Keifer: Sunshine!!!! I finally got you !!!...and I am never letting you go again...
The moment " sunshine" left his mouth..I became stunned...my eyes became wide ...my mind put fullstop in all my thoughts....the word which I haven't heard in so many years..the word which lingered only in my dream.. finally I heard it in real....
Jay : s...star!!
Something stiffened in keifer's face..the cry that he was holding came out ripping through his lungs ...he sobbed in my shoulder hugging me more tightly...
Keifer: so....so..you didn't forget me ...you remembered me ... sunshine....
My eye's got teary...i hugged keifer back....the thought that keifer is my lost Best friend made me sob louder...not in sorrow but overwhelmed in happiness...the music became slow ....but what mattered at that time was ...We both found our safe places....
After 30 minutes
Keifer section E and I are now sitting in a room of King 's ground..... keifer sat beside me holding my hands tightly....I let him do that... section E was smiling at me ... though I knew everyone...yet i pretended that I was meeting them for the first Time...
Breaking the silence finally yuri spoke up ...
Yuri : so ...you are Jay Jay.. keifer's childhood cru- bestfriend..
I nooded..
Jay : yeah...
Yuri : well I am yuri hanamitchi...
Yuri forwarded his hand for a friendly handshake but making me frown keifer shook his hand and said...
Keifer: she is my bestfriend..I will introduce you guys to her...and she doesn't need any handshake...
Section E chuckled...I shook my head though a small smile crept on my face....
Kiefer introduced everyone to me ... ci-n that kid was literally jumping like a monkey on meeting me ...
David: you are gorgeous Jay.. Nice to meet you ...
Jay : thanks David..
Blaster: we have heard a lot about you from him ... finally our single class president won't stay single...
Though I understood what he meant...I still gave a innocent smile and said...
Jay : well won't stay single means?
I saw keifer turning red ..he quickly changed the topic...
Keifer: Jay Jay.... finally I got to meet you ...how are you ? And when did you come to Philippines?
Jay : I am doing great...and I came back 2 weeks ago ( I lied )
Keifer: oh ..
Jay : how are you doing keifer ?
Kiefer: just going on ...but truly speaking I missed you ... Jay...I missed you a lot ..
Jay : ( smiling softly) same here...
Keifer: I just... didn't expect to see you tonight...
Jay : Neither did I,...do you remember?? You used to say my laugh sounded like a broken whistle.??
Keifer: ( laughing) And you used to throw rocks at me for saying that,
Jay :( chuckling ) you deserved it ..
Keifer: ( grinning) Absolutely...so ..how is life treating you ?
Jay : Complicated. Busy. A little messy. But okay. We are in grade twelve now ... Can you believe it ??
Kiefer: No. Last time I saw you, you were crying because I ate your last chocolate.
Jay : You stole it...And then told me sharing builds character...
Kiefer: I was very wise at ten....
All of us burst out laughing...
Jay : so ...How's life, Mr. Wise ?
Keifer: Grade twelve. Stress. Dreams. Confusion....and missing you ...
Jay : you really missed me that much??
Keifer: All the time,...Especially on my birthday. You used to be the first one to wish me. Even before my parents...
Jay : you still remember that ??
Kiefer: how can I forget the person who always claimed me as hers Even before we knew what owning someone means..
My cheeks burned...
Jay :( teasingly ) so hugging childhood crushes is your thing now? ..huh mr crime partner..
Keifer: Only if they're named Jay...😘😘
Section E said in unison " ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
"Lover boy flirting already.."
Jay : You're still impossible.
Keifer: And you're still the girl who makes me forget what I'm supposed to say.
Section E dramatically flipped on the couch...I was 25 cents that my ears were red ...
Jay : ( laughing) Do you remember? how we promised we'd never stop being best friends? Pinky promise.??
Keifer: ofcourse how can I forget that...you know Jay...I kept your old messages,The stupid ones. The ones where you complained about homework. I reread them whenever I felt alone....You were my safe place,...When you left, it felt like I lost a part of myself."....
Jay : sorry keifer...I took too long...
Keifer: ( shooking his head) it's okay... atleast you are back...Do you know what scared me the most?
Jay : what ?
Keifer: ( looking directly into my eye's) That if I ever saw you again... you wouldn't recognize me...and that part would even hurt me more than the year's waiting...
The room felt silent....
Jay : I am not going to disappear keifer...not again...
Keifer: I won't let you go Jay...I don't want to loose you again...
I hugged keifer tightly.. keifer rested his head on my shoulder.... section E for the first time didn't tease..they wiped their moist eyes...
After a warm heartfelt conversation section E started their chaos... keifer was smiling while resting his hand on my waist....
Suddenly keifer asked...
Keifer: well Jay Jay...umm ...can I ask you something?
Jay : since when you are taking my permission to ask me something mr troublemaker...😅
He chuckled nervously...
Keifer: no ...well ..it's just that..
Jay: yeah go ahead..the WiFi here is strong..it shouldn't glitch...
Section E burst out laughing...
Keifer: well ..do you have a boyfriend...or you have ever been in any relationship..
Section E looked at me ...eagerly waiting for my answer...
I said nodding my head..
Jay : no ..I have never been in any relationship... neither I have a boyfriend...I am single from birth...
Kiefer exhaled a deep sigh...he looked extremely happy on hearing I am single
Jay : what about you ?
Keifer: ( Instantly) no girlfriend.....I have never been in any relationship...i have never even held anyone 's hand except yours....
I mouthed a "ooo" ... Yuri was going to say something when Sophia called me ...
I excused myself...
Jay: Hello...
Sophia: Jay your dad called us...he said you weren't picking up his calls...it's late ...you should go back...
Jay : OK...I am coming...
I hang up and looked at keifer...he was already looking at me ...
Keifer: Jay any problem?
Jay : dad is looking for me in home... sorry po ...but I have to go back...
Keifer pouted but said..
Keifer: oh ...it's okay...you should go back..it's late ...well let me drop you ..
Jay : thanks keifer but I brought my car ...
Keifer: oh okay then be safe..and yeah ...give me your phone number.. remember to text me when you get home...
Thankfully I had two numbers..I gave my other number to him ... before leaving we shared a friendly hug again....
Keifer: see you soon... take care of yourself sunshine..
Jay : you too star ✨....
At home
It's been 1 hour since I am back home...I was stating at the celling while giigling at nothing..a relief spread across my face..so...I didn't break my promise...I had my first kiss with none other than my crush...I giggled and rolled in my bed thinking about keifer 's hug and lips..but suddenly a thought peek from my head ruining my sweet moments....
Keifer kissed Jayden not me ....and the most important part...I am Jayden at school....a boy ...if they get to know that I am jay ..then ????
I sat up abruptly...no freaking way ...if keifer misunderstands me ....I groaned....why God..why did I think of that stupid idea...now how to cover up everything...it's a total mess ....
I fell back....if I could go back to past then I would surely join as a girl...not a boy ...I would just go and tell directly to keifer...hey keifer I am your childhood bestfriend sunshine...now hug me ...
I rolled in my bed again...
Jay : Doraemon..how I wish you were here with me ...I really need your time machine now....😭😭
