Aden gripped the knife in his non dominant left hand as his right arm was injured. The monster charged forward with high speed, Aden bended his knees and bend down and stabbed the knife in the monster's jaw from below. Blue coloured blood dropped out from the monster's jaw, Aden pulled the knife out and stabbed in the right eye socket.
The monster roared in agony, Aden saw the opportunity and stabbed the knife in his neck. Due to the brute force, the monster stopped at the moment for a bit. Aden left the knife stuck in the monster's neck and started to run away.
As he ran, he looked behind and saw the monster once again chasing him, Aden panicked and hid behind a tree. The monster stood at the place, waiting for some sound. Aden looked down and picked up a small stone and threw it in the opposite direction, which caused a sound that distracted the monster.
Aden saw his chance and slowly started to walk carefully instead of running as he had now understood that if he will run, it will make sound that can attract the monster's attention towards him. Aden carefully took each step and tried to make no sound or any noise that could attract the monster.
As he walked, he stumbled across a tree, due to him bumping in the tree, a bat like creature started to scream loudly.
"Oh, shit."
Aden had not walked far enough from the monster, as the monster was still in his view, the monster turned back. The knife that was stuck in his neck fell down. Aden stayed completely still and didn't moved an inch. The monster dashed towards the tree where Aden was standing and grabbed the bat and killed it in an instant.
Aden looked at that disgusting moment as the monster started to eat the bat. Aden now knows that he has no escape and he has to fight this monster. Aden summoned his shadow and kicked the monster in the stomach.
The monster skidded back then Aden and his shadow charged towards him. The shadow punched the monster in the gut and when Aden was about to kick him, the monster stopped the attack by catching Aden's leg. The monster roared and lifted his skinny arm up and was about to punch Aden, the shadow tried to help Aden and punched the monster but the monster kicked Aden's shadow and it crashed in a trees.
The monster's hand came forward, Aden anticipated the punch and when the monster's hand reached Aden's face, Aden caught the monster's hand and stopped the blow. And he summoned his second shadow from beneath which landed an uppercut to the monster.
The monster stumbled back but steadied himself, but before he could attack, Aden's first shadow came from behind and landed a strong kick on the face then the second shadow punched in the stomach. The monster fell down and crashed on a big chunk of rock that cracked from the impact.
Aden saw the knife and charged towards it, before he could reach it, the monster stood up and charged towards him. Aden used his left arm's elbow and hit the monster in the jaw. The attack broke the monster's jaw.
Aden reached the knife and picked it up, then stabbed the monster in the left side of the chest, anticipating that the monster's heart might be there.
"Remember Aden, the monsters present in this world were humans before, so their body structure is same. And if you punctured the heart of any human they will die."
Aden remembered this conversation of him and his mother when she was training him for fighting threats in the real world. Due to this Aden stabbed in the position of the heart.
The monster slowly started to tremble and then stopped. This movement of him confirmed that the monster is dead and Aden pulled the knife out and his shadows returned too.
The atmosphere was very lonely and was not looking safe so Aden decided to go at that same house and get some rest. He did not had any medicines or bandages to stop the bleeding from his right arm, so he decided to remove his jacket and use it as a bandage to stop the bleeding.
He tied his jacket in his right arm which eventually stopped the bleeding and started to walk towards that house where he woke up.
The forest was very silent, due to this the sound of Aden's footsteps echoed through the dark forest. As he walked forward, the house started to came in the view.
He reached the house and saw the big hole that occurred when he crashed into the house from the first blow by the monster.
He looked around and went in, Aden saw the metal desk in there and used it to block the hole by keeping it there vertically. The hole was sealed temporarily and Aden fell on the wooden bed. His left hand went in his pocket and pulled out the diary.
"Man, I am so tired. I'll read this shit later." Aden put the diary down on the bed and tried to sleep and get recovered from the exhaustion.
Aden remembered the training session with his mother when she taught him to fight when he was just 10, because she knew these types of battle will come anytime. So she had always prepared him for the upcoming tomorrow.
"Thanks mom for training me. Due to that training and the little experience I am alive or I was dead today." Aden closed his eyes and whispered these sentences with a warm smile.
Slowly the outside black sun settled down and the night occurred. Aden was still lying on the bed trying to sleep as the outside world was very silent and there were no crickets chirping in the night. The wind breeze in the night were very cold. Aden woke up and tried to find a blanket to wear.
Aden looked around in the house but found nothing, he looked under the bed and saw an old torned blanket that was thin but was enough to sleep. And Aden once again laid down on the bed and wore the blanket and finally fell asleep.
