Chapter 5: Yagami Ryosuke: I Must Study Hard! What Is This Thing? I Can't Learn It!

"With the awakening of my two-tomoe Sharingan and the tenfold chakra boost, my current chakra level is basically close to that of a Jonin. At my age, apart from a very few exceptions, there shouldn't be many people who've reached this level of chakra."

Ryosuke Yagami felt deeply satisfied with the abundant chakra surging through his body. This power was on a completely different level from what he'd had before, it felt incomparably massive.

And the benefits of activating the two-tomoe Sharingan didn't just stop at an increased chakra.

With two tomoe, Ryosuke could now copy other people's taijutsu and ninjutsu through his Sharingan—just like Kakashi, known as the Copy Ninja who had replicated over a thousand techniques.

It was all thanks to that Sharingan!

"Ninjutsu, huh? I couldn't even perform the Academy's "Basic Tree Body Technique" properly before, but now, my trash talent is gone forever!"

Ryosuke could now execute the Transformation Technique, Clone Technique, and Body Replacement Technique—the three basic jutsu he'd struggled in the past, but now with—effortlessly.

The main reason was simple: his Uchiha bloodline had dramatically improved his talent.

While he couldn't claim to match the genius of Itachi, his skills were now within the normal range for an Uchiha.

Not outstanding, but not terrible either!

Lunch break ended.

Ryosuke returned to the classroom and took his seat.

"Ryosuke, do you want to go play by the river after school this afternoon?"

A boy sitting next to him leaned over with the question.

This was Ryosuke's deskmate—like the old Ryosuke, just another background character. As for their relationship... neither good nor bad. Just normal classmates.

"No, I need to go train after school."

Ryosuke declined without hesitation.

"Training? You?"

The other boy stared at him with an expression of pure disbelief.

It seemed impossible to believe that someone as lazy as Ryosuke Yagami would actually take the initiative to train.

Ryosuke didn't bother responding.

What's with that look?

Ryosuke Yagami is turning over a new leaf!

He'd been far too lazy in the past. Clearly lacking talent, yet never putting in the effort. No wonder he'd become a nameless background character.

The first afternoon class was theoretical knowledge.

Ryosuke started out listening attentively to the lesson, but as time passed, his gaze drifted toward the window.

Wow! That cloud looks just like a steamed bun!

Huh?

Speaking of steamed buns... why am I suddenly hungry?

Ryosuke rubbed his stomach. He was indeed a bit hungry.

Perhaps because he'd extracted so much chakra at noon, the lunch he'd eaten had been completely consumed. That's why he got hungry so quickly.

"Seriously, do ninja academies really teach this stuff? Is this really something a ten-year-old should be learning?"

Ryosuke glanced at the parabola graph drawn on the blackboard.

Teacher Iruka was currently explaining the theory and application of shuriken throwing.

But the key issue was...

Isn't this all about feel?

He'd never heard of Itachi learning this stuff, yet his shuriken skills were still exceptional!

"Forget it, forget it. It's better not to waste time on this."

Ryosuke gave up trying to understand the meaning behind the parabolas and numbers. Of course, it wasn't because he couldn't understand them.

But because this stuff was genuinely useless!

Throwing shuriken?

Isn't that something anyone with hands can do?

After the first afternoon class ended, Ryosuke walked over to Hinata Hyuga, who sat in the row beside him.

The Ten-years-old Hinata looked small and adorable.

Ryosuke had an urge to reach out and stroke her blue-purple hair.

Fortunately, he managed to restrain himself. Otherwise, he'd definitely be considered some kind of creep.

"Here."

Ryosuke handed the small mirror he'd used earlier back to Hinata.

"Ah! O-okay."

Hinata timidly took the mirror with her small hands, keeping her head down and not daring to look at him.

"Thank you."

Ryosuke smiled.

"N-no... you're welcome!"

Her voice was so soft he could barely hear it!

Hinata's personality is really too introverted, Ryosuke thought to himself.

I wonder how she developed this habit.

She'd been like this since childhood, hadn't she?

Speaking of environment, isn't Hanabi quite outgoing?

It was probably due to some childhood experiences.

After all, Hinata had been kidnapped by a ninja from Kumogakure when she was only three years old. Having that kind of traumatic childhood experience would inevitably leave psychological scars.

"Still, Hinata is really gentle."

"Just too shy—she doesn't even dare make eye contact with me."

Ryosuke mused quietly.

Perhaps because he'd been standing beside her for too long, Hinata's face began to turn red.

"Um... is there anything else, Ryosuke-kun?"

Feeling embarrassed, Hinata mustered up the courage to ask.

"No, I just think Hinata is quite cute."

Ryosuke said it with a smile.

Cute... cute... cute...

Those words echoed in Hinata's mind countless times.

Her face visibly grew redder and redder.

"R-Ryosuke-kun, you're... you're talking nonsense! W-what cute? I'm... I'm not cute at all—"

Hinata stammered, unable to speak properly.

Seeing this, Ryosuke decided to stop before she fainted on the spot—her signature move.

"I think someone's calling me. I'll be going now!"

"Oh, and thanks again for the mirror!"

Ryosuke made up an excuse and slipped away.

He planned to buy something to eat and tide himself over. Otherwise, he'd starve.

At only ten years old, he was still growing and shouldn't go hungry.

If I end up with stunted growth like Naruto, that would be terrible!

"Ryosuke-kun is lying again..."

Hinata looked up at Ryosuke's retreating figure as he dashed out of the classroom, muttering softly to herself.
