Julian watched helplessly as his entire future disappeared along with Bella. Marrying her had been his childhood dream, the one thing that had kept him going through everything.
"Bella..." Julian's tortured cry tore through the air.
Helena quickly pressed her hand over Julian's mouth, tears streaming down her face. "Julian, please... you can't scream like that..."
Bella was gone for good. She belonged to the Montgomery family now.
Helena still didn't understand what had really happened, but at least Bella was breathing, and right now, that had to be enough.
Julian's eyes burned red as he watched Bella vanish into the distance. His heart felt like it was being ripped from his chest, following her wherever she went.
Julian suddenly grabbed Helena's arm, his voice cracking with desperation. "Mother, you have to tell me what happened. Why is Bella Mrs. Montgomery now? How did she get hurt so badly?"
Helena's eyes filled with fresh tears at the question.
