Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Prelude to the Performance

To fully acquire and freely utilize the Nine-Tailed's massive Chakra, the seal placed by the Fourth Hokage must be broken.

However, Naruto was completely helpless regarding this.

He did not know Sealing Techniques at all.

The only Tailed Beast that knew a bit of Sealing Techniques was Shukaku, but Shukaku was still sealed by the Hidden Sand Village.

The Nine-Tailed had been sealed for decades and had no way to deal with the seal, only able to slowly wear it down using Chakra.

Sealing Techniques are extremely complex and profound, involving the precise structure of Chakra, the understanding and drawing of runes, and interference with spatial and even conceptual levels.

Sometimes, even with complete books and careful guidance from famous teachers, those lacking talent might not even be able to get started, let alone trying to figure it out by themselves without guidance—that would be practically a pipe dream.

Therefore, Naruto naturally turned his attention to the Third Hokage.

As the Hokage who had governed Konoha for many years and collected countless Ninjutsu scrolls, his location was undoubtedly the best source.

Konoha must have a large collection of Sealing Techniques books, right?

He absolutely did not believe that when Uzumaki Mito and Uzumaki Kushina, both Nine-Tails Jinchuriki from the Uzumaki Clan, married into Konoha, Konoha would not have copied and studied the exquisite Sealing Techniques they possessed.

This knowledge must be properly stored somewhere.

But how to reasonably request these advanced Sealing Techniques was a difficult problem.

If he directly exposed that he had learned Wood Release and used it as leverage to gain the qualification to learn Sealing Techniques, it would undoubtedly cause huge upheaval and intense investigation. The risk was too high, making it completely counterproductive.

After careful consideration, Naruto realized he had to present a "bargaining chip" that was weighty enough but not too shocking as an exchange.

Therefore, Naruto could only focus on the innate talents of the Uzumaki Clan: Adamantine Sealing Chains and Kagura Minds Eye.

He could completely pretend that, through some opportunity, he accidentally awakened the Uzumaki Clan's Kagura Minds Eye or Adamantine Sealing Chains, even if it was only the most preliminary manifestation.

Naruto could then use this as a reason to apply to the Third Hokage to systematically learn Sealing Techniques, so as to better control and develop this bloodline power.

This reason was logical and reasonable, and it would largely dispel Sandaime's doubts, perhaps even making him feel relieved.

This is the reality of not having a cheat system; if you want to obtain certain crucial things, you must expose some of your trump cards to others in exchange for resources and opportunities.

In Naruto's view, this was a necessary and calculated transaction.

However, figuring out how to learn Adamantine Sealing Chains and Kagura Minds Eye was another huge problem.

After much thought, Naruto turned his gaze toward the depths of his consciousness space, where the giant, lazily crouching fox lay.

The difficulty of "Adamantine Sealing Chains" was too high.

Moreover, Naruto had absolutely no one to teach him.

It took Naruto three months just to fumble around and create Chakra threads.

Those materialized Chakra chains looked like they required extremely precise Chakra shape manipulation and nature transformation, and were definitely not something that could be imitated overnight.

But the other signature ability of the Uzumaki family—Kagura Minds Eye—seemed to offer room for maneuver.

The essence of this technique is an extremely large-scale, fine perception ability, capable of even discerning malice in Chakra.

Thinking of this, Naruto's eyes lit up.

As for Kagura Minds Eye... doesn't the Nine-Tailed naturally possess a similar, or even stronger, malice perception ability?

The Nine-Tailed's perception of malice is extremely acute; it is practically its instinct.

Naruto would occasionally hear the malicious insults directed at him in the hearts of villagers who were merely standing by, thanks to the Nine-Tailed's malice perception.

If he could borrow the Nine-Tailed's perception ability and disguise it as a preliminary awakening of "Kagura Minds Eye"... then he could present an extremely reasonable and convincing argument to the Third Hokage, claiming he needed to systematically learn Sealing Techniques to "control" and "deeply understand" this suddenly awakened bloodline perception ability.

This plan was undoubtedly much more feasible than trying to figure out Adamantine Sealing Chains on his own.

After quickly communicating with the Nine-Tailed and reaching an agreement, Naruto did not hesitate and immediately set off for the Hokage Building.

He knew well that the essence of this "sudden awakening" act lay entirely in the shock and authenticity brought by the word "sudden."

At this moment, the instant he "perceived" the abnormality in his ability, he rushed straight to the Hokage Office, filled with panic and confusion, seeking help from his most trusted "Grandpa Sandaime."

The effect created by this timing was the best.

Any hesitation would seem deliberate; only this breakneck pace could maximally simulate a genuine reaction to an unexpected situation.

A Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, only seven or eight years old, suddenly awakens the Uzumaki Clan's Kagura Minds Eye, which can perceive good and evil, and senses the malice directed at him by passersby.

Therefore, his "panicked" dash to seek help from the elder closest to him in the Village was the most natural and reasonable reaction.

Tell me, would the old man Sandaime be unhappy because Naruto suddenly barged in, especially when facing a child who relies on him, trusts him so deeply, and whose first instinct when his power undergoes an uncontrollable change is to seek him out?

The answer is clearly no.

Not only would this not arouse suspicion, but it would greatly satisfy Sandaime's sense of responsibility and protectiveness as the Hokage and an elder, further solidifying Naruto's image in his mind as "innocent and reliant on the Village."

This carefully planned "accident" was undoubtedly a good move that would maximize benefits.

The entrance to the Hokage Building usually did not have fixed guards standing watch.

This was not due to lax defense, but a specific policy adopted by the Third Hokage to maintain his image as being close to the people and receptive to public opinion.

He allowed any villager or Ninja to enter the building directly to issue mission requests to him personally, or to voice difficulties and opinions that could not be solved at the grassroots level.

Of course, theory was theory; few people would actually charge recklessly into the Hokage Office on the top floor without being announced to find him.

Most matters were diverted and processed downstairs.

Today, however, was clearly an exception.

Naruto shot into the Hokage Building like a gust of wind, ignoring the astonished looks cast his way, and rushed straight up the stairs to the top floor.

He had indeed never been to Sandaime's office and didn't know which door it was, but more importantly, he had to perfectly display the panic and urgency of a child encountering an unknown change.

Thus, in that quiet and solemn corridor, his hurried and loud shouts rang out: "Grandpa Sandaime! Grandpa Sandaime! Where are you?!"

This loud shouting was not only for quick location but was also a necessary component of the performance he had designed.

A truly frightened child's first reaction is to search for the adult they rely on most, and they will call out in the most direct and loudest manner possible.
