Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Brothers and Dwarfs

"Cut the crap, Tyrion!"

Immediately after, another voice came: "Don't forget, you are my brother!"

"I finally made it back from that godforsaken Riverlands. Never mind that you didn't come to see me first thing, now I ask for a small favor and you keep making excuses!"

"Small favor?"

"You call a bathtub full of Gold Dragons a small favor?"

"Do you know how many Gold Dragons it takes to fill a whole bathtub? At least ten thousand!"

"Damn it... Do you think I'm like our father, who can shit gold out of his ass, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard!"

To his protest, the other voice threatened lightly: "I've already discussed this with father. He agreed, unless you want to go against his wishes, Tyrion."

"Besides, when did we Lannisters become so poor that we can't even produce ten thousand Gold Dragons?"

"I never stopped you when you were throwing money around in brothels."

"Bullshit! Shut up, Jaime!"

"Ten thousand Gold Dragons... even if I lived in a brothel till death, I couldn't spend that much!"

The two walked into the room, bantering. Addam Marbrand looked up and saw Jaime dressed in the pure white cloak of the Kingsguard. He was completely stunned, mouth slightly agape, unable to react for a moment.

"What, don't recognize me?"

Jaime raised an eyebrow, grinning at him: "Lord Commander Marbrand."

"By the Seven Gods! Jaime!"

Addam almost jumped up in excitement, circling around the desk, striding forward, opening his arms excitedly, and giving Jaime a solid bear hug.

Their armors clashed with a crisp sound.

"You lucky bastard!"

"I knew you wouldn't die so easily. If Lord Tywin hadn't kept objecting, I would have led an elite troop to rescue you from that hellhole long ago!"

As the eldest son of Lord Marbrand of Ashemark, Addam was sent to Casterly Rock as a page to Duke Tywin since childhood. He could be said to have grown up with Jaime.

The two were compatible in temperament, both knights who valued martial prowess and had straightforward personalities. Their relationship was extremely deep.

Unfortunately, during the Battle of the Whispering Wood, Addam was sent as a cavalry captain to confront Edmure Tully's main force at the Red Fork, failing to fight alongside Jaime. He only learned of Jaime's capture later.

Seeing Jaime safe and sound now, his feelings were genuine.

"Hey! Hey! Ladies!"

At this time, the dwarf less than half a person's height, who had been left aside, spread his hands. His unique figure appeared particularly conspicuous beside the two tall knights.

"Didn't you notice there's someone else here? Even if he only counts as half a person."

"Oh, look~~~" Hearing this, the two separated. Addam revealed a mischievous smile.

Suddenly he bent down, scooped Tyrion up directly without explanation, and tucked him under his armpit.

"My dear Master of Coin, did you bring me money? When do you plan to pay the three months of back wages for my brothers?"

"Money, yes! Will have it very soon!"

Tyrion's short legs kicked randomly in the air: "Put me down quickly, Addam!"

"I'm going to vomit! I warn you, I'm really going to vomit, all over you. Then your beautiful armor won't be easy to wash!"

He pretended to vomit, but Addam didn't buy it at all. Instead, he jostled Tyrion and threatened: "You say this every time. Today you must give money, or I'll have you sold to the Street of Silk as a dwarf male prostitute!"

Although he said this, everyone could see that Addam was very measured.

Both he and Jaime were seven years older than Tyrion. It wasn't an exaggeration to say they watched this kid grow up.

In Casterly Rock, everyone knew Duke Tywin loathed this dwarf second son extremely, but someone with a hearty and open-minded personality like Addam didn't care.

He appreciated Tyrion's wit and the kindness occasionally revealed that didn't match his extremely ugly appearance. Their relationship was quite good.

"Alright, Addam, spare him."

Seeing Tyrion actually starting to pick his throat, Jaime smiled and reached out to block: "Our Master of Coin has been driven crazy by the empty treasury and countless debts recently, complaining to me all the way."

Hearing Jaime's words, Addam looked down at the red-faced Tyrion, laughed heartily, and put him down.

However, just as Tyrion was busy adjusting his wrinkled expensive coat, Addam's gaze happened to sweep over Jaime's right hand.

"Your hand... Jaime."

The smile on his face vanished instantly, his voice lowered: "Who did it."

"The man who chopped it off is already dead."

Jaime shrugged indifferently: "That's a long story..."

"I have plenty of time to listen."

Facing Jaime's evasion, Addam looked unusually serious, his eyes full of concern.

After returning to King's Landing, facing rebuffs from Cersei and his father successively, holding a belly full of sullen anger, this direct concern warmed Jaime's heart involuntarily.

"Thanks, Addam, really."

He grinned, speaking sincerely: "But I don't have time to explain in detail now. I came to ask you a favor."

"Just say it."

"I'm looking for a friend," Jaime said. "He saved my life, but after returning to King's Landing, we separated temporarily."

"He said he would visit my father at the Red Keep tonight, and father also specifically asked to see him."

"But strangely, it's almost dark now, and I haven't heard a single thing about him. I'm a bit worried because he never breaks his word."

"Give me a name."

Addam cut the crap, patting his chest: "I guarantee Lord Tywin will see him tonight!"

Hearing this, Jaime smiled broadly.

"His name is Vito Corleone. He's a doctor."

"Vito Corleone, right?"

Addam nodded, immediately turning to order Humfrey Waters, who had been standing respectfully aside: "Notify all Gold Cloaks to drop all unimportant matters at hand and search for this Lord Vito Corleone in the city with full effort!"

"Before dark, I want to hear news about him!"

"Yes, my Lord!"

"And!" Addam thought for a moment and added impatiently: "Go tell Sven Rosby to stop wasting fucking manpower. If he delays the Hand's business, I'll skin him alive!"

"Flea Bottom, fighting pits, whatever, put it all aside for me. Tell him to quickly deal with that Rorge mess!"

"Yes!"

Humfrey responded again, preparing to turn and leave.

"Wait!"

Just then, Jaime suddenly spoke up, reaching out abruptly to stop him, then turned to Addam, his eyes sharpening: "You said just now... Rorge?"
