Although both women were beautiful, their proximity and the alluring atmosphere between them was certainly every man's fantasy. However, Guan Xing's expression was far from pleased. He was growing frustrated with this unexpected turn of events. The arrival of Qin Yunluo had caused him to lose his intimate time with Sun Yiran, and the whole situation was making him uncomfortable.
"Guan Xing, what's with the long face? You should be honored to have such a beauty like me accompanying you. Besides, you have a car, right? It's getting dark, so what are you worried about? You can just drop me off. We're friends, aren't we?" Qin Yunluo said, clearly trying to play it off casually, though her underlying intention was different.
In truth, Qin Yunluo wasn't so much interested in Sun Yiran's company as she was in discovering what kind of relationship Guan Xing had with her. A woman's intuition can sometimes be quite terrifying, and she felt something wasn't right. She couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between them, which made her feel uneasy.
Sun Yiran, on the other hand, remained detached from the conversation, simply smiling softly and watching it all unfold with amusement, as if enjoying the drama from the sidelines. Guan Xing realized that there was no stopping Qin Yunluo now and simply hung his head in frustration, resigning himself to the situation.
When the elevator reached the 30th floor, the doors opened, revealing a large sign that read "Xingran Pharmaceuticals" in bold letters.
"Miss Qin, this is the place. We only signed the lease today, so it's still a mess inside. But you can take a look at the layout plans for now," Sun Yiran said, leading Qin Yunluo into the building, while Guan Xing was automatically ignored.
"Xingran?" Qin Yunluo muttered under her breath as she glanced at the sign, looking briefly at Guan Xing but not asking any further questions.
Inside, the space was vast—over a thousand square meters, practically an entire floor. The old decorations had already been torn down, and only the few supporting columns remained. The place felt quiet and empty, waiting to be transformed.
"Xingran? That sounds familiar..." A youthful voice interrupted as a young woman appeared, likely in her early twenties. She looked fresh and innocent, her gaze fixed eagerly on Guan Xing and Qin Yunluo.
Sun Yiran stepped forward to introduce, "This is Mr. Guan Xing, a doctor. And this is Miss Qin, his friend."
The introduction was simple, but with Qin Yunluo present, Sun Yiran was careful not to reveal too much. Her gaze toward Guan Xing was full of affection, though, and no one missed the soft, meaningful look in her eyes.
The young woman, Xiao Cailing, had worked at Xianfeng Pharmaceuticals for a brief period, but she was fired during her probation for being too honest and straightforward. Despite the short stint, she had become quite close to Sun Yiran. When Sun Yiran opened her company, Xiao Cailing wasted no time in quitting her current job to help out.
"Mr. Guan, Miss Qin, welcome. You're the first guests to visit Xingran Pharmaceuticals. Please take good care of us in the future," Xiao Cailing said sweetly, her voice charming.
Sun Yiran laughed and patted Xiao Cailing on the head affectionately. "Cailing, stop teasing. These two are not guests, they're friends—my friends."
Xiao Cailing, quick on her feet, smiled and handed cups of water to both Guan Xing and Qin Yunluo, saying, "I know, I know. But we're not officially open yet, so of course, they're friends." She winked at them before adding, "I'll remember this."
Sun Yiran couldn't help but laugh at Xiao Cailing's playful demeanor. "Qin Yunluo, Guan Xing, take a look at this layout plan. We've rented over a thousand square meters. The decoration company has measured everything accurately. It's divided into six departments and twelve sections. All of the ideas are here in the plan. What do you think?"
Guan Xing glanced at the layout plan, but his attention was quickly drawn to Sun Yiran's delicate, tired face. She had clearly had a long day, but there was a contented glow in her eyes. This was likely her dream coming true.
Qin Yunluo, however, was more interested in the grandeur of the office space. While Feiyang also had a large headquarters, the location could never compare to this prime spot in the Jin Nan Building. The layout, too, was luxurious and elegant. She was surprised by how high-end this new company was starting out.
"How's it, Dr. Guan? Do you like it?" Sun Yiran's voice had a slight, teasing tone, laced with jealousy, as if she were hinting at something. Guan Xing almost gave in to the impulse to hold her and reassure her, but he managed to hold back.
"Actually, I don't really know much about design. But it looks great to me," Guan Xing said, awkwardly trying to downplay the situation.
"What's this 'great' talk? This is the highest quality design. Only such designs are worthy of a place in the Jin Nan Building," Qin Yunluo said, almost envious. She had expected someone like Sun Yiran, who was so charming and beautiful, to open a small company, but this exceeded her expectations.
"Well, it's not perfect. I just want to get started quickly, so I've only given the decorator a week to finish. Some things may be a bit rushed," Sun Yiran explained candidly.
Xiao Cailing entered again at that moment, hearing them talk about the office and calling out, "But you promised me a private office! You can't go back on your word!"
She laughed shyly and continued in a softer voice, "If I can have an office in the Jin Nan Building, I won't even take a salary. I'll work for free."
Both Guan Xing and Sun Yiran laughed at her innocent remark, and even Qin Yunluo couldn't help but smile at this sweet, little woman.
"Okay, okay. I'll keep my word. Whenever there's food, there'll be enough for you too, Cailing. Don't worry." Sun Yiran playfully ruffled Xiao Cailing's hair.
Qin Yunluo, however, was more serious. "Miss Sun, the pharmaceutical market isn't doing too well these days. I heard some companies are struggling, and I've also heard that Huaxia Group has been quite dominant in the field. Are you not worried about that?"
Sun Yiran's eyes flicked to Guan Xing, her expression soft with affection, as she replied, "That's not a problem. As long as I have Dr. Guan here, I'm confident we'll be fine."
Guan Xing could sense that Qin Yunluo was about to ask another question, but he quickly interrupted her. "I'm actually getting hungry. Today has been a good day. Let's go eat. Xiao Cailing, you should join us too."
Qin Yunluo didn't press further. She simply smiled and agreed, "Since Dr. Guan is treating, how could I refuse? It's been a while since I've had a nice meal out. I'm looking forward to it."
As the three women led the way, Guan Xing was left behind as the one footing the bill. He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. It really wasn't fair.
