Chapter 5 - Chapter 3.5 - The emergency at hand

Muffled screaming could be heard coming from the entrance

— That's deffinitly Serena's voice, capitain Reinard, shouldn't you go do something about her?

— Yeah, she IS kinda your responsability.

The two young girls provoked the Capitain as if it were natural

— Capitain Rosa, 1st lieutenant Espina, this is a serious meeting, please, no distractions.

Together, they answer — Yes, colonel Krugieeee.

— Stop with the "Krugie", it's Kruger, you disrespectfull brats!

— You're just jealous you're old and still a Major, major butt.

— It's Buck, and you better stop with the puns!

— All you have are those muscles, you have no hair, you are bald and you...uhm...are hairless!

— And he's dumb, sis.

— Yeah, and you're dumb!

— Nice.

The twins high five and giggle.

— That's it, I'll show you two who you're messing with! First, you Rosa, all you have are those pretty blue eyes, you have no muscle, you have no form and you have no charm!

— Ouch! — Exclaimed Vino

— And Espina, all you have is...big busts, they aren't even pecks, they are useless bags of fat! Go work out! You could be a Capitain for the gods sake!

— Hey! Thats sexual harassement, damn geezer.

A heavy and long sigh was let out by the Colonel, who had a grren paper in her hands

— SILENCE!

The thundering voice of a woman broke through the two parties altercation

— Colonel, I'm sorry, these two should behave before you arrive and I...

— I told you to be silent, all of you.

As she said that, the air in the room started to become heavy and cold, the moonlight shone through a small window, reflecting the Colonel's silky, long and dark hair that contrasted her deep-red eyes.

She adjusted her glasses to read from the green paper

"To all Crusaders' HQs, gatter all available high ranking officers, this is an emmergency report.

The Sulfur Stronghold has fallen, leave immediatly to the capital to group up and go to the battlefield, further reports will be sent soon."

She then folded the paper, that dimly lit right after.

The silence grew louder, but capitain Reinard started breathing heavily, looking closely, the Colonel could se him shivering and sweating.

The Colonel opened the paper once again after it dimmed down.

— Another report with casualties came. Reinhardt was nowhere to be found, capitain Reinard.

The Capitain quickly stood up.

— I will gatter all I need for the trip, all of you, hurry, we have no time to waste.

On his seat a thick sheet of ice could be seen covering the chair, and with each step he took, the ground froze with deep blue ice.

— We are not finished yet, Reinard, the report that came is lengthy, so sit down and listen to it.

— My...best friend is in trouble...I cannot be still right now, I am sorry, but I am...removing myself.

As he said that, Reinard walked out of the door, leaving the meeting and ignoring his superior's order.

— Dumbass...

— Yeah, so dumb, sis.

After a heavy sigh, major Buck sternly said — You both, do not insult that man right now, he and general Reinhardt are childhood friends...do not underestimate men's bonds, he must be in despair hearing such news.

— But they are right, he is, as they said, very dumb.

— We didn't say "very", Colonel.

— Whenever he sees that Reinhardt, his face lights up, it's as if he's a different person, thats why he's incredibly dumb...as the twins said.

— Didn't say "incredibly" either.

A voice unspoken untill now was heard saying — Hummm...I know I'm new on the higher ranks, but shouldn't we be reading the rest of the letter?

Everyone turned to where the voice came from.

— Oh, I forgot sub-lieu... I mean, 1st lieutenant Vino was here, unbelieveble luck you have, getting promoted just yesterday, huh?

— You where mistaking me for my brother, but that doesn't matter right now, Colonel, shall we hear the contents of the report?

— Ah...hum...Yes, sub...1st Lieautenant, as far as I can see it's a report about the damages done to the stronghold, number of casualties and...they will send a detailed reteling of the events, told by general Ancile...he lost an arm during the fight, Reinhardt told him to run away with the rest of the troops and that he'd hold the demons back...only general Ancile made it out...

— Tow...Two generals lost? How is that possible?

— What do you mean, bald? I know Generals are strong, but if the demons swarm them, no way they'd win, right?

— Yeah, no way anyone wins in such an unfair fight, sis!

— You girls know nothing, I've tasted the powers of one of the Gerenrals by my own hands, general Ancile was kind enough to train with my squad when I was still a Lieautenant, he was an impenetrable wall, we'd attack him ten on one, we'd try every blindspot, we threw every magic...the man was a one man phalanx, an impenetrable wall...I can't belive someone like that could even get hit...

The Colonel clicked her toungue — Dammit...We have no time to waste...I'll inform both 1st lieutenant and 2nd lieautenant Amari that we're leaving to Lúmen ASAP, Vino, go tell your brother that he now is a 2nd Lieautenant and go gather your things to leave, Buck, Rosa and Espinawill spread to tell all city guard outposts the situation, I will go to the Guild to speak with master Siegfried, we meet in 30 minutes at the north gate, no delays allowed! Now go!

— Yes, Colonel!

All scram, but the Colonel stays behind to write a letter.

— Hopefully she'll understand and come join us...she'll be our best chance on this war.
