Chapter 17 - Recognition, Alert, and System Rewards

The cold wind of the forest still blew over the training field, marked by blood, mud, and broken trees. Ren Kurosawa remained unconscious, his young and fragile body still trying to recover from his **first real battle**, exhausted from extreme physical effort, his injuries, and the use of the system's **emergency function**, which, while allowing him to survive, had drained his energy reserves far beyond what his body could quickly restore.

The unconsciousness lasted for hours, as his body needed time to replenish energy, cope with the excessive strain, and process the burden of using the system before being fully prepared. Every muscle ached, each breath was heavy, and blood circulated slowly through his cuts and bruises.

Then firm footsteps broke the silence. A **village medical ninja**, following the sounds of the battle and the commotion caused by the boar, found Ren collapsed. The ninja's shock was immediate: **a four-year-old child had faced and defeated a chakra-enhanced creature**. His eyes widened, and he could hardly believe what he was witnessing.

Quickly, the ninja assessed the injuries: deep cuts on the shoulder, bruises on the back and legs, scratches across the body, and extreme exhaustion. Carefully, he lifted Ren in his arms and began carrying him to the **newly founded hospital**, still processing the incredible scene he had witnessed.

At the hospital, Ren was placed on a bed, his body still trembling, as chakra-augmented healing techniques and reinforced bandages were applied. He remained unconscious for hours while the **system monitored his body, accelerated physical recovery, and recalibrated chakra control**.

When he finally opened his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the **medical ninja beside the bed**, adjusting small techniques to relieve pain and tension. His eyes carried surprise and respect, but also caution.

Ren then noticed a **discreet shadow at the entrance**: an **ANBU ninja** had silently exited shortly after he awoke. The conclusion was immediate: someone would probably inform the **Hokage** about what had happened. After all, **a four-year-old child, outside any recognized clan, defeating a chakra-enhanced boar was completely extraordinary**.

A chill ran down Ren's spine. He realized he had **been noticed**, and that his actions now had visible consequences. Every future move, training, and jutsu application would have to consider **who might be watching**.

While still processing the situation, the **system initiated an internal conference**, delivering detailed reports and rewards:

> "Survival mission completed. Combat evaluation performed. Initial trainings completed. Rewards available."

The rewards were divided into two categories:

1. **For victories in pre-academy jutsu training:**

 * **Common metal sword** – simple, reliable, stored in the system space until retrieved; cannot be returned after removal.

 * **Wind Jutsu – Palm of Wind (Rank C)** – a basic version of the jutsu used by Nagato. Ren knew he was **far from able to achieve the same effect as a master**, being able at most to use the technique to drive shurikens deeper into trunks or trees during training.

Ren reflected on something the system constantly demonstrated: **the same jutsu can produce completely different results depending on who uses it**. Two ninjas can perform the exact same movement, yet one may destroy an entire wall while the other barely moves a piece of wood. A clear example from his new village's history: **Madara Uchiha could master a simple fire technique with enough power to surpass dozens of jonins using even powerful water jutsus**. The same technique, wielded by someone without talent or experience, would be ineffective.

2. **For victory against the chakra-enhanced boar:**

 * **One-third increase in body resistance** – improves overall durability and the ability to endure injuries and fatigue.

Ren absorbed every detail mentally. He understood that these rewards, although simple, were crucial for his growth, **expanding his strategic options and physical resilience for future challenges**. The sword and jutsu added new tactical possibilities, while the increased resistance gave him more margin to face stronger opponents.

Even with his body aching, his mind was already working:

* Training had to continue, but **with caution and strategy**;

* The system was powerful but could not be used indiscriminately;

* Implicit recognition by the Hokage and observation by the ANBU required **discretion in every action**;

* Every future action had to **balance growth, training, and attention from powerful figures**.

Ren closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the system register each healed wound, every physical improvement, and every learned jutsu, preparing internal reports and reinforcing the silent message: **to survive, improve, and evolve requires strategy, caution, and emotional discipline—not just brute strength**.

The day marked not only his **first real battle**, but also the realization that **the ninja world was already watching him**, and that every action, even in isolation, could have significant consequences.
