This story is different. It is darker from the very first page. You will find horrible things buried in the hearts of my characters. I warn you now so you cannot later say you weren't prepared. This darkness is not for shock; it has a purpose.


The chapters are long (4k–6k words), detailed, and heavy with a serious tone. They are not slow, but they are dense—enough to make you feel as if you are living inside these characters' skins. Greetings. I am Hàng Wàng Wùjī, Dàozǔ of the Hàngwō Sect.


The world you are entering is dark to the bone—a place of psychological and physical horror. As both I and the yào Wèi Yīlíng are central to this story, the first volume will follow my point of view. For now, I am the active party; he remains passive.


In later volumes, the perspective will shift to Wèi Yīlíng during my… absence. Chapter 0 is designed to let you experience what he felt, and how he saw me. Do not be alarmed—it is the only chapter from his view for now.
