Rhea POV:
Finally, James left the office. It was my chance to slip away and avoid being seen eavesdropping. Too bad I didn't get to hear my boss's side of the story. His voice was mostly muffled, and the only thing I could make out was him sounding like he was arguing with his brother. I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed—like a desperate gossip lover who missed out on the juiciest part of the show.
But then... I remembered the lunch. Mr. James Cortez, the kinder, gentler brother, had actually bought me lunch. The rich guy who wasn't a jerk! He treated me to a meal—something I hadn't experienced in forever. I took a bite of that delicious filet mignon—I mean, who could resist? I nearly moaned out loud it was so good, savoring every bite like I hadn't eaten in weeks.
Then, just as I was about to take my second bite, I heard it.
"Mr. Rowan, I need you in my office. ASP."
