Chapter 184 - Sealed With a Kiss 2

"So do you mind explaining why not one, but two girls have followed us here?" Mito asked with a pointed look at Siris and Rossweisse as they climbed the stairs. The two had already discarded their boots and shoes respectively, and had passed the two Uzumakis. She noticed a particular spring in the step of the silver haired girl. Ruto closed the door behind him, groaning mentally at the prospect of explaining his situation to Mito.

"Um… Well you see, they kinda, sorta, maybe, slightly—"

"I'm going to hit you."

"They live here with me, okay?" Ruto blurted quickly. Mito smirked at him. Oh no. I know exactly what she's thinking.

"Oh now I see it. You have some kind of mini harem on your hands. Don't you." she accused with a cackle. Ruto shook his head with sigh. It was one of those day where he'd be doing that a lot.

"Do you have to say it so crudely? Besides, I have a girlfriend, so harems are off the table." He rebuked. While he said this, he didn't quite realise just what universe he was in, and the passive properties of his Sacred Gear. He was getting a harem, whether he wanted it or not.

"The silver haired one in the suit, right?" she nodded her approval. "Gotta say, you've got yourself a fine looker there. She doesn't look like a student at your school, so do you care to explain that one?" she asked as she followed Ruto into the living room. He sat down in his chair, which now had a metal plaque on the side of it to boldly state it was his. Mito sat on the sofa to his right. She'd left her biker jacket hung up near the front door, leaving her in a tank top and her leather biker trousers.

"I guess she doesn't look like a student. She's actually like, two years older than me. She's a teacher at Kuoh, and happens to be my home-room teacher." a smile came to his face. "And it so happens that we're going on a date later." he admitted rubbing the back of his head.

"Naaw. Little brother has a date." Mito replied teasingly. "Well I wish you luck on that one. She definitely seems like someone you'd want to impress." her face took on a slightly sombre look. "But when you come back, come and speak to me alone. There's something we need to discuss. Privately." she finished with a no-nonsense tone.

The Valkyrie lay on her bed staring at the ceiling. The second date was later that evening, and she could barely contain herself. They'd planned this out and it consisted of dinner, a walk around town, stopping off for coffee, and then heading back home. Didn't sound like much, but to a sorely inexperienced and slowly progressing couple, it was a big deal. She held in an excited squeal before she heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." she called. The door opened and Siris entered the room. Now, to say that Siris and Rossweisse were great friends would be an overstatement. While not exactly enemies or even remotely hostile, the peace between them was uneasy at best. It was because one wanted what the other had. And that just so happened to be Uzumaki Ruto.

Siris found it funny how Ruto and Rossweisse thought they were so sneaky. Truth was, they were incredibly transparent and inexperienced. However it still made her jealous of Rossweisse. Ironically, Ruto was like a knight in shining armour to her. But that's to be expected when some guy goes busting into the underworld to fight your old boss to save you.

"We need to talk." Siris said as she checked outside the door before closing it. "Luckily Tiamat is already out somewhere. I messaged her and told her to steer clear of this place for a while." she informed.

"That's good. But what did you wish to talk about?" Rossweisse asked, clearly confused as to why Siris had so abruptly approached her for conversation. Siris leaned against the wall, a troubled expression set upon her face.

"What do you make of her. Ruto's sister, I mean?" Rossweisse thought for a moment before responding. From what she could make of her, Mito seemed nice enough. She hadn't attacked them, or even been overtly rude. She certainly seemed like the kind of person to be more than she let on. But overall, Rossweisse was neutral on what she thought of Mito.

"I can't say I dislike her. She is Ruto's sister, and his older one at that. If we managed to befriend him, then maybe we could do the same with Mito." Rossweisse surmised. Siris narrowed her eyes in thought.

"But using Ruto as an example, what if she has some ulterior motive in coming here? I mean, Ruto had plans within plans during the Rating Game." she cast a sad gaze off to the side. " The main reason he even bothered with me was to gain information and have an inside agent."

Unfortunately Rossweisse couldn't disagree with her. She knew and accepted that Ruto was fully prepared to do terrible things on any scale to succeed. Sure, good had come of it, but Ruto's pragmatism would always be damaging to his relationships with his friends and anyone he came in contact with. She sometimes wondered if he would kill any of them to attain his goal or complete a task that was bigger than them. Unlike Haru, who had a heart of gold and a passionate drive to do anything for his friends, Ruto would cross unspoken boundaries that Haru wouldn't even consider crossing.

She could see why Rias was cautious of him initially. Should Ruto, for any reason, turn against them, he would be a powerful and extremely dangerous enemy. Rossweisse shook her head at such thoughts. Ruto, no matter how unpredictable or pragmatic, wouldn't betray them. But doubt still festered in the back of her mind.

"I know Ruto's intentions weren't the greatest, but he came back for you, right? You were most of the reason he went to fight with Haru against Riser and Ruval. And he took you in." Rossweisse countered.

"I suppose that's true. But it still hurts to know I started off as just some tactical leverage." she said with a shrug. To his credit, he didn't abandon her during the Game either. Despite his injuries and exhaustion, he found her and ensured her safety after being cast out of Riser's Peerage.

Maybe I've got him figured all wrong. she sighed and straightened her posture against the wall. "Anyway, back on topic. I can't say I trust Mito. She and Ruto are siblings, so it's not unreasonable to assume they think and operate along similar lines. From what I experienced from him, she may be doing something similar." she looked Rossweisse in the eyes.

"While I respect and trust Ruto now, they are still Magi, and deceit is second nature to them. I can't help but feel we're being played." she said, her voice becoming quite heated. Rossweisse stood and moved towards Siris, placing a calming hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sure Ruto can handle her. While it's been a long time since he's seen her, I'm sure he knows her enough to spot any signs of trouble. We have to trust him, and her by extension." she said in a soothing tone. It wouldn't help to get too agitated.

"Either way I'm still keeping an eye out." she moved towards the door and opened it. She paused for a moment then cast a smile towards Rossweisse. "By the way, knock him dead tonight." with her piece said, she left closing the door behind her.

Rossweisse stared at where Siris stood just moments ago in confusion. She gave a groan of frustration and threw herself on her bed. "How did she find out?"
