Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Why Do His Monsters Only Spawn Inside the House?

When night fell, Soren Park immediately hid in the dirt house with his Mooshrooms.

You can't feel it in the game.

But when actually living in a house constructed of dirt, you can clearly smell that earthy scent of the soil.

The room was narrow, and to ensure the Mooshrooms wouldn't be killed by monsters, Soren Park had to press his whole body against the wall.

The feeling was like being forcibly pinned to the floor by two burly men.

The difference was that it wasn't burly men pinning him down, but two cows, and it was entirely voluntary.

Theoretically, Soren Park could have spent the night in bed, but thinking about sleeping while hugging cows was simply unacceptable to him.

The Block World was too bizarre; animals only needed two items to reproduce. If he really slept with a cow...

Who knew what kind of freakish offspring might be created.

Besides, with two cows pressing against him, Soren Park's small frame couldn't handle it at all, so he had to play it safe.

"Monsters have spawned on the Mooshroom Island!"

Seeing the zombies appearing outside, Soren Park was glad he had chosen to hide indoors.

Even Mooshroom Islands spawn monsters; large-scale civilizations are truly terrifying!

"Fortunately, I had the foresight to get inside the house early, smida!"

"Just a little more, and the zombies would have blocked the door!"

"It's a shame there are no weapons on the island, so I can't kill monsters to compete for the rankings."

"Being the first trial, a high rank will definitely have benefits!"

"Whatever, surviving is enough. There will definitely be opportunities for development later!"

"Exactly, it's not like some contestants who think they're amazing just for making a cobblestone generator!"

"It's already so dark, and he's still not hiding in a house. He's asking for death!"

"Without any gear, he doesn't understand the horrors of the night at all!"

Everyone knew that the higher the rank, the better items one could get, but most contestants had some self-awareness.

Before having armor, weapons, and sufficient food reserves, they would choose to avoid the brunt of the danger.

Only those like Mark and Jett, with rich resources and strong personal capabilities, would go all out.

Soren Park's room was indeed crowded, but through the window, he looked at the opposite sky island.

Despite having built a stone house, Galen Yu hadn't gone inside, but was instead standing blankly on the island.

'Galen Yu must be arrogant, thinking he can kill zombies just because he made stone weapons.'

'He's intentionally staying out of the house just to chase the rankings!'

A cold sneer played on Soren Park's lips.

So ignorant!

Stone weapons indeed deal more damage than wooden ones, but so what?

It's never just one zombie that comes at night!

Without armor, how would he deal with skeletons if they appeared?

Every player who has been to the Block World fears skeletons the most!

The bows in their hands have a long range, and their arrows are endless, seemingly conjured out of thin air.

Often, before a player can get close, they're turned into a pincushion, their health drained!

Only after the Freedom Nation manufactured bows did they have a fighting chance.

As for how bows are made, that's a top secret of the Freedom Nation and wouldn't be leaked easily—set that aside for now.

In such a difficult early stage, where would Galen Yu get the materials to make bows and arrows?

Not to mention the kind of monster that has a chance of spawning at night!

Just thinking about it made Soren Park shiver.

'No, it's only the first day. Even in a large-scale civilization, it's impossible for that to appear...'

Comforting himself that he wouldn't meet that kind of monster, Soren Park shifted his body slightly.

Being squeezed, the two Mooshrooms let out protesting 'moos' and pressed back with even more strength.

Their multi-ton weight was nothing Soren Park could resist; he felt his breath stall and only recovered after a while.

"Phew, phew..."

He gasped for air, avoiding suffocation.

Despite the small space and the pressure from the Mooshrooms, at least he wasn't being bothered by monsters.

Without equipment or food, it was impossible to survive with just a stone sword.

Through the window, he would see for himself the sight of Galen Yu being torn apart by monsters!

However, as time passed, under Soren Park's observation...

While the Mooshroom Island was already teeming with monsters roaming every corner, the unprotected sky island was different.

Not a single zombie appeared.

It was no different from the daytime!

"That's not right, where are the monsters?"

"Mark's side has already killed seven or eight zombies. Why hasn't a single one appeared on the sky island?"

"There are at least a dozen monsters outside Soren Park's place, aren't there?"

"Something's wrong, definitely wrong!"

"How can this be?"

Watching from Soren Park's perspective, the viewers voiced their confusion.

Monsters were guaranteed to spawn at night, regardless of whether a trial was occurring.

Logically, given the size of the sky island, over a dozen zombies should have appeared by now.

Looking closely, Headmaster Quill was the first to realize.

"No, it's not that monsters didn't spawn, it's that they didn't spawn on the sky island!"

Since night fell, Galen Yu had spent most of his time standing still, only occasionally looking back at the stone house.

It was these few glances that gave Headmaster Quill a hint.

"The zombies all spawned inside the small stone house!"

"He knew all along that monsters would appear there!"

Headmaster Quill's eyes widened in disbelief.

Why would zombies not appear on the sky island, but only in the stone house?

Exactly why was this happening, and what did Galen Yu do?!

Sky Island.

Galen Yu looked out at the scene on Mooshroom Island in the distance.

Skeletons and zombies were everywhere, the entire island overtaken.

He remembered that Mooshroom Islands weren't supposed to spawn monsters; they were a safe haven if one didn't mind the lack of resources.

The current situation was likely related to the trial.

'Monsters have appeared?'

Gripping his newly crafted stone sword, Galen Yu looked at the mob spawning platform he had built.

Through the half-block gap, he could clearly see several skeletons and zombies inside.

He stepped outside the room with his stone sword, and the monsters sensed his approach.

"Ugh!"

The zombies raised their arms, and the skeletons lifted their bows.

They all entered a hostile state!

Their feral side revealed, Galen Yu could clearly feel the killing intent from the zombies.

This was his first time facing Block World monsters face-to-face, and the stench of rot was overwhelming.

'This is much more real and thrilling than the game!'

No wonder people were scared. Without Steve's physical traits, ordinary people would indeed find them very hard to deal with.

However...

It was clear the zombies desperately wanted to rush out and tear Galen Yu apart, but they were limited by the blocks.

The hard stone, without support, floated in mid-air in a way that perfectly obeyed block physics, trapping all the zombies inside the house.

"Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!"

The zombies could only growl in impotent rage.

Now, Galen Yu only needed to hold his stone sword and swing it through the half-block gap.

[-5!]

[-5!]

[-5!]

[-5!]

Unable to hit Galen Yu, the zombies died after four strikes.

Over a dozen zombies were instantly reduced to rotten flesh and experience orbs!

"Is he cheating?"

"Wait, what?"

"Everyone else is struggling, and he just one-shotted them?"

"Huh?"

"I suspect I'm not awake. Someone punch me and see if it hurts."

"Holy crap, that hurts! Are you crazy, man?"

"If it hurts, then it's not a dream!"

"..."
