Chapter 20 - Old Jing Yu's Prowess

Of all the people I could have encountered, it had to be him!

I need to clear things up... otherwise, this misunderstanding will never be resolved!

Lao Jing Yu needed to understand that Ling Xian had the potential to become far more powerful from their very first encounter. But what truly puzzled him was why such a prodigy would choose to attend school.

Reason 1: Failure to execute the "Undercover Operation."

Reason 2: Seeking his lifelong love here...

Or Reason 3: Purely to improve efficiency.

Jing Yu could only think of these three possibilities.

Despite Ling Xian's suffocating silence—he remained utterly silent even as the crowd hurled insults—Lao Jing ruled out the first reason.

Then, rumors about Ling Xian and Su Xinyi began to spread...

Efficiency? Screw efficiency! Might as well just destroy the world!

Lao Jing felt his head spinning, but his thoughts grew clearer. "Councilor Ling, these Phantom Assassins... were they all dispatched by the same leader? The one who attacked Miss Su at Starfall Garden..."

"Mm-hmm," Ling Xian nodded immediately. He had long known his own strength; why bother concealing it?

"I see. As for Student Su, you two are in a romantic relationship—"

"Just friends," Ling Xian replied, his tone as concise as ever.

Jing Ye pondered for a moment before pressing further, "Are you not very outgoing at home?"

Ling Xian: "..." Going to school in China is mandatory, you idiot!

Old Man Jing Ye deliberated briefly, his eyes suddenly widening. If he's not here for romantic reasons, and it's not about his sexual orientation... Damn! Could Senior Ling—like men?!

Ling Xian wanted nothing more than to rewire this guy's brain circuits and punch him again.

How could the once-renowned leader of the Eight Sects of the Heavenly Void Spirit Star retire so gracefully?

Ling Xian's confusion about this was no less than the other man's obsession with his supposed sexual orientation. Given Jing Yu's family background and social standing, working as a school gate guard was utterly inconceivable. A mayoral or ministerial position would have been effortless for him.

"You've suffered internal injuries?" Ling Xian quickly noticed the subtle signs.

Even without activating his spiritual eyes, Ling Xian's vision far surpassed the most advanced instruments of the modern age.

Old Man Jing Yu smiled faintly. "After the dimensional barrier incident, I was in unbearable pain. My head burned like fire, and I lost most of my memories."

Ling Xian raised an intrigued eyebrow.

"When I woke up, I was determined to find Consultant Ling and thank him for saving my life. But before I could even reach the corridor, a nurse used magic to restrain me..."

At this point, he covered his face and confessed, "She performed a castration on me!"

Ling Xian froze in shock. Holy shit!

"But the surgery was successful, so I'm not too worried."

"..."

"Later, when I escaped again, my former boss stormed in and demanded to know why I was absent. Just as I was about to explain, he suddenly attacked me with the Dragon Claw Capturing Technique! Luckily, I endured the pain and broke free. I've felt like I have erectile dysfunction all week..."

"..." *Damn! They even went after your little man downstairs?!

"The third reason is that during the brain surgery, the doctor accidentally touched a nerve..." Lao Jing sighed bitterly. "So even to this day, my head hasn't fully recovered."

"..." Ling Xian saw the scars within Jing Yu's skull, remnants of exposure to the dimensional barrier's radiation.

After hearing the old man's story, Ling Xian felt deep sorrow for Jing Yu. He had never imagined that exposure could come at such a terrible cost.

He felt that with his current mental capacity, he could barely manage to play UNO.

Ling Xian sighed softly, and a purifying light suddenly bloomed in his palm.

Jing Yu asked in astonishment, "Consultant Ling, are you going to...?"

Within the Great Healing Purification Spell of the Four Thousand Eternal Laws and Powers of the Galactic Condensation, there was a spell capable of purifying all evil and curing incurable diseases that ravaged the human body.

With Ling Xian's current mastery of the technique, he could transform those arrogant fools who dared to sexually assault women in public into expressionless buisnessmen.

Even Lao Jing had never seen this spell before—could Ling Xian have grown even stronger?

The intricate magical patterns swirling in Ling Xian's palm were undeniable proof.

Jing Ye exclaimed in awe, "Counselor Ling, you truly live up to your reputation! Your power remains as boundless as when we first met!" Though he had accumulated numerous spells before his retirement, compared to Ling Xian's mastery, his own knowledge was but a drop in the ocean.

"Don't worry, this will heal you," Ling Xian said simply, pressing his index finger against Lao Jing's forehead.

Instantly, a soothing, slightly ticklish warmth spread evenly throughout Lao Jing's body, as if his brain's neural pathways were being reconstructed in real-time.

"Ugh—" Lao Jing moaned softly.

His meridians gradually cleared, and his vital energy surged like a river in flood! He felt decades younger! The blockages vanished completely, and the toxins were purged without a trace.

A brilliant light suddenly erupted from his entire body. When the radiance faded, Lao Jing emerged completely rejuvenated!

"Counselor Ling, I am eternally grateful!" Lao Jing's admiration deepened. He had traveled the country seeking medical help, but no one could cure him. The autopsy report had even declared his condition irreversible.

Yet Ling Xian had performed a miracle!

"Stop calling me Counselor. Just call me Ling Xian," Ling Xian corrected him, turning to leave.

This time, Ling Xian was truly teleporting. A violet stream of light instantly enveloped him.

"Oh, very well, Ling Xian..." Lao Jing dared not defy this celestial being before him. He pointed to Shen Qing's corpse and asked, "What should be done with this body?"

Ling merely glanced at him, and Jing Yu immediately understood—he was to handle the matter himself.

Jing Yu bowed deeply. "As you command. I'll take care of it immediately."

"Mm," Ling acknowledged with a curt nod.

As for the misunderstanding about his age, having already made one mistake, he might as well accept it gracefully...

A gentle breeze rustled through the air, and Ling's ears twitched slightly as he heard hurried footsteps approaching.

Having set a time limit for his clone in the classroom, Ling wasn't sure how long it could hold out.

With a whoosh, he vanished instantly, leaving behind only shimmering traces of violet light.

Watching Ling Xian teleport away, the elderly Jing Yu couldn't help but marvel at the vast difference in their power. "Truly overwhelming..."

After witnessing such immense strength firsthand, Jing Yu felt an urgent need to become Ling Xian's disciple.

Just as Jing Yu was lost in thought, a group of guards rushed over, shouting, "Who dares to be here?!"

"Don't panic, it's me!" Jing Yu emerged from the bushes, dusting off his robes.

"Commander!" The guards saluted respectfully, forming neat ranks.

"Mm," he nodded in acknowledgment. "I've just dealt with this assassin. Bury it for me."

"Yes, sir!" Upon hearing this, Lao Jing turned without another word and strode back toward the stronghold.

The elite guards from the academy carried the corpse to the ground for inspection. They collectively exclaimed, "Damn!"

What the hell happened to this guy?!

And what's that substance...?
