Bella's POV
Just two words, yet Jasper's hand trembled as he clutched the pen.
After all, I was his sister, his blood sister, tied to him by ancestry and destiny.
With one decisive stroke, Jasper struck my name from the Fairfax family register.
Richard and Genevieve wept openly, their sobs echoing through the room. Everyone mourned bitterly, consumed by grief, especially Ursula. My heart broke watching Ursula's helpless anguish.
"Enough! Since you've all grown stubborn and refuse to heed me, I'll go with Bella." Ursula trembled as she stepped toward me.
Jasper's threatening voice cut through the air behind her. "Grandmother."
He dropped to his knees, desperation cracking his voice as he bellowed, "Can't you see? If you abandon us, the Fairfax family faces ruin! The King will demand answers. He might even execute us. Grandmother, could you stomach watching generations of our legacy crumble because of your choice?"
Ursula stopped cold, tears streaming down her cheeks.
