I wake up from someone gently tickling my face. The soft touch makes me shiver.
The tickling seems deliberately designed to wake me up slowly, playing with my skin: now gliding under my eyes, now touching the corners of my lips. In the first moments, it seems to me that it is a dream, but the sensation is too real. I do not suppress a faint smile, without even opening my eyes.
When my eyelids finally parted, I see her. Katrin is sitting on the bed, leaning slightly toward me. Her red curls touch my shoulder, and the light scent of a marker fills the air. In her hands, she squeezes a marker, carefully touching my cheek with it. Her face glows with excitement, but there is also something else — something bold, almost magnetic, hides in the corners of her lips and shines in her eyes.
"Don't move, I'm almost done," she whispers with seriousness, as if she is engaged in important business.
The girl smiles the way only she can: widely, sincerely, with that spark that is capable of waking even the coldest soul. I feel how the warmth of her breath touches my skin, and my heart, it seems, skips a beat.
The world outside the room ceases to exist. Only she and her inspired gaze, focused on my face as if on a canvas. I sigh barely perceptibly but obediently freeze. Her mischief is disarming — childlike, but with a mixture of something deeply personal, intimate.
The movements with the marker continue, but I barely pay attention to what exactly she is drawing. Everything around seems to dissolve, leaving only the two of us.
I look at her, at how her hands, with some special grace and ease, move across my face. Her fingers barely touch my skin, but this touch is almost tangible, like an electric current piercing the entire body.
I notice how on her fingers, like a random pattern left by nature itself, tiny cat paws drawn in henna are visible. These marks seem just as light and playful as she is.
Every time her hands touch me, I feel as if a tiny invisible cat leaves its tracks not only on her skin but also in my soul.
These paws, so cute and delicate, seem to say: "I am here, I am near, and I bring warmth and comfort with me." And at that moment, I realize that even the smallest details in her — are a whole world that I want to explore again and again.
Her plump lips tremble barely perceptibly as she tries to hold back laughter, but a smile still breaks through. Her cheeks begin to turn pink, betraying joy and slight embarrassment.
This is so real, so sincere, that I cannot help but smile back. Her face is close, and a mischievous light is reflected in her eyes — the very one that always makes my heart beat a little faster.
I catch myself thinking that I do not mind her mischief at all. On the contrary, it surprises me how her presence fills me.
This is a moment when you realize how important the person next to you is, how each of their movements and glances become a part of your world.
Her laughter rings out so unexpectedly that I flinch. It is infectious, sparkling, like the clinking of crystal glasses, filling everything around with warmth, like rays of sunshine. At this moment, I feel happy, real. Her fire, carefreeness, sincerity — all of this washes over me completely, making me forget about everything except her.
My gaze involuntarily slides to her eyes — deep, vibrant green, like trees in a forest surrounded by light.
These eyes drive me crazy. There is something inexplicable in them, bold and tender at the same time, like secrets she will never tell. There is a power in them that makes everything inside tremble, and a mystery into which I want to plunge, to get lost without a trace.
At first glance, I thought that she was too unpredictable, too free to be serious. Her audacity annoyed me, her manners seemed like a challenge.
But now, watching how these green eyes study my face, I understand — it is this very defiance that makes her so special. Katrin — a wind that cannot be held, a fire that will not go out. And I fell in love with her for this, for this magic that does not allow me to leave.
I smile and, without thinking, place my hand on her leg, feeling her soft, warm skin under my fingers. This movement is instinctive, almost involuntary, but it feels right. Every centimeter of her body arouses in me a desire to be closer, to feel her presence even stronger.
Rebel Girl lifts her gaze, and her eyes meet mine. Undeniable confidence and a slight mockery can be read in them, as if she knows what is happening inside me.
Knows how effortlessly she shatters my defense, breaks the usual boundaries. I see how the corners of her lips rise slightly in a sly smile, and this completely throws me off balance.
I feel like a captive of her game, and, to my surprise, I like it. She — a mystery that I want to solve to the end.
But with each passing minute, I understand that the solution — is not the end. It is the beginning of a new turn, a new stage, where the surprises will be brighter, the feelings deeper, and her magic stronger. And I am ready for this, like never before.
"Hey, you're in my way! Be a good boy and don't stop your Rebel Girl from teasing you," it seems she is enjoying this moment.
"But does the teasing count if the victim agrees to it?" I ask, allowing myself a smirk.
She raises her eyebrow slightly, as if seriously considering my question. This simple gesture makes her image even more alive and real.
Then Katrin smiles, and a challenge, tenderness, and invariable mischief can be read in her smile.
"When you see what I've done to you, you will change your mind," these words sound like a promise.
I give in. Her presence, her words, even her game itself become irresistible to me. She is like a magnet that makes me move in her direction, and resisting it is meaningless. All that is left for me — is to follow her, ready for whatever she comes up with.
"Alright, I will be your good boy and let you finish your mischief," even in such a situation, I cannot help but appreciate how fascinating everything that is happening is.
I do not remove my hand from her leg, only slightly relax my fingers, allowing myself to enjoy this moment. The silence, broken only by her quiet breaths and the barely audible squeak of the marker, wraps around us like a soft cocoon.
The movements are so focused and confident that I feel: she is putting not just paint into each line, but something more. This is not just a prank — this is her game, her way of doing something special, her own.
I feel how her hand glides over my skin. This touch is almost intimate, as if she is drawing not on my face, but on my soul. What she will leave there — stars, lines, smiles, or scribbles — does not matter.
I like seeing her happy, seeing this sincere pleasure that is read in her every movement. Her eyes shine even brighter when she notices my submission, my silent agreement to be a part of her mischief.
I don't care how long this drawing lasts — a few hours or a few seconds. I know one thing: even when the marker rubs off, I will still remember her laughter, her gaze, and this gentle touch.
I am already imagining how I will "punish" her with kisses for her antics. Hot, deep kisses, filled with that passion that always arises when I look at her. This would be not just a punishment, but an answer, an admission of how strongly she influences me, how easily she fills all the corners of my world.
Having made the last stroke, the girl leans back to evaluate her creation, and, shifting her head now to the right, now to the left, remains satisfied. In her gaze is pride mixed with a playful spark. Rising from the bed, she, laughing, waves her hand like an actress who has finished the main scene.
"I'm finished! You can go admire the creation of the great Katrin, oh my king!" she proclaims with such a theatrical intonation that I cannot hold back my laughter. Her voice is filled with playfulness and self-satisfaction, and she, like a real actress, effectively points her finger in the direction of the bathroom.
I approach the bathroom with a slight degree of disbelief, but, looking into the mirror, I instantly freeze. My reflection causes me surprise at first, and then genuine laughter.
My face turns out to be not at all like usual. Instead of the familiar reflection, I see a cat's face, masterfully depicted by Rebel Girl. A black dot now flaunts on my nose, resembling the nose of a cat. It is so accurate that it seems as if I have really become an animal. The dot goes down and, as it were, spreads out a little to the sides, which resembles a window through which a cat can breathe.
Below, right at the corners of my lips, are two more small black dots, like small brushes; they are almost invisible against the background of my face, but it immediately becomes clear that these — are whiskers. Their lines are thin, as if carefully drawn, going to the sides and giving the face an almost wild, playful look.
My cheeks are not left without attention either. On each of them are three small dots, just as she drew them, each with incredible neatness. These dots stand out slightly against the background of my skin, giving the face a cat-like expression, as if I don't just have a human face, but an entire cat's visage.
I slowly turn my head, watching how the reflection in the mirror becomes more and more bizarre. On my head is a black headband with cat ears, soft, fluffy, like the real ears of a small kitten. They tilt slightly forward, adding playfulness and lightness to my appearance.
These ears, despite their simplicity, create the effect of a complete transformation. My entire posture seems more relaxed, like a cat's, and my movements — lighter and more graceful.
It seems I even feel how my smile begins to spread slightly, but I quickly suppress it. It's not worth giving in to her mischief — she is clearly enjoying my thoughts.
I slowly turn my head toward Rebel Girl, who stands at the door like a little observer, carefully following my every movement.
She comes closer to me, and joy still shines in her eyes. Her hands tremble with laughter as she raises them to my face, as if about to fix something. Her cheeks flush with a blush, and her eyes shine as if thousands of stars are dancing in them.
She tries to say something, but laughter interrupts her words, turning them into a confused stream of sounds — and yet it is more precious to me than any words. Her creation is both funny and touching, and I cannot help but admit that it is a true masterpiece of mischief.
I know that she is watching me, waiting for my reaction, and this thought makes everything even funnier.
"Well, how do you like it?" her voice rings out already behind my back, full of genuine interest and a slight mockery.
I turn around and meet her gaze. Her eyes sparkle with joy, and her lips tremble with the laughter she is clearly trying to hold back. At this moment, I realize that for the sake of such laughter from her, I am ready to endure any of her pranks.
"Meow."
Katrin freezes for a moment, and her eyes flare up — first with surprise, then, unable to bear it, her face spreads into an even brighter smile, and she literally blinks her eyes, as if trying to swallow a new wave of laughter. She tries to say something, but her words mix with lightness, as if they, too, cannot stop, like this endless stream of her joy.
Rebel Girl suddenly laughs so hard that she almost falls to the floor, her laughter unexpected and contagious, like a flash of light in a dark room. Her hands automatically reach for the door, trying to find support, but she still sways a little, as if unable to contain the fun that suddenly bursts into her world.
"You... you are simply a masterpiece! If this were a contest, you would win without any chance for the others!" she finally breathes out, her voice trembling with laughter and genuine delight. Her eyes shine, reflecting the light of the evening sun, and a light blush colors her cheeks. "You know, now you are definitely my kitty."
Without thinking, I pull her to myself, allowing myself to press her a little tighter, as if I am afraid to lose her. My breathing becomes a little heavy when her eyes meet mine, and I know that I will not let her go until I see in her eyes everything that this game hides. I literally feel how her gaze penetrates inside me, and I can no longer either look away or break out of this moment.
"Well, my artist, are you ready for the retaliatory punishment? You do know that I will punish you for this, right?" I ask with a slight hint in my voice, still unable to hide the smile that creeps onto my lips by itself. I follow her every move, feeling how with every moment she sinks more and more into this strange, electrifying world created only for the two of us.
Her gaze becomes more playful, and her lips barely hold back a smile when she raises her eyebrows slightly — almost deliberately. It is so obvious that it seems the whole world knows: she is playing. She is confident in her answer, in the fact that I cannot leave her alone.
"I'm scared, so scared!" Rebel Girl laughs back at me.
I am ready to continue because I know — we will still have an entire eternity for these light pranks.
