giggled, pulling back. "Oh right! Onii-chan, I want you to meet my friend - Emu!"

A girl with bright pink hair and eyes full of wonder bounced forward, followed by three others.

"So you're the onii-chan Kokoro keeps talking about!" she exclaimed. "WONDERHOY! I'm Otori Emu! Pleasure to meet you, Riku!"

Riku chuckled. "First name basis already? Sure, why not. Nice to meet you too, Emu."

"Now that we know each other," Emu continued excitedly, "these are my friends! The one with the flashy hair is Tsukasa."

"Sup!" Tsukasa grinned. "Tenma Tsukasa!"

Riku blinked. "Tenma? So you're Saki's brother?"

"Yup!" Tsukasa said proudly. "Saki's my precious little sister! Anyway, that's Nene."

A quiet girl nodded politely. "Kusanagi Nene..."

"And I," said the tall one with purple hair and a calm expression, "am Kamishiro Rui. Pleasure to meet you."

Riku smiled. "Pleasure's mine, Rui-kun."

"'Kun'?" Rui raised an eyebrow.

Riku chuckled. "I've got another friend with the same name. Old habit."

"Understandable," Rui replied.

"Anyway," Riku said, adjusting his jacket, "I'm glad you're all enjoying the event. As the owner, that's what matters. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a few guests to check on. Enjoy the main event."

After saying his goodbyes, Riku continued his rounds - until he spotted a familiar figure in the corner of the VIP section.

"Miyu?" he said, surprised.

The pink-haired girl turned, smiling warmly. "Riku-san! What a coincidence!"

"So you're in the VIP area too?"

She nodded. "One of my friends gave me their ticket. I didn't want to miss this. What about you? Doing inspections?"

"As the owner, yeah," Riku said lightly. "Gotta make sure everyone's having a good time - and take notes for future events."

"I see. Must be a lot to handle."

He smiled faintly. "I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. But I'm managing."

Miyu's expression softened. "Are you enjoying the show?"

"I am," Riku said, glancing toward the stage. "And you?"

"Yes," she replied, her tone earnest. "The atmosphere here is different from performing ourselves."

That caught Riku's attention. "Performing?"

Miyu nodded. "I'm part of the DJ group Lyrical Lily."

Riku blinked. "So you're a DJ too, huh?"

"Hai," she said with a shy laugh. "Normally I'd be with my group, but... one ticket, you know?"

"I see," Riku said, smiling faintly. "Well, it's been nice talking to you, Miyu. I get the feeling we'll run into each other again."

"I feel the same," she said softly. "Then - until next time."

They exchanged a polite bow before parting ways.

Riku soon found himself at another corner of the arena, where Mafuyu and her group sat.

"How are you four holding up?" he asked.

Mafuyu looked up. "We're fine, nii-san, but... Kanade isn't doing too well."

Riku's gaze followed her hand - and there was Kanade, pale and trembling, her breathing uneven.

"What happened?"

Mizuki shrugged. "She's not used to crowds this big. She'll get used to it eventually. But damn, this place is booming."

Riku smiled wryly. "It's not sold out, but... yeah, I'd call this a success." His eyes turned back to the stage. "They're starting. Pay attention - you might learn something."

Hatate's voice thundered through the speakers, silencing the crowd.

"And now... the moment you've all been waiting for - the main event! These five young girls have it all: talent, skill, dedication, devotion, and the passion to reach the top! Tonight, they'll prove why they deserve it! Will they make you all devoted to them? Only one way to find out - Roselia, onstage!!!"

The arena lights burst into life as Roselia appeared, silhouettes framed by purple and blue brilliance. Hatate remained onstage for one last flourish.

"Yukina-san," she said, glancing at the vocalist, "may I?"

Yukina studied her for a moment, then looked to her bandmates. They nodded.

"Very well," Yukina said. "You may."

Hatate's face lit up with excitement as she raised her mic once more.

"Now, the members! Guitar - Hikawa Sayo!"

Sayo stepped forward, delivering a crisp riff that sliced through the air.

"Bass - Imai Lisa!"

Lisa strummed confidently, winking toward the roaring fans.

"Drums - Udagawa Ako!"

Ako's sticks blurred as she unleashed a rapid-fire solo, the crowd answering with cheers.

"Keyboard - Shirokane Rinko!"

Rinko's fingers glided gracefully across the keys, her melody soft yet commanding.

"And finally... vocals - Minato Yukina!"

Hatate bowed and exited the stage as Yukina stepped into the spotlight, her voice calm but powerful.

"Thank you for the introductions, Himekaidou-san. Now-let's not delay this any longer."

She raised her microphone.

The final notes of Black Shout echoed through the hall, leaving a trembling silence in their wake. For a brief moment, no one in the VIP section moved or spoke. The pros sat frozen in their seats, eyes wide, trying to process what they had just witnessed. The stage lights dimmed to an indigo hue, glinting across the sweat-slick instruments and the unwavering poise of five young girls who played like veterans of a hundred stages.

Dendi broke the silence first, his voice low, almost reverent. "Ayo, Kuro... you saw that, right?"

Kuro leaned forward, elbows on his knees, watching Roselia take a humble bow before the audience's thunderous applause. "They're good," he muttered. "Young... but damn good. How come Japan doesn't have any pros like that playing internationally?"

Before anyone could answer, another voice entered the conversation from behind them - calm, steady, and unmistakably familiar.

"Because Japan's only been on the rise for the past few years."

They turned to see Riku approaching, his expression composed but his eyes reflecting quiet pride.

Amer smirked. "Where were you, man? You vanished after the first act."

"Backstage," Riku replied simply as he joined them. "Had to check on a few things. As I was saying-Japanese music's starting to get noticed only recently. For years, K-pop's been the giant standing in front of it, blocking the light."

He crossed his arms, his gaze fixed on the stage where the girls were preparing for their next song. "It's not just about popularity. There were... cultural walls too. Language barriers, production budgets, industry politics-things that make it hard for J-pop artists to break through globally."

Dendi nodded slowly, listening intently. "Makes sense," he said. "Still, with talent like that, it's hard to believe they've been overlooked."

Riku exhaled softly. "That's another thing. Most of us in Japan-" he paused, his tone tinged with a faint melancholy, "-aren't built to adapt easily to new environments. Especially because many can't speak English. Communication is the bridge we never fully built."

Ivan raised a brow. "Then how come you can speak English fluently?"

Riku chuckled quietly. "Dude, I'm the next head of a family that practically has a hand in shaping Japan's future. It's kinda obvious I had to learn. When you grow up knowing the world's going to look at you, you don't have the luxury of staying monolingual."

His expression softened as the lights on stage began to shift again, the pale blue turning into a deep sapphire glow. "Anyway," he continued, his voice dropping as the crowd started to settle, "enough about that. Pay attention. The second song's about to start."

Down on the stage, Yukina stood perfectly still beneath the spotlight. The cheers of the audience faded into silence as she closed her eyes, the microphone held gently in her hands. A single breath escaped her lips, controlled and deliberate.

Then she spoke-one word that ignited the crowd like a spark touching flame.

"Brave Jewel."

When the song ended, the entire arena erupted into a storm of applause. The roar of thousands filled the air, vibrating through the floor and into the walls. Fans were on their feet, waving glow sticks, shouting names, crying, and laughing all at once. Roselia stood united under the radiant lights, their faces shining with sweat and triumph.

Back in the VIP area, Riku and the pros rose to their feet, joining the ovation. The scouts seated nearby were already on their phones, whispering frantically into headsets, calling their agencies and partners.

Riku smiled faintly as he watched them. His thoughts were calm, his confidence unshaken.

"Everything is falling into place, he mused. It's only a matter of time now."

As the applause continued to thunder below, Riku leaned back slightly, watching the five girls bask in their moment under the celestial light - unaware that this very night would mark the true beginning of something far greater than any of them could imagine.

----------

Live House CiRCLE Lobby - 10:30 P.M.

Riku's POV

The night had finally begun to settle. The hum of excitement still lingered faintly in the air, like the aftertaste of a powerful melody that refused to fade. The event was, without question, a huge success. The crowd that had filled CiRCLE hours earlier now streamed out with faces beaming in satisfaction, their conversations alive with laughter and disbelief at what they'd witnessed.

Even the pros - the old Na'Vi and Nigma veterans - had been thoroughly entertained. They enjoyed the performances so much that they called up the other bands to tune into the livestream.

Yes... I streamed the whole thing. The girls didn't know, of course - a little insurance on my end in case something remarkable happened. Aya handled the technical side flawlessly. As for the photos, I handed that task over to Himari. She captured the heart of the night in every frame. Naturally, we offered to pay her properly for her work... though Moca, being Moca, tried to snatch a portion of Himari's hard-earned cash for "bread money." Fortunately, that crisis was averted quickly.

After Roselia's breathtaking finale, the cleanup began. At first, it was chaos - cords, stands, and equipment scattered everywhere. But soon, the girls pitched in without hesitation. Like they say, never turn down free help. The simple gesture turned a tedious task into something almost... warm. We laughed. We shared relief. For a night like this, there was no sense of hierarchy - only shared exhaustion and accomplishment.

By 10:30, most of the guests had left. Leo/need and Peaky P-key had gone home, and I'd already spoken with Miku before she departed with Ichika - we discussed what we had gone over earlier in my office. Now, only three bands remained in the lobby: Poppin'Party, Raise A Suilen, and Roselia.

I stood near the counter, hands tucked in my pockets, observing the tired but satisfied faces around me.

"Once again," I said, breaking the silence, "you girls made a wonderful performance out there. With this, CiRCLE's reputation will reach new heights."

Chiyu smirked, arms crossed confidently. "Nothing to thank us for. We just did what we needed to do."

Lisa chuckled, wiping a bead of sweat from her temple. "Still, we got a lot out of this Live. We won't have to worry about expenses for a while."

Sayo nodded in agreement. "True. But with that much money coming in, we'll need a proper account to store it."

"Already taken care of," I replied. "The moment you joined CiRCLE and performed here, a host band account was created under your name. I'll send you the details later."

"Ah, so efficient," Lisa teased with a grin.

Rokka, looking curious, turned toward her bandleader. "Chu²-san, does our band have a bank account too?"

Chiyu nodded. "Yeah. My mom helped me set one up. Since I'm still fourteen, I needed her permission."

Masuki stretched her arms behind her head and let out a laugh. "Then we're good to go!"

"Exactly," Chiyu replied, her tone bright. "Well, we gotta bounce. Great Live tonight, Iku! If there's another event like this, give me a call."

I smirked faintly. "I'll see what I can do. Get home safe."

Chu² gave a playful salute as Raise A Suilen exited the lobby, leaving only Roselia and Poppin'Party behind.

I turned to Kasumi, who was practically glowing. "So, Kasumi. How was your experience here at CiRCLE?"

Her eyes sparkled like the night sky. "It was the best, senpai! We got to see everyone shine - and we learned so much! I can't wait to hold our own live show!"

That last line caught Yukina's attention. The leader of Roselia turned her sharp gaze toward Kasumi. "Your own?"

Kasumi blinked, confused by the intensity of her stare. "Yukina-senpai?"

Yukina folded her arms. "Poppin'Party... you are not ready to hold your own live show."

The room went silent.

"Wha-?!" Kasumi's eyes widened.

Then Yukina's expression softened. "For now."

Saaya tilted her head. "For now? What do you mean, senpai?"

"You five have potential," Yukina explained firmly, "but you still have a lot of room to grow. Remember what Himekaidou-san said earlier - your potential is endless. But if you rush things, you'll only hinder your own progress. Roselia could hold our own live because we treated it with seriousness and discipline."

Kasumi's tone trembled slightly. "But we were serious."

"I know," Yukina said quietly. "I saw it when you performed Time Lapse. So did Tamade-san. You poured your hearts into it. But... it's still too early for you to stand alone." She paused, her gaze softening further. "However, if we hold another event, Roselia will personally invite your band to perform with us."

"Wait-really?" Arisa gasped.

Yukina nodded. "I mean it. You've earned it." She turned to me then, bowing her head slightly. "It's time for us to leave. Thank you for hosting our live, Riku-san."

I shook my head. "We helped each other tonight, Yukina. No need for thanks. Be careful on your way home."

"Thank you for your concern," Sayo replied politely.

Before they could leave, Ako-chan tilted her head. "Rin-Rin? What's wrong?"

Without warning, Rinko walked straight toward me and wrapped her arms around me, hugging tightly. The unexpected gesture caught everyone off guard - even me.

"Rinko?" I murmured, surprised.

Her voice was soft but heartfelt. "Thank you..."

I didn't reply immediately. Instead, I returned the embrace - just briefly, but enough to reassure her. When we pulled apart, she smiled faintly, bowed, and followed her friends out the door.

A quiet pause lingered before Tae spoke up, curiosity written all over her face. "Senpai... are you and Rinko-senpai dating?"

Arisa immediately chopped her on the head. "O-Tae!"

Riku: "No, we're not," I said, trying not to laugh. "Rinko's just... expressive in her own way. I don't mind it."

Saaya grinned. "For a second, I thought you two were an official couple."

I gave a small shrug. "Wouldn't mind if that were the case, but my priorities are elsewhere right now."

Rimi raised her hand hesitantly. "Um... senpai, about what Yukina-senpai said... are we really not ready to hold our own live?"

I exhaled slowly. "I won't sugarcoat it. She's right. You're not ready yet. You've got talent, but you need time to refine it. From what I've seen, this is only your third time performing in front of a live audience, right?"

"Yeah..." Arisa mumbled.

"Then take this as your foundation. RaS could hold their own live because they already understood the ups and downs - the sacrifices, the planning, the weight of expectation. You haven't experienced that yet. Learn from tonight. Perform at as many events as you can. Build your name, polish your teamwork, and the rest will follow."

The girls listened intently, the earlier excitement mellowing into quiet determination.

"Remember," I added, "experience is the best teacher. And I-"

Before I could finish, the lobby doors swung open. One of my men - dressed in a black suit - hurried inside. His footsteps were sharp against the floor.

"Riku-sama," he said, bowing deeply. "Oyakata-sama requests your presence. The situation has changed."

My brows furrowed instantly. I let out a sigh, a faint weight settling on my shoulders. "Very well. I'll go as soon as I close the Live House."

I turned toward the girls. "You," I told the suited man, "take these girls home safely."

"By your command!" he replied crisply.

I faced the group one last time. "Sorry about the sudden commotion. Follow him - he'll take you home. Don't worry, he's someone I trust."

Kasumi nodded hesitantly. "If you say so..."

"Good." I gave a small smile. "Now get going."

They nodded, gathering their things before following the man out into the night.

When the door finally closed behind them, the silence of the empty lobby settled in again. I turned off the lights one by one, the soft click of each switch echoing through the hall. The faint glow of the stage beyond the glass door was the last to fade.

As I locked up, I cast one last glance across the now-empty space - the same place that had been alive with color and music just hours ago. A quiet satisfaction filled my chest.

This is only the beginning, I thought as I stepped out into the cool night air. But something tells me... tonight's peace won't last for long.

Nagae Estate - 11:00 P.M.

3rd POV

The moon hung high above the Nagae Estate, its pale light spilling across the garden pond and the tiled roofs, bathing the grounds in a tranquil glow. Fireflies drifted lazily through the night air, their faint lights flickering like whispers of forgotten wishes. The silence of the estate was broken only by the soft sound of Riku's footsteps echoing down the long, dimly lit corridor.

He had only just returned home after the event at CiRCLE-a day filled with music, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment. Yet, the message from Eiji had stripped away that lightheartedness with a single phrase: "The situation has changed."

As Riku reached the grand doors of his grandfather's office, he straightened his posture and knocked lightly.

"Come in," came Kyoya's deep, commanding voice.

Riku slid the door open and stepped inside. The familiar scent of sandalwood and aged paper filled the air. His grandfather sat behind a broad mahogany desk, his expression unreadable. Standing beside him were Yuyuko and Youmu, the ethereal calm of their presence adding weight to the room.

"Yuyuko-san, Youmu... what are you two doing here?" Riku asked, confused.

Kyoya gestured toward the empty chair across from him. "I called them here. Firstly, Riku... congratulations on your live house's successful event. I've heard quite the report from Eiji."

Riku gave a brief nod, sensing where this conversation was headed. "Thanks. But let's not dance around it. One of our men said 'the situation has changed.' What does that mean exactly?"

Yuyuko stepped forward, her serene smile fading as she handed him a sleek black folder. "Take a look at this, dear."

Riku opened the file, scanning through the pages. His eyes moved rapidly-military intelligence reports, coded correspondences, and old treaties renewed by foreign clans. His brows furrowed as realization dawned.

"So, they're going for that, huh?" he murmured, closing the folder.

Yuyuko sighed softly. "Indeed. They're acting on outdated information, but... with your current age, things are about to get complicated."

Riku leaned back, his hand resting on his temple. "Yeah... I think I've waited long enough."

Kyoya folded his hands on the desk, his voice grave. "As you know, the Nagae tradition dictates that the next head must be formally betrothed before reaching the age of twenty. You turned nineteen back in March. That means time is no longer our ally."

Riku fell silent. The ticking of the ornate clock on the wall filled the pause like a quiet accusation.

Kyoya continued, "I know you and Rinko are... working things through, but we are running out of options. The backup plan was Mafuyu, but since she's only half-Nagae, the council won't approve the union."

Riku's jaw tightened, his voice dropping low. "Fine... I'll go along with your plan. I just-" his words faltered for a moment "-don't know what to say to Rinko after everything we promised each other."

Yuyuko placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, her tone warm yet firm. "Don't worry, Riku-kun. We've got this under control. You simply need to trust us."

He exhaled slowly, trying to steady the weight in his chest. "Alright then... who is my fiancée?"

Kyoya gave a small, knowing smile. "You'll find out soon enough. The meeting will take place on June 12th. All arrangements have been made. I'll accompany you personally."

"And I'll come as well," Yuyuko added lightly, her eyes twinkling with a faint, teasing glow. "As your godmother, it's only proper I witness the introduction."

Riku nodded. "Very well... is that all?"

Kyoya's stern features softened for a rare moment. "Riku, I know you're not pleased about this, but trust me. This arrangement could benefit not just you, but all of Japan in the years to come. As for Rinko, you'll understand when the time comes. She and her family will also be invited to the meeting."

Riku frowned slightly. "I don't know what you're planning... but fine. I'll tell her."

"Good," Kyoya said, leaning back in his chair. "You've had a long day. Go get some rest. I'll clear your schedule for the rest of the week."

"Thanks... I could use that."

With that, Riku stood, bowed politely, and exited the office. The door slid shut behind him with a muted click, leaving the two elders alone.

He walked down the corridor in silence, his reflection trailing faintly across the polished floorboards. By the time he reached his room, the exhaustion of the day hit him in full. He tossed his jacket aside, changed into his nightwear, and sank into bed.

As the soft hum of the cicadas filled the air, his thoughts refused to quiet.

A fiancée... I always knew this day would come... but still...

He stared at the ceiling for a long while before letting out a tired sigh. "I'll worry about it later," he murmured. "For now... just sleep."

And with that, his eyes fluttered shut.

Meanwhile - Kyoya's Office

The room had grown quieter after Riku's departure, save for the occasional rustle of wind outside. Kyoya poured two glasses of sake and handed one to Yuyuko.

Yuyuko accepted it with a faint smile. "Are you certain this is the best course for him?"

Kyoya took a slow sip before answering. "It's not ideal... but it's necessary. They've given me an ultimatum. If Riku isn't engaged by the end of July, I'll be forced to abdicate my position as head of the Nagae Clan."

Yuyuko's eyes narrowed. "So, the branch family is moving again?"

He nodded. "Those pure-blood fanatics still cling to their outdated beliefs. They'd rather sacrifice progress than accept change."

Yuyuko leaned back, crossing her legs gracefully. "Always the same song, isn't it? It's maddening. No offense, of course."

Kyoya chuckled quietly. "None taken. I may have come from their line once, but the moment I rejected their ideals, I became their enemy. I'd rather see the Nagae legacy evolve than rot in old dogma."

"Spoken like a true reformist," Yuyuko said softly, taking a delicate sip from her cup. "By the way... you did send the letter, right?"

"I did," Kyoya confirmed. "Yesterday."

"Good," she replied, setting her glass down. "At least we're following the proper steps. No surprises."

The conversation paused-until Yuyuko's phone began to buzz faintly on the table. The screen lit up, casting a pale blue hue across her amused face. She picked it up, her eyes glinting mischievously as she read the message.

"Yuyuko," Kyoya said with a wary look, "what are you thinking?"

A slow, lilting laugh escaped her lips. "Ufufufufufu~ Have a look at this."

She turned the phone toward him, and Kyoya's expression shifted from mild curiosity to astonishment.

"Yuyuko... you do realize Riku is the one running this project, don't you? How did you even get this information?"

"I have my ways," she replied with a smirk. "My people reported some reconstruction work within my territory. When I investigated, I discovered that Riku-kun was directly involved."

She set her phone down, her tone softening with admiration. "He's been preparing for this for a while now. I'll fully support it-and the other families already agreed to lend their aid."

Kyoya exhaled in relief. "Then it's settled. Riku has always wanted to make this dream a reality. If all goes well..."

Yuyuko finished his sentence, her voice filled with a subtle reverence. "Then it will be the greatest event Japan has ever seen."

The two clinked their glasses lightly, the soft chime echoing in the stillness of the night. Their conversation continued quietly, plans and possibilities weaving between each sip.

Meanwhile, Yuyuko's phone remained on the table, the message still glowing faintly on the screen.

It showed the project's title in bold letters-words that promised a new era was about to dawn:

"Gensokyo Grand Festival."

The camera of the night pulled back slowly from the glowing screen, out through the open window, where the moonlight bathed the estate in silver. A gentle wind stirred the cherry blossoms outside, scattering petals into the night sky-silent witnesses to a new chapter about to begin.
