"You'll live. Now hurry—we need to find Bart and Bess, report to the guild, and get off the streets before anyone starts asking too many questions."
The Douglass Port Guild reeks of cigarette smoke, cheap ale, and sweat—an overpowering stench that hits Hannah the second she pushes open the wooden door.
The common room is loud: adventurers laugh and argue at wooden tables, a bard strums an off‑key tune in the corner, a barmaid slams mugs of ale down on the counter.
All eyes turn to them as they stumble in:
Hannah, dirt‑streaked and exhausted, half-dragging an unconscious Mike; Mimi, pale and wobbly, her staff clutched to her chest; and a faint, invisible weight at Hannah's hip (Ren, already sneaking toward the snack bowl on the bar).
Hannah marches to the front desk, slamming her palm down on the scarred wood to get the receptionist's attention.
