Amara's POV
Before Vancourts could continue, Dominic abruptly lifted his hand toward the artwork before us, labeled "The Genesis of the Universe and Gods."
"This piece looks impressive. You created this?" he asked.
The question left Vancourts visibly shaken.
Guilt flickered across her features.
"Naturally," she replied.
Vancourts's smile turned rigid as stone.
"Every piece in this exhibition came from my brush," she continued.
"Is that so?" Dominic chuckled like he'd heard the world's best joke, yet he didn't call her out.
Instead, he spoke deliberately, "Vancourts, I'm curious if you've encountered a particular phrase..."
Vancourts clearly wanted to escape this conversation with Dominic.
But I could see she understood his temperament.
With this crowd surrounding us, humiliating Dominic would only guarantee he'd return the favor tenfold.
She had no idea what lengths he might go to then.
After weighing her options, Vancourts forced herself to ask, "What phrase?"
