Vincent couldn't hide how happy he felt, but he knew better than to start displaying it right there. He continued his journey to the old stuff, but before he got there, Aimee suddenly came up to him.
"Hey, are you not done? It's getting late. We still have some things to do."
Looking at the distance between him and his goal, he knew he couldn't make it in time, so he just grabbed a full set of armour and a weapon. He did not even check it.
"Yeah, I'm done!"
"Are you sure this is what you want?" she asked, looking at the metal. There was nothing special about it. It was just plain. It did not even have the aura she knew weapons should have.
"My good man!" the dwarf cut in before Vincent could reply, once again hitting him casually on the back, which actually felt like a hammer. "So you've made your choice then? And if it isn't the Nameless."
"Nameless? What's that supposed to be?" Aimee asked, seemingly voicing Vincent's thoughts.
"Oh, it's the set. It is an old set passed down through my generation. Nobody knows its origin. We just pass it on to our sons. No one wanted to use it either, as it was useless. It couldn't withstand magic and was cut quite easily, basically a piece of crap."
"Vincent, did you hear that? Are you still sure this is what you want?"
Vincent thought for a while. Usually, if this were a fantasy novel, this would be the best situation for the protagonist , An armour no one could use except himself. But this was not a novel, and not thinking properly here could put his life in danger.
I'm going to risk it anyway.
"Well yeah, I think it's cool."
"No, no, this is not about being cool!"
"Be cool on him now," the man said. "I know you guys would have had a lot of arguments, but this isn't like the others, Aimee. This time, you have to let your man follow his heart. And though it'll be tough on me to give out my family's legacy, since you're Aimee's man, I'll give it to you. You can take it as my blessing."
In the end, Vincent ended up with the metal set, and Aimee gave him a ring a dimensional ring, one he had always seen on her finger. So that was how she was able to bring out the clothes.
It was nighttime, and Vincent and Aimee were forced into the same room. Though she still had something to say, it still felt awkward.
"So this is the last thing I'm telling you as per what you need to know. If you have any concerns and ask me, I'll answer you if it's worth my time," she began. "We have the same amount of time in the two worlds twenty-four hours. Though if you're stronger, you can resist sleeping and crossing over to the other side. But for now, it's twenty-four hours."
"And there are two ways your time can be up in this world. One is running out of time and falling asleep. The other can only happen in Nexus, since it is not your base world if you receive enough damage. Damage that isn't enough to kill you, but enough to make you sleep, like what happened in the cave earlier when I hit you. That's all. Sleep now."
Damn, this woman is something else. She did not even let me ask questions or anything. She just forced me to sleep.
He finally understood the energy part of his system:
[Energy: 6/24]
Moreover, I still have six hours!!
He was about to sleep when he suddenly remembered he still had some uncompleted quests.
Shit!
He lay there perfectly still, pretending to have slept, though he was on the floor as Aimee had warned him not to even think of sleeping on the bed with her.
After a while, when he was sure Aimee had slept, he crept out of the room to the back of the inn.

There was a problem. The space at the back was not up to 100 km, and there was no way he could complete that quest. But he decided to try anyway.
He began running up and down the space and was satisfied when the bar under the quest began filling up, albeit slowly.
He fell to the ground, face upward, his chest rising and falling as if being pumped. He had just completed the first quest.
Resting for a while, he stood up and looked around for something heavy to carry. He saw a stool and decided to lift it. Struggling for a while, he managed to raise it. It was seven kilograms according to the bar under the quest.

He could barely feel his bones when he was done. Then he realized he had used an hour and thirty minutes, meaning Aimee would have been waiting for him.
He quickly made his way back to the room, all the while oblivious to the fact that she had actually been watching him.
Vincent woke up to find himself in Miss Aimee's room, which was becoming more and more familiar with each passing day. More familiar was the face he was looking at right now Miss Aimee's angry face.
"Where were you? I specifically told you to sleep! Did I not!?" she said. "You know what, just go! You have less than three hours to prepare for the day."
"Okay ma'am, I'll go now. I'll be back later though," he replied quickly as he left the room, while Miss Aimee smiled behind him.
Wow, I don't need to sleep again. My body feels so energized, like I just woke up from a long sleep.
He quickly made his way to his room to prepare.
But Miss Aimee never told me how she found out who I was though.
And just as he thought, as he was leaving his room, his two friends simultaneously left theirs as well.
"Hey guys!" he said.
"Vincent, what the fuck happened last night!?" Adams shouted, ignoring the greeting.
"What?" Vincent slipped. He had no idea what Adams was talking about. Hell, he wasn't even there the night before.
"Morning, Vincent," Daniel replied. "You honestly don't know what happened yesterday?" he asked again, as Adams stormed out of the dorms.
