Chapter 7 - Chapter 2 part 3

Jackie heard a loud noise from his slumber and immediately got up as he looked around with confusion on his face, as he adjusted himself and got out of the shade, he heard something like running as he hid behind the trees. He saw a woman, presumably around her 20s was running quickly while holding a small flash, a basket full of food and a small hat. Her dress looked modest but formal, almost like she was living under low class citizen conditions. Jackie rubbed his eyes as he saw the woman disappear in the forest as Jackie was wondering what was chasing the woman. He stepped backwards seeing a sort of weird creature in the distance before it came out of the bushes.

It was a sort of strange wolf-dog thing with a bits of raw metal stuck to it like armour, it's long purple tongue lolling out of it's mouth as it's orange-mixed yellow eyes without pupils looked towards the forest. It's long tail (which was as long as cat tails) wagged in agitation. It had brown claws which made small cracks in the ground while it's purple mixed with white fur looked to be slightly wet with water. It paced a bit as it started to give a loud bark mixed with a howl as it ran on all fours. Jackie got out from hiding as he was surprised "This world seems to get stranger at every moment and I just woke up. Right, I should get going to find clothes." Jackie got up and started to go on the pathway which was starting to become rocky as he soon walked to the town and walked in with precision.

Jackie saw that the town had spread out buildings, some made with stone and others made with wood. People passed by as today looked to be a incredibly busy day with some carrying heavy baskets and others were holding expensive materials close to them. Jackie soon walked through at the sides of the roads as he began looking around for the shops to trade things. Some markets had food, weapons and small leather bags while small bottles with a blue cross was seen on one of the markets. Mostly likely medicine. Jackie continued to walk around until he saw a shop with a old wooden label that said "Mr Archlen's shop for items." Jackie came inside as the shop was dark and dust could be felt in the air. The corners of the shops had cobwebs as Jackie saw a old sliver bell as he grabbed it and began ringing it.

What he didn't expect was the shopkeeper coming out as he said "Give me a moment. The Trencherman has been keeping me up, cleaning his messes." He put the old books on a shelf that looks to be almost falling apart. Mr Archlen soon went to the main table for selling. Mr Archlen was around his 60s, with grey yet strings of brown hair. His dull blue eyes which were reddened and dilated gave Jackie a look over, his clothes which were a red cloak with blue sewed in patches. He wore a long sort of red-brown covering over his grey tunic. He wore leather boots as his vision unblurred slightly, seeing Jackie for a moment. "Ah! Your are one of those lads aren't ya? Usually, I don't get customers around here, what do you need?" Jackie found himself a little unnerved by the shopkeeper.

"Are you Mr Archlen?" Jackie asked as Mr Archlen gave a mhm and a nod. "Yep, I'm the shop's owner. You probably heard me from a couple of people around here." He said before Jackie answered back with "Nope. I saw the sign on the front of the shop" Mr Archlen's eyes furrowed for a moment "Ah the dotty sign, been falling apart ever since 4 years ago. I'll get it fixed soon. Now boy, did you come to buy or sell something?" Jackie grabbed out the basket full of the crystals as Mr Archlen analysed the basket before his eyes widened as he spoke with surprise "Those are some exotic crystals! You can't possibly get them unless- Oh, it's august ain't it, the Palvians are still giving gifts out to the ones who need it most. You must have gotten lucky." Mr Archlen began counting the crystals before grabbing a bag out of there. He counted the money and gave two bags which one contained 300 and another contained 400.

"You did me a favour kid. I been having troubles with land tax and you gave me all of your crystals to pay off my debt. You can come back any time to my shop." Mr Archlen said before Jackie left with a slight smile. "Huh. No wonder I got lucky, now ." He walked through the area as he soon looked upwards at the sky, He guessed it was around 1 pm and his mind was thinking back to when he met Mr Archlen, he was probably going to visit him soon again as he walked through the areas looking for some basic clothes. He saw a market shop which had all sort of cloth and began having an idea. He soon walked and said "Is the shopkeeper here?" before he got a reply "Your asking for me?" A woman who was around her 40s grabbed a box and bent upwards.

She had faded golden hair, her brown eyes had a sort of dreary look in them while her face was starting to show signs of wrinkles. She had a green dress with blue stripes and a apron with marks. Her feet at the sides had bruise marks while her hands looked soft like a old person's hands. "What your name?" Jackie asked as Beatrice said "Beatrice Cambell. You want to pay for cloth?" Jackie nodded before asking "How much for one clean and long one?" She soon looked at the costs "50 noble." Jackie nodded and gave 100 noble to her for two long cloths as she gave them to him. He soon left afterwards as he had gotten money, he got cloths. He looked around for a string to sew with. He finished off as he held the strings in his hands and went away from the town to sew somewhere.

He found a sharp triangle made of wood and thought this might work for now as he began cutting the cloth apart trying to use his home learnt skills.
