Xavier's hand slid from my waist up to rest lightly against my shoulder, brushing my collarbone just enough that a shiver ran straight to my knees.
"You are trembling." He murmured, voice low, teasing, aware. "Is it the chocolate or me?"
"I-I don't know." I whispered, heart hammering, because honestly, I didn't. My head lolled back slightly against him. Warm, safe, terrifying.
"Hmm." He said softly, lips almost brushing my ear. "I like that uncertainty."
He leaned closer, slower than my mind could process, and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to the side of my neck. Just one, brief and gentle. Yet it sent sparks shooting through my chest and made my pulse leap as it had just remembered it could.
"Xavier!" I squeaked, flailing slightly, but uselessly.
My arms were pinned, my body betrayed me, leaning against him instead of fighting. He chuckled, low and amused, lips brushing my earlobe.
"You are irresistible when you fight me."Xavier teased.
