Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Beauty

There was nothing the guys would do. If they took me to the hospital, they would be questioned and that's not what they wanted, so they fled and never looked back. Meanwhile, I had to make a plan. I had the money on me, so going out injured with so much cash was an issue. I had no choice but to call Bricks.

"Tell me you're on your way back," Bricks said when he answered.

"Bricks, I am injured," I said.

"What??"

"There was a shootout here, and I got shot," I told him.

"Damn, are you owk??" Bricks asked.

"No, damnit! Would I call you if I was ok??"

"Sorry. Where are you??"

"Still at the building," I said.

"The police might be on their way as there was a shootout. I suggest you move," Bricks warned.

Immediately, I heard the sirens. "Too late, I hear the police sirens," I said.

"Move away fast!"

"I don't think I will make it. I might get caught," I told him. "Listen, I will hide the money in the rubbish bin on the 11th floor. The 12th floor will be flooded with police. Get the bag there."

"Boi, what are you thinking?? Don't do anything stupid, I am on my way," Bricks said.

"Don't worry about me, just do as I say or risk having me locked up. And don't call me until I call you," I said.

I hung up. I then deleted all call history and switched my phone off. I pushed myself to the 11th floor and hid the bag in the rubbish bin as I said I would. Then I laid on the stairs and gave up. I could hear the footsteps of people running. As they got up, I realized it wasn't the shooters, but bystanders. They saw me and carried me down as they called an ambulance. When they got down, the police helped and asked me if I was owk, but I didn't give a response. My eyes were starting to fail me. The activities happening around me became faint and, in no time, I blacked out.

After hanging up the call, I didn't know what to do whether to go there and check on her or wait till she calls. I was going crazy. I wanted to call her, but her words made me hesitate. I sat down and breathed in and out.

Journalist (Tumi)

I was so excited that Mr. Wolf had agreed to the interview. Now I was working on questions to ask him. I made a post on my friend's Instagram since she had followers to see what they would love to ask Mr. Wolf.

"So Naledi, what kind of questions did you get??" I asked.

"Well, 90% of the questions are based on his love life, 8% are interested in his childhood, and 2% are interested in his business life," she replied.

"Wow, your followers should relax because he is about to be taken," I said.

"Well, he isn't as yet," she noted.

"He will be soon."

"Owk," she said. "Read me the questions, I will choose the most important ones and the ones that won't embarrass me."

"Owk. First comment: 'You are a successful young businessman, you have conquered that, so why are you still single?'"

"Sounds owk," I said.

"Does race matter??"

"I doubt it does," I replied.

"Do you have a social life??"

"Ouuu, that's a good one," I said. "Plus he never talks about parties and having fun. All he talks about is business."

"Hahahaha, seems you know too much of him," Naledi laughed.

"Of course, he is my future husband," I said.

"Hahahaha, owk let's carry on. 'What motivated you into going into business management and owning a business?'"

"Ouuu, that's definitely going in," I said.

"You never talk about your childhood, where are your parents??"

"That's a good one. He hardly speaks about his parents," I noted.

"Do you have any siblings that are handsome like you??"

"I will omit the 'handsome' part," I said.

"Hahahaha, 'Do you do a 1-night stand? I can volunteer.'"

"That's straight up selling yourself," I said.

"I guess anyone would do anything to be with Mr. Wolf, even for one night," she replied.

"Your followers are thirsty."

"Hahahaha, aren't you??"

"Mxm. I don't want to hear anymore of your followers' questions or else my brain will blow off," I said.

I went on YouTube to search for interviews and watched a couple of videos based on business and entrepreneurship.

Next day

I woke up to the sound that went "Peep!! Peep!! Peep!!" As I got up, I realized I was in the hospital. I sat up and sighed. I reached for my phone on the table and called Bricks. He answered very quickly.

"Are you owk??" he asked.

"I am fine. I got admitted to the hospital," I told him.

Bricks breathed heavily. "Thank goodness, I almost thought that you were dead or arrested."

"My plan worked out well," I said.

"I almost ruined it by coming there. But I had to trust you because I knew you would not say that without a reason, so I held myself," he said.

"Yah, well, did you send someone to get the bag??" I asked.

"Yah, I had the guys hurry there. The bag had your fingerprints; if the police had found it, you would be arrested," he said.

"Thank you bra Bricks," I said.

"No need, we are one, remember?"

"Yah."

"So how are you now??" he asked.

"Just my painful arm," I replied.

"You will be alright. I will be there right now."

"No need," I said.

"Too late, I am already in a taxi."

"Sigh."

"Did you eat? Are you hungry??" he asked.

"Mhm. Will you buy me food??"

"Of course. But no bunnies. You need healthy food," he said.

"Hai leave ke," I told him.

"Hahahaha. Bye."

"Shap," I said.

I hung up and pouted alone as I looked at my arm. "Mxm," I muttered.

Leon

I just arrived at the meetup point under the bridge. I was waiting for one of our guys. He came shortly after I arrived.

"Boss," he said.

I looked at him and went to him. He nodded and I reached out my hand, signaling for him to hand it to me. He handed me the bag and I opened it. I looked at the diamonds carefully.

"If I find out that it's fake, better run as far as you can because I will find you and kill you," I said.

"I assure you boss, it's real stuff. I tested them," he replied.

"Owk, you may go now," I said.

He nodded and left. I went back into my car and drove straight home. I went to my bedroom and into my closet. In my closet, I had a secret under-closet. I hid the switch very well. I opened it and the stairs appeared. I walked down to where all my guns and diamonds belong. I placed the diamonds under the test and indeed they were real. I smiled and took out my phone. I called Mr. Ronaldo.

"Mr. Wolf," he answered.

"Mr. Ronaldo, I have good news for you. Your order is ready. We are able to ship it as soon as you want it," I said.

"Amazing, I was about to call to ask. I will send the full details, but as always, I want you here in person," he said.

"I will be there to deliver," I told him.

"I hardly trust anybody, that's why I like dealing with the big guns only," he replied.

"I understand you fully. Trust is not something to be given to anyone," I said.

"Exactly, Mr. Wolf. I guess I will see you soon."

"See you soon, Mr. Ronaldo," I said.

I hung up and smiled. I packed the diamonds with the others and went back up to my closet, closing the secret entrance. I then headed back to my company.
