Chapter 118 - Out of Magic

On the attic of the broken house not far from there, Adrian stood looking down and muttering, "My magic power is almost exhausted. I can only play support. Why don't you do something..."

Adrian had already decided to take action when he'd seen Dougt was in trouble. After all, things were already messed up. He couldn't really abandon him and watch Dougt get caught.

So he'd secretly summoned his Patronus and lurked near the battlefield.

It wasn't until Dougt used the Blasting Curse to cause chaos that Adrian found the right time, striking like lightning and eliminating the leading black-robed wizard as quickly as possible.

And by relying on their ignorance of blood magic's uniqueness, he'd cooperated with Dougt's purple flames to take down another law enforcer.

It's just that Adrian hadn't expected them to use an unknown magical item to blow up half of the Unicorn Shadow's body, forcing him to use a lot of magic power to repair it.

After several rounds of consumption, Adrian roughly figured his magic power could only perform one more physical manifestation of blood magic. So he'd kept it in an ordinary illusory state, staying in place and not moving to reduce magic consumption.

He was expecting Dougt to take the lead like before so he could take the opportunity for a sneak attack, maybe they'd be able to take down another black-robed wizard.

But Dougt hadn't taken the initiative for a long time, so Adrian had no choice but to attack first. Otherwise his magic power would be exhausted.

On the field, Dougt couldn't back down at this point. The three black-robed wizards in front of him watched eagerly. He wasn't completely sure he could withstand attacks from three people taking turns, but could only maintain a confident, arrogant appearance to make them think twice.

Fortunately, the Unicorn's Shadow moved at that moment. Dougt let out a long sigh of relief, while the law enforcement team members became nervous. They'd seen how strange this magic was, the transition from illusory to solid happened in an instant.

So they put on layers of defensive spells one after another, hoping to resist a hit or two. All that was left was to throw every curse they had at Dougt's face.

They couldn't handle this magic, but they just needed to get rid of the caster!

Dougt cast spells again and again, magical barriers forming in front of him. Although the speed of construction wasn't as fast as the speed of destruction, he could barely hold out for a while.

Of course, this was also related to the fact that the Unicorn's Shadow had been harassing these law enforcers. The three black-robed wizards couldn't pay all their attention to Dougt.

In an instant, the white shadow moved through to one black-robed wizard.

"Impedimenta!Protego!"

After releasing several defensive spells in a row, the black-robed wizard being targeted didn't feel the slightest bit secure. The illusory Unicorn's Shadow directly passed through the obstacles he'd set, even the Shield Charm played no role at all.

The spiral-shaped unicorn horn pierced his chest. When the black-robed wizard felt certain he was about to die, the white shadow passed directly through his body.

I'm not dead? The black-robed wizard turned his head and glanced in confusion. The Unicorn's Shadow was already looking for the next target.

After another period of trembling and fright, another black-robed wizard who was targeted touched his body strangely, he wasn't injured either.

It wasn't until the Unicorn's Shadow had tossed and teased all the remaining law enforcement team members that they gradually realized a fact.

That is, this unique magic seemed unable to attack them. Otherwise, as long as it manifested physically several times like before, at least one of them could be kicked out.

Thinking of this, the three of them all looked at Dougt together.

Dougt's eyes widened, cold sweat on his forehead. This magic wasn't released by him at all, and he didn't know its specific status.

But he still pretended to be calm and relaxed while starting to fight a bit more fiercely. No longer blindly defensive, he took advantage of the Unicorn Shadow's harassment and the law enforcers' distraction to counterattack hard.

"Confringo!"

At such close distance, releasing blasting dark magic was extremely dangerous, but Dougt had no other choice at this point.

The three law enforcers also understood how terrible this curse was and placed dozens of magical barriers one after another.

The orange-red flame exploded as soon as it touched the first magical barrier. The flames mixed with huge shockwaves spread out in all directions.

Dougt, who only had one Shield Charm on his body, took internal injuries from the shock. Even so, he still threw out a dark magical force that hit one of the black-robed wizards.

The black energy corroded upward, and the unlucky black-robed wizard fell to the ground with a wail. The three law enforcers were reduced by one more!

However, this had pushed Dougt close to his limit. The defensive spell on his body had already been blasted away by the explosion. Attacking again suddenly revealed a flaw.

The remaining two law enforcers waved their wands and prepared to deliver the final blow, but faster than them was the Unicorn's Shadow that had been moving across the field.

The illusory white shadow stepped on the void, its feet raised high, and stepped toward one of them.

The law enforcer was about to dodge instinctively when he heard another shout.

"Don't be afraid! Keep attacking, he's just bluffing!"

Thinking of Dougt's miserable state where he couldn't even sustain a defensive spell, the law enforcer felt at ease. However, the next second he suddenly felt pain in his chest and seemed able to hear the sound of his ribs cracking. His body flew up, hitting the stone wall behind him, knocked out cold.

The last black-robed wizard swallowed hard, then glanced back at the disheveled, bedraggled Dougt.

This person is so cunning! He must be tempting me to attack!

"Apparate!"

Seeing the Unicorn's Shadow rushing toward him, the black-robed wizard panicked and forced an Apparition, disappearing from the field.

Dougt sat down limply on the ground with a "thud" and instinctively took out the flask at his waist, but unfortunately there wasn't a drop of wine left in it.

When he looked up again, the mysterious and powerful Unicorn's Shadow had turned into mist and disappeared from the center of the battlefield.

"There's such a powerful spell in the Blackwood family? Why has Irene never used it?" Dougt murmured secretly.

At the same time, Adrian, who'd just walked down from the attic, suddenly frowned. The space not far in front of him seemed twisted and torn apart, and a figure in black robes was squeezed out of the space.

The two sides faced each other, staring at each other.
