Dominic's POV
I stayed silent.
Right now, I felt exactly like Theodore must have felt back then.
Goosebumps erupted across my skin, like some kind of burning rash taking over.
Restlessness consumed me completely.
My eyes darted to the bomb mounted on the car door, my entire body rigid. I couldn't even bring myself to look at Felix sitting next to me.
"Actually... I could just surrender," I said.
"Don't!" Felix shot back. "Weren't you always acting so high and mighty?"
I kept my mouth shut.
"Uh..." I paused, gathering what little courage I had left. "You're my brother-in-law. We're on the same team here. No need to be this brutal, right?"
Felix looked genuinely puzzled. "Who's your brother-in-law?"
"You are! Don't you get it? What I feel for Amara runs deeper than the ocean and reaches higher than any mountain. She's the brightest star lighting up my heart, showing me which way to go. Without her, everything would turn gray..."
