Everyone present watched with their own eyes as the usually high and mighty Dodoria Frieza's trusted right-hand man met his end at the hands of a Saiyan child.
Not even a speck of dust remained. Stunned and speechless, their gazes were vacant as they stared at the horrific scene, plunging the area into a deathly silence.
Whoosh! A light breeze blew past, kicking up a swirl of sand.
After a long moment of stillness, one of Dodoria's subordinates a purple-skinned alien who resembled a toad finally began to process what had happened.
His face was a mask of terror and disbelief. Stumbling backward in a panic, he screamed incoherently, "Do... Do... Lord Dodoria is dead!"
As the alien's piercing shriek rang out, waves of panic instantly rippled through the remaining Frieza Force soldiers. They screamed in terror, scattering in every direction as they fled for their lives.
Trying to escape? A cold, disdainful smile played on Qin Yan's lips.
"Liya!"
Qin Yan watched the retreating subordinates but did not give chase himself. Instead, he called out to the girl beside him.
"Got it, big brother Qin Yan!"
Hearing his call, little Liya understood immediately. She gave him a sweet response and shot off like a bolt of lightning after the four fleeing aliens.
"Qin Yan, is it really alright to let Liya go?"
Mellos, Qin Yan's mother, asked with an air of worry as she watched the young girl chase down Frieza's men. The others also turned to Qin Yan, their expressions filled with concern and doubt.
Faced with his mother's inquiry and the skepticism of the crowd, Qin Yan didn't bother to answer. He merely spared them a glance before turning his eyes back to the horizon where Liya was closing the distance.
What a joke. To Liya, whose power level had soared past 60,000, dealing with these small fry who barely had power levels of one or two thousand was as easy as blowing away dust. It required no effort at all, and certainly didn't require him to step in.
In the blink of an eye, Liya caught up to the first alien. Under the stunned gazes of Bardock, Mellos, and the rest, Liya's fist reduced the creature to a mist of blood. It didn't even have time to scream.
Having dealt with the first one so efficiently, Liya spread her hands and channeled the Ki within her body, rapidly condensing it into her palms. With a sharp cry, two terrifying beams of energy erupted from her hands, hurtling toward two more of the fleeing soldiers.
Boom! Boom! Two massive explosions rang out simultaneously.
The two aliens were struck directly by the energy waves. They let out miserable wails before they were instantly vaporized, turning into cosmic dust.
With three down, only one remained an alien covered in thick red hair. Seeing his comrades slaughtered, his heart was consumed by a primal fear, and he desperately tried to increase his speed.
Watching the red-haired alien bolt away, Liya decided to give the last survivor a "dignified" end. She dropped into a familiar stance.
"Ka... me... ha... me..."
"HAA!"
Her clear, youthful voice echoed between heaven and earth as she released the final shout.
A massive pillar of blue energy erupted from Liya's palms, a surging light that cut through the void. In an instant, it engulfed the last fleeing soldier.
The terrifying energy beam tore through his body, its searing heat decomposing his physical form. The alien's face contorted in a final, hideous grimace before he was reduced to ashes.
The entire cleanup had taken mere seconds.
"Hehe! Big brother Qin Yan, I'm done! I'm pretty great, right?"
After finishing off the enemies, Liya skipped back to Qin Yan, wearing a playful grin as she looked for praise.
"Haha! You're amazing. Our Liya is the best." Qin Yan laughed, showering the little girl with compliments that left her beaming with joy.
Meanwhile, Bardock, Mellos, and the others stood frozen in place, their mouths agape. They were utterly paralyzed by the terrifying display of strength Qin Yan and Liya had just shown.
"Son... how are you both so powerful?" Mellos asked, her voice trembling with shock. "Do you really have a power level of 90,000? How could your battle power be so high that you could actually kill Lord Dodoria, Frieza's own right-hand man?"
The other Saiyans nodded dumbly, their eyes fixed on Qin Yan. They desperately wanted to know the truth. Everything that had happened today was so overwhelming and inconceivable that it had shattered their understanding of the world.
"Brother Qin Yan has way more than 90,000 power level..."
Hearing his mother's question, Liya piped up to correct her. However, the moment she caught Qin Yan's sharp look, her voice grew smaller and smaller until it vanished entirely. Realizing she had spoken out of turn, she lowered her head, not daring to look at him.
"What!"
Everyone gasped. They had heard her clearly, despite her voice trailing off. Qin Yan had more than 90,000 battle power. They turned to him as one, asking, "Is that true?"
"Whether it is or isn't, does it really matter?" Qin Yan shrugged, his tone casual. "As long as you train hard enough, you can reach it too."
He was telling the truth. With Saiyan blood, such heights were indeed attainable through rigorous cultivation.
"Could it be... have you already become the legendary Super Saiyan?" Bardock asked, his face pale with shock as the ancient legend crossed his mind.
"Hehe! If you think a 90,000 power level makes someone a Super Saiyan, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. It's not even close. As for whether I am one or not, you'll find out eventually." Qin Yan neither confirmed nor denied Bardock's suspicion. It didn't really concern them anyway.
"What? He's not?"
The light of hope in the crowd's eyes dimmed instantly, replaced by a sense of loss. If such overwhelming power still wasn't enough to be a Super Saiyan, then what was? Truly, a legend that only appeared once every thousand years was far too difficult to achieve.
Beside them, Liya tilted her head, her bright eyes glinting with secret knowledge. She knew perfectly well that Qin Yan could already transform into a Super Saiyan, but since he was keeping it quiet, she wasn't about to spoil the secret.
"Alright, the priority now is to return to Planet Vegeta," Bardock said, stepping forward with a rational tone. "We need to tell King Vegeta and everyone else about Frieza's conspiracy so we can unite against him. Qin Yan, with your power, you must come with us to defeat Frieza and save Planet Vegeta!"
As soon as Bardock finished, Qin Yan's expression soured. What a joke. Did they think he would follow their orders? Just because he had saved them didn't mean he considered himself one of them.
Qin Yan turned to Bardock and began to lecture him. "Don't make me laugh, Bardock. Save Planet Vegeta? Save the Saiyans? If it weren't for the Saiyans, children like us deemed 'low class' from birth wouldn't have been exiled to distant planets to fend for ourselves. If it weren't for the Saiyan race's cold-bloodedness,
cruelty, and greed, we wouldn't even be standing here today. To ask me to save the Saiyan race is nothing but a pipe dream. Forget Frieza wanting to destroy Planet Vegeta; I've thought about destroying it myself. The current Saiyan system shouldn't even exist. That cruelty is exactly why a Super Saiyan hasn't appeared for so long."
"What? You... you would actually say that?" Everyone was horrified. They never expected Qin Yan to harbor such resentment.
"That may be true, but where is your Saiyan pride?" Benas, Qin Yan's father, suddenly stepped forward to challenge him.
"Saiyan pride? Haha, what pride is that? Bullying the weak and fearing the strong?" Qin Yan's face was full of mockery and disdain. "You don't even understand what a true Saiyan is meant to be, and yet you dare lecture me on pride?"
Mellos froze as she listened to her son's words. When she thought about the Saiyans' ways and the hardships Qin Yan must have endured, she realized he was right to feel this way.
Her heart softened, and her gaze toward Qin Yan became one of understanding and tenderness. As long as her son was safe and well, nothing else mattered.
"Alright, let's not dwell on this," she said softly. "Let's just go back first."
"Fine," Bardock and the others nodded helplessly. They weren't strong enough to force his hand; they would have to rely on themselves.
Sullenly, Bardock and the group looked at Qin Yan one last time before preparing to board their spaceship to return to Planet Vegeta.
"However, Bardock," Qin Yan suddenly spoke as they turned to leave. "While I don't care whether Planet Vegeta or the Saiyans live or die, you were right about one thing: I will defeat Frieza."
Bardock and the others shuddered with delight. "Really?"
Qin Yan nodded. He didn't care about the race, but Frieza was a universal powerhouse and one of the major bosses of the Dragon Ball world. Qin Yan was genuinely looking forward to testing his strength against him.
With Qin Yan's help, Bardock and his team felt their chances of victory had increased significantly. Unlike the other Saiyans who were celebrating, Qin Yan's mother didn't look excited; instead, she looked even more worried. Qin Yan noticed this and offered her a subtle, reassuring smile.
To speed up their return, Qin Yan instructed everyone to hold hands. Then, he activated Instant Transmission and brought the entire group back to Planet Vegeta in an instant.
Frieza had just lost his right-hand man and a high-ranking executive of the Frieza Force. Qin Yan couldn't help but chuckle inwardly, imagining Frieza's reaction when he got the news certainly not sadness, but a rage so great he'd likely shatter his wine glass.
In the vast, star-studded expanse of space...
A massive, disc-shaped spaceship was cruising toward Planet Vegeta.
Inside a luxurious cabin, the vastness of the universe and the brilliance of the stars were visible through a transparent viewscreen.
Frieza sat leisurely in his hover chair, floating by the window. One hand held a glass of red wine, while the other rested on the edge of his pod. His crimson eyes were cold as he stared at the stars, a cruel light flashing through them from time to time.
"Mr. Zarbon, Dodoria has been gone for quite a while without a report," Frieza said, his voice cold and ethereal. He turned to the man standing behind him with an air of amusement.
"And King Vegeta seems quite busy planning a rebellion, intending to lead the Saiyans against me. Tell me, how should I deal with these rude, savage monkeys?"
"It should be soon, Lord Frieza," Zarbon replied. "Those Saiyans simply don't know their place. They are arrogant to a fault, daring to defy your majesty severity, they should be executed." Behind him, Zarbon coldly...
Smiling coldly, Zarbon looked on. He had long been unable to stomach the behavior of the Saiyans. If they didn't still have some utility value, he would have wiped them all out ages ago.
"Ohohohoho! Don't be in such a rush, Mr. Zarbon. Once Dodoria returns, we shall head to Planet Vegeta to deal with all the Saiyans. At that time, I'll let you all enjoy the sight of how the most beautiful fireworks in the universe bloom," Frieza said, letting out a deep, terrifying, and evil laugh.
"Yes, King Frieza," Zarbon replied, an insidious smile forming on his face.
Just then, the room door suddenly burst open. A cockscomb-headed alien scrambled in, practically crawling and stumbling as he gasped out a panicked report. "Report... Report... King Frieza... there is... there is news of Lord Dodoria!"
"Oh? And? Did Dodoria settle things and return?" Frieza asked with an air of indifference.
"No... no, it's not that. Lord Dodoria, he..." The subordinate was drenched in sweat, his voice trembling violently as he struggled to speak.
Seeing the subordinate dithering, Zarbon barked impatiently, "What happened? Speak clearly, right now!"
The cockscomb alien began to shiver even more, stammering in terror, "It's... it's Mr. Dodoria. He has fallen. He died on Planet Meat. All of his subordinates were killed as well; the entire force was wiped out. They were killed by a Saiyan."
With a sudden crack, King Frieza's red wine glass was crushed in his grip. Bright red wine splashed along his arm and trickled onto the floor. Frieza's expression shifted. His crimson eyes flashed with the cruel, cold light of a bloodthirsty demon.
"What did you say?" he asked, his voice freezing.
"What exactly happened? Speak clearly!" Zarbon urged from the side, his face full of disbelief.
Gulp!
"It's like this... Lord Dodoria was handling those Saiyans according to plan, but halfway through, another group of Saiyans arrived as backup. Among them was a Saiyan brat.
Based on the data transmitted from Lord Dodoria's scouter, that kid's Power Level was as high as 90,000 points. He is the one who killed Lord Dodoria and the others." The alien blurted everything out under the immense pressure.
"What? That's impossible!"
Frieza and Zarbon both cried out in shock. The idea that a Saiyan's Power Level could reach 90,000 was a complete joke to them, and they rejected it instantly.
Both of them were utterly stunned.
