Each holographic screen displayed the names of awakening students in numerical order.
The first five students, scattered across different seats, stood up and moved towards the podium.
Nervously, they climbed the podium approaching the table behind the holographic screens which displayed their names.
The warriors placed their hands on the box lid. After about 20 seconds, a strange symbol formed on the lid, a clicking sound resounded, and the warriors gently put the lid down on the table.
Laying in the box's comfortable red interior was a circular orb with dim creamy cloud color. The orb was around the size of a fully grown man's hands clasped together in a circle.
"Put your hand on the orb", the warriors instructed the students standing opposite the table before them.
The students followed the instructions immediately. The warriors also put their hands on the orbs, their hands glowed with different colors as they infused energy into the orbs .
The dim creamy cloud colored orb shone as if coming to life. The creamy cloud color was blinding causing the awakening students to close their eyes from the blinding light.
The holographic screens flashed with some words again :
No. 1: Nelson Jeremy : Mundane human
No. 2: Lin Ming : successfully awakened
No. 3: Ethan Andrew : successfully awakened
No. 4: Billy Mitchell : Mundane human
NO. 5: Jameson James : successfully awakened
"Ahh!", the students all gasped in shock as two out of the first five failed to awaken; they murmured amongst themselves, panicking.
"Silence!!", the speaker came to life and so did the holographic screens, displaying the same words, making the entire students go mute.
The holographic screens flashed with words again: Students who successfully awaken should please go back to their seats.
Those who fail to awaken should leave the hall immediately.
"Damn, that's cold", Jack muttered, sucking in a breath of cold breath as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat with his heart pounding wildly against his chest.
"Yeah, that's really cold, but you don't have to panic if you believe you will awaken, then you will".
Jack looks at the person who just made the funny quote beside him with laughter almost threatening to burst out of his mouth. The person had short, messy green hair with green eyes, smooth eyebrows and glasses resting on his nose.
"Hi, my name is Martin Stein", the guy extended a hand for a handshake.
"Jack", he replied plainly, not bothering to shake the hand.
"What do you think about what I said ?", the guy asked.
"I don't believe it", Jack replied.
"We will see about that", Martin said with his eyes narrowed.
"Jack shrugged lazily".
The awakening continued naturally; everyone who didn't awaken left the hall dejected while some even cried as this was a once-in-a- lifetime event. The one's who awakened stayed waiting happily.
No 341: Ethan Gregory : successfully awakened .
NO 342: Jeffrey Luther : successfully awakened .
NO 343: Adam Wally : Mundane human
NO 344: Amanda Peterson : successfully awakened .
NO 345: Olivia Rodrigo : successfully awakened .
"Hmm, I guess bullies awaken too", Jack smirked lightly as he looked at Jeffery, the guy who he had once fought in school, successfully awakened .
"My set is next", he muttered to himself with a forced smile.
The holographic screen soon changed the names on it, displaying another set of names.
"What the", the smile on his face soon washed away.
No 350 : …
His heart suddenly hammered against his chest, out of all the five numbers only his name was blank.
"Wait, why is the number 350 blank?"
"I don't know, go ask the system"
Students murmured amongst themselves.
With a nervous frown and a seriously pounding heart, Jack stood up and walked towards the podium.
The one who should be responsible for his awakening was a warrior from the Walter family. With a silent gulp he moved up the podium and stood before the table with the silver armored warrior on the opposite side.
"Sir I think the system glitched or something", Jack swallowed.
"The system isn't glitched, you are not just registered", the silver armored warrior said, not paying him any attention.
"No, sir, it's impossible, I'm sure I...I was registered", Jack unconsciously raised his voice a bit.
"Hmph, insolence." A red glow flashed in the warrior's eyes, and he waved a hand.
"Ahh", Jack groaned as he was sent flying from the podium crashing harshly on the ground.
With a low groan, Jack forced himself to get up.
Upon standing on his feet his knees buckled as a huge pressure crashed down on him.
"I have been told that you have no respect, but now I see you just want to waste your life since you don't know your place." The silver armored warrior moved to the edge of the podium with a hand stretched out.
Jack coughed uncontrollably, blood flowed out of his mouth freely, his knees shook, but he forced himself to stand against the pressure. The pressure intensified and he was forced on his knees.
"I can't believe someone would talk to a warrior like this", a student said.
"Hmph, serve him right, he clearly gets what he deserves", another said.
Jack on his knees was having difficulty breathing, his face pale as sheet and vein bulging from the lack of oxygen.
The warrior waved his hand with a low snot, "Ahh", Jack inhaled deeply as he finally managed to breathe as the pressure disappeared.
"Hmph, leave this place, you are not worthy of becoming a warrior", the silver armored warrior said as he returned to behind the table.
Jack looks up at the other warriors who were busy still conducting the awakening without any care about what was just to him.
Struggling to get on his feet, Jack wiped the blood from his mouth, "Are you going to just watch him wrong, a harmless student who did nothing?".
Most of the warriors didn't even look at him or say anything.
Anger clouded his mind as no one paid him any attention, he gritted his teeth spitting blood on the ground.
"All of you are a disappointment to humanity", Jack turned around dragging his aching body to the exit with difficulty.
"Insolence".
"How dare you".
The warrior in silver and the one in green armor from the government leapt towards Jack.
Jack's eyes widened as turned around to see the claws of the two figures close to his chest and head ...
