Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Decision

"What do magic and vitality mean?"

Mina received no response from the system. It was easy to figure out what the other stats meant except for Magic and Vitality, while he knew the meaning of Mana from the stories he had read.

"What do I do now?"

Mina had two choices: stay at home until help arrived in the form of the army, or go out to help people and search for assistance. Mina thought for a moment, then made his decision.

"I will go out. Staying home might be safer, but the food will eventually run out. Also, I must take the opportunity to kill as many zombies as possible while they seem to be stuck inside the houses. If they gather, it will be impossible for me to defeat a zombie horde. Therefore, I must eliminate them before they cluster together."

Mina searched for anything to use as a weapon in the house. He found some weapons, but he didn't like them; he wanted something solid and strong that could crush a zombie's head with a single blow. So, he went to Max's house to search.

"Where is Max's gun? There's no way he lost it."

He only found the black police baton. As for Max's gun, it seemed to have vanished, as he searched Max's entire house.

Mina took the black baton and went to the house next to Max's. He knocked on the door and heard the sound of something moving, but it wasn't human footsteps; it was the sound of something being dragged. Mina knew it was a zombie. He stood by the door, leaning his back against the wall, holding the black baton, ready to strike the zombie on the head when it came out.

"Boom!"

The door shattered and the zombie emerged. But this time Mina was ready. He struck the zombie on the head with the baton, crushing its skull, and the zombie's body fell to the ground.

[Ding]

Mina ignored the notification and entered the house, but he found a zombie in front of him charging at him. He took a step back, tripped over the first zombie's corpse, and fell on top of it. Then he stood up, performing a backward roll.

Mina stood up, his heart pounding as he had been on the verge of death. He calmed his heart and focused on the zombie. Mina rushed toward the zombie to kill it. The zombie tried to attack, but Mina was faster; he landed a blow to the zombie's head and killed it.

Mina stood there and said to himself: "First lesson: Never lower your guard."

[Ding]

Mina did not ignore the system this time.

He clenched and unclenched his fist, feeling that his strength had increased by a small margin.

"So, every time I kill a zombie, my level rises, and with each level, I get points to increase my stats. Doesn't that mean even more powerful enemies will appear in the future?"

Mina realized he had to grow stronger so he could face any potential danger.
