Amara and Red were waiting for me in the hallway, right where I left them. The nurse stood up, probably to ask me how it went, but I had no time. Whoever was after me, I couldn't allow them to find this place or my mother.
"We need to leave, right now," I said as I ran toward the hallway. Both of them tensed instantly.
"Excuse me, miss!" the nurse called, but I didn't turn.
"What's going on?" asked Red.
"Amara, I need you to go over to the desk and rip out the last page of the visitors' notebook. Can you do that?"
Even before I'd finished speaking, she was running for the reception desk. I'd signed her name, but I didn't want anything connecting us to that Sanctuary, and chances were, the nurse would forget all about the torn page if Amara did it.
