Bella's POV
Driven by fury, Jasper charged off to confront me.
When Jasper showed up, I was already waiting by the doorway. I flashed him a sly, taunting grin and drawled, "Lord Jasper, how'd you enjoy getting shut down?"
"Bella!" Jasper went crimson, jabbing his finger at me as he bellowed, "You've crossed the line! You played me on purpose, didn't you?"
I laughed softly, folding my arms across my stomach as I shot back, "Did I drag you to my door begging for medicine? Did I force you to pay up?"
"You're completely ruthless!" Jasper exploded, but I wasn't the same woman he used to know.
That meek girl he could boss around was long gone.
Even in his rage, Jasper couldn't touch me now.
I gave a light nod and replied, "So you think I'm ruthless? Then you'd better stay away from now on. If I ever really 'poison' you, you'll be in deep trouble."
As I spoke, I pointed straight at Jasper, my eyes burning with challenge.
Jasper sucked in a breath, choking back his rage.
