Chapter 51: Part 2 — The Grand Prix of Glitches and Giggles

[Third person POV]

The air in the stadium didn't just vibrate; it shattered. As the first notes of "LEVEL-UP" by The Fast and Furihorse tore through the speakers, the very atmosphere of UA shifted into a neon-soaked, 8-bit fever dream.

Standing at the starting line, the twenty-five students of the "Calamity Class" (including the Support-department's chaotic daughter, Mei Hatsume) were joined by the rest of the student body. Class 1-B stood ready, led by a manic-looking Neito Monoma; the Support Class clutched their "babies"; and the Business Class sat in the stands with spreadsheets, ready to calculate the insurance premiums of what was about to happen.

"THREE!" Midnight roared, cracking her whip.

"TWO!" Present Mic's voice hit a frequency that made every window in a three-mile radius crack.

"ONE!"[KABOOM!]

The race didn't start with a whistle. It started with a literal explosion of glitter and high-octane bass.

The First Lap: The Robo-Inferno (8-Bit Edition)

The first obstacle—the massive Robo-Inferno—was no longer just a wall of metal. Under Bowser-Sunny's influence, the robots had been re-skinned. They now looked like giant, pixelated Koopas, breathing fire that smelled faintly of cinnamon and roasted marshmallows.

Shoto Todoroki didn't hesitate. He swung his arm, a glacier of ice erupting from the ground to create a ramp. "I told you, Midoriya," he muttered, his eyes cold. "I'm not playing games."

But just as he reached the peak of his ramp, the air around him flickered. A giant, floating '?' Block materialized.

Katsuki Bakugo didn't wait for ice. He used his explosions to launch himself upward, punching the block with a scream of "DIE!"

[DING!]

Instead of a power-up, a shower of Nokotan's deer crackers rained down. Bakugo's eyes widened as ten deer—wearing racing goggles and tiny capes—descended from the sky, latching onto his cape and pulling him backward.

"GET OFF ME, YOU FOREST RAT-DOGS!" Bakugo roared, spinning like a top as he tried to blast the deer away.

In the middle of the pack, Izuku Midoriya was muttering at Mach speed, dodging a giant robotic fist. "If I time the jump between the pixels, I can maintain One For All at 20% and—"

[SQUISH]

Izuku looked down. He had stepped on a "Banana Peel" that Minoru Mineta had dropped. But this wasn't a normal peel. It was a sentient, Toon-powered peel that let out a high-pitched giggle and catapulted Izuku directly into the stomach of a giant robot.

"WAAAAAAAH!"

Meanwhile, Aqua was currently running in the wrong direction. "SUNNY! THE TRACK IS MOVING! THE FLOOR IS LAVA! AND I THINK I LEFT MY PURSE IN THE OTHER DIMENSION!" She was sobbing so hard she was accidentally creating a trail of holy water that made the surface behind her incredibly slippery.

Tsuyu Asui and Mezo Shoji utilized the water, Tsuyu sliding like a pro and Shoji using his multiple arms to paddle. Behind them, Toru Hagakure—the newly minted "Jade Beauty"—was causing a literal traffic jam. Not because she was blocking the way, but because every student from Class 1-B was stopping to stare at her shimmering, divine radiance.

"She's... she's beautiful..." a 1-B student whispered, before being trampled by Tenya Iida, who was sprinting with his engines at full burst.

"MOVE ASIDE! RECTITUDE WAITS FOR NO MAN!" Iida shouted, his glasses flashing.

The Second Lap: The Rainbow Ridge of Regret

The track narrowed into a single, glowing strip of Rainbow Road hovering 500 feet in the air. This was where the "Mario Kart" logic truly took hold.

Momo Yaoyorozu was in fourth place, her expression one of terrifying, calm focus. She wasn't looking at the other racers. She was looking at the air. She was looking at the patterns.

Every night, she thought, her brain processing at the speed of a supercomputer. Every night, Sunny makes me play VR Mario Kart. He always takes the inside curve at the third second of the bass drop. He always telegraphs a 'hazard' by wiggling his left horn.

Up ahead, Bowser-Sunny let out a tectonic roar. He slammed his fist into the Rainbow Road, causing a massive wave to ripple through the track.

"HERE COMES THE WAVE!" Denki Kaminari yelled, clinging to Kyoka Jirou's cape. "WE'RE GONNA DIE, EARBUDS!"

"Shut up and hold on!" Jirou shouted, plugging her jacks into the track. She released a high-frequency pulse that counter-acted the vibration, stabilizing a small patch of road for them.

Fumikage Tokoyami took to the skies, Dark Shadow carrying him. "The abyss is high-altitude today," he brooded. But then, a random deer wearing a jetpack flew past him, honking a horn. Tokoyami blinked. "Even the darkness is confused."

Mina Ashido was in her element. She was acid-skating along the guardrails, her pink hair whipping in the wind. "LEVEL UP!" she sang along to the music, doing a 360-flip over a giant rolling boulder that Eijiro Kirishima was currently trying to headbutt.

"SO MANLY!" Kirishima screamed as the boulder shattered against his hardened forehead.

Suddenly, Mei Hatsume zoomed past everyone on a pair of "Emergency Turbo Boots" that were currently on fire. "LOOK AT MY BABIES GO! THEY HAVE A 5% CHANCE OF NOT EXPLODING!"

[BOOM!]

They exploded. Mei was launched into the lead, right past Todoroki.

The Tactical Takeover: Momo vs. The Game

Todoroki and Bakugo were neck-and-neck, fighting for the lead. Todoroki used a wall of fire to push Bakugo back, but Bakugo used a "Howitzer Impact" to clear the flames.

"I'M THE NUMBER ONE! I'M THE KING!" Bakugo screamed.

But they had forgotten one thing: Momo Yaoyorozu had the cheat codes.

Momo reached into her tactical belt—a custom creation for the festival—and pulled out a pair of specialized goggles. She saw the "glitch-lines" Sunny had left in the track.

"He always leaves a shortcut near the giant piranha plant," Momo whispered.

She manifested a high-powered, foldable motorized scooter. But she didn't just ride it. She began creating a series of matryoshka dolls and throwing them behind her.

[POP! POP! POP!]

The dolls didn't explode. They opened up to reveal Hanta Sero's tape, Yuga Aoyama's glitter, and Rikido Sato's high-fructose corn syrup. It was a literal "Trapped Track."

Neito Monoma, who had been trying to copy Todoroki's quirk, slid on the syrup, got stuck in the tape, and was blinded by the glitter. "CLASS 1-A IS CHEATING! THIS IS UNFAIIIIIIII—" he was cut off as a deer stepped on his face.

Momo took the "Glitch Jump." She drove her scooter directly into the mouth of a giant Piranha Plant.

"YAOMOMO!" the class screamed in horror.

But inside the plant was a secret "Warp Pipe." Momo disappeared and reappeared 200 yards ahead of everyone, right at the final stretch.

The Climax: The Bowser-Sunny Final Boss

The final 100 meters was a straight line to the stadium entrance. But Bowser-Sunny was waiting. He had grown to the size of a mountain, his spiked shell glowing with purple fire.

"FINAL BOSS LEVEL!" Bowser-Sunny boomed, his voice syncopated to the beat of the song. "WHO WANTS THE GOLDEN CARROT?!"

He began spitting "Bullet Bill" versions of Nokotan. Dozens of deer-missiles were flying through the air, their antlers acting as heat-seeking sensors.

Mashirao Ojiro, Koji Koda, and Rikido Sato formed a defensive line, Ojiro spinning his tail like a propeller to swat the deer-missiles away while Koda commanded a flock of stadium pigeons to act as decoys.

"GO, MOMO-SAN!" Iida yelled, his legs smoking as he pushed past his limits to act as her shield.

Bakugo and Todoroki were closing in. They were twenty feet behind Momo.

"GET OUT OF THE WAY, PONYTAIL!" Bakugo yelled, his palms glowing.

Momo didn't look back. She knew the final "trick." In the VR game, Sunny always used a "Blue Shell" right at the finish line.

She saw it—a massive, glowing blue deer antler falling from the sky, tracking the person in first place.

Momo didn't panic. She hit the brakes.

[SCREEEECH]

Bakugo and Todoroki, blinded by their competitive rage, shot past her.

[KABOOM!]

The Blue Antler-Shell hit Bakugo and Todoroki simultaneously, creating a mushroom cloud of blue glitter and "Game Over" sound effects. They were frozen in a state of "Stun-Lock" for three seconds.

Momo twisted the throttle on her scooter. She drifted around the smoldering pile of frozen heroes, her hair-cape flowing behind her like a banner of victory.

The song "LEVEL-UP" reached its final, frantic crescendo.

"I'M... THE... BEST!" the speakers roared.

Momo Yaoyorozu crossed the finish line.

The Aftermath: The Ranking of Chaos

The stadium went silent for a heartbeat, then erupted into a roar that shook the earth.

"THE WINNER! CLASS 1-A'S MOMO YAO-YOR-OZU!" Present Mic screamed, his voice breaking. "SHE PLAYED THE SYSTEM! SHE PLAYED THE JUDGE! SHE IS THE TACTICAL QUEEN!"

One by one, the others stumbled across the line.

21. Ochaco Uraraka (She had floated herself and was drifting like a balloon)

22. Minoru Mineta (Stuck to the bottom of Shoji's shoe)

23. Aqua (She crossed the line while being chased by a single, very persistent goose)

24. Neito Monoma (Crawling and cursing the name of Midoriya)

25. Noko Shikanoko (She didn't cross the line; she just stood on it and started eating the finish-line tape).

Bowser-Sunny shrank down, his green shell turning back into a yellow pinstripe suit. He landed softly beside Momo, clapping his gloved hands.

"A masterclass in narrative subversion, Yaomomo!" Sunny chirped, his eyes turning into two golden trophies. "You didn't just race; you coded the win! Five stars! 100% completion! The Golden Carrot is yours!"

Momo panted, wiping a smudge of glitter from her cheek. She looked at the giant leaderboard, then back at the stadium.

"Sunny," she breathed, a small, triumphant smile on her face. "Next time... we're playing 200cc. No items."

Sunny laughed, a sound like a slide whistle. "You got it, Boss! But first..."

He turned to the rest of the students, who were all collapsed on the ground, bruised, glittery, and traumatized.

"Who's ready for Round 2: The Cavalry Battle of a Thousand Toons?!"(OR NOT)

A collective groan of terror echoed through the stadium, but beneath it, the Class of Calamity was grinning. They had survived the race. Now, they were ready to break the rest of the world.
